Quoted from ovfdfireman:

He (wayne) retained those rights

Actually I believe PPP stated that they have the rights to produce but they did not purchase Waynes client list but would assist him with parts if he did go ahead ... going forward they (PPP) could reproduce any of the titles or sublicense the production to a third party if they wished .. Wayne has no further rights.

I agree. 500 at $10K is $5mil, but 800 a $7k is $5.6mil. I think they would do a lot better selling more games at a lower price and still make more money.

Yes and no ... for the extra 600K they are also producing 300 more machines which is only 2K per machine at that point probably selling below manufacturing costs ... now selling 1,000 or 1,200 at 7K that would make sense based on your numbers

I think they'd stand a chance of alienating a bunch of MM & AFM owners, quite a few of which buy NIB games. I'm not one of them, but i can't say i'd be pleased about my game being devalued like that. Oh well, it will it least make it easier to resist the urge to sell.

Well if it is PPP making the games they what do they have to lose, they are not a current manufacturer ?

Nothing. I was operating under the assumption that they'd have JJP make them for them as they supply them parts. I don't give two squirts anyhow.
I guess MB is untouchable due to licensing? It seems like that would be a better second choice than AFM. It's more expensive and harder to find, it seems.
I'll believe it when i see it!

Agreed .. I remember talking to Jack about this back at MPE 2011 I think .. and the PPP guys have previous stated they do not want to be the actual manufacturer .. I really don't see a backlash from the collector communitiy as I can't count the number of times I've heard someone trash one of the current manufacturers and state that they'll never buy NIB again ... only to sign up for the next can't do without title. ...hopefully we hear about this at EXPO
