You are clearly wrong, things sell for what people will pay for them, not what they cost to make, but what they are worth. For example if the iPhone 5s costs $250 to make, but Apple can sell them for $600. If they make a better phone doesn't matter what it costs them to make it, just what it's worth. Clearly Apple sold 9 million iPhone 5s or 5c is a few weeks means people want to buy them.

If MMR sells out FASTER than ST LE or The Hobbit, it means people think its a decent value or better price for MMR than they think for TH LE or ST LE.

Take an example, VW made a car called the Phaeton which came in 12 cylinder basically supposed to be a MB S-class competitor for half the price, it had f-en everything even an umberlla holder in the doors like a Rolls Royce, had motors to close the doors etc.. The thing was a tank, it cost a Billion dollars or more for R&D and a brand new factory state of the art robots everywhere etc.. It sold like a duck. It couldn't sell, just a few thousand sold in the US if that.

But you'd say, well it costs a lot to make it, it is heavy build quality is great. But people didn't care for it. Makes no difference how much it costs to build or how much R&D is put into it, just if people think its worth the money.
