To me it seems like a no brainer to remake AFM as a test repro title, the BOM can't be THAT much compared to other desirable repro candidates (e.g. it could be ~ half to 75% that of Monster Bash... less parts, easier to assemble).

You are also now able to cut costs on some items like the transformer by using LED's and the Color DMD platform for the display.

Even if this rumor is not true, people are apparently remaking these games for their own use. I would buy an AFM kit and assemble it myself, if the price was vaguely reasonable.

I remember watching a youtube video of a reptile show and someone was hawking "investor quality" reptiles. I am actually very surprised this sort of rubbish term did not transfer into this hobby.

I can't see planetary pinball being able to get the licensing for the parts to sell separately, but someone else putting the kibosh on them screwing them together and selling them as a package.

Stranger things have happened, but seriously, there have been repro MM playfields, decals, characters... I don't see licensing being an issue for this title.

Not everyone, but the clueless few who are into buying pinball games because they are "rare" or expensive rather than to have fun playing them might just get a wake up call. And that's okay if it happens.
