Love them both... I wish my wife liked MM! I don't see one in my future unfortunately.
It looks like you have a broad enough collection to make owning both of them worthwhile -- I think if I only had a 2 or 3 game collection it'd be hard to justify owning both. Of course, I'd have a hell of a time deciding which one to keep!

No, they are like peanut butter, and a different brand of peanut butter. your getting the same shit twice with different label. Wouldn't want both in the same collection unless you have room for 400+ games.

To a lessor, nicer way of putting it, I agree as well. You need a certain number in your collection I think to get by it, but the play, and even the pinball porno is very similar.
I prefer AFM all in all, but MM is the nicer looking of the two.

MM is the peaches and AFM is the cream.
MB would be the spoon and CC would be the sugar and Shadow would be the bowl.
If you don't have MB there is no spoon so you have to use your fingers.

Based on the number of reproduction parts available for AFM I would suspect that would be next even though the demand is not there for that title like MM or CC.

I don't think demand would be there at $8K for an AFM, but if PPS were to price it at $6499 I think it would sell very well. I think that's a price point where PPS can still make a generous profit, while still giving the consumer a fun game for the money. It's a relatively simple game to make with a low BOM and a lot of available parts, so it would make sense for PPS to run it next. I'm probably getting ahead of myself here, but my prediction of future PPS games are:
1. MM
2. AFM
3. BBB (after PPS gets the rights)
4. MB (they already have the license rights)
5. CC

yea, but they have completely different rules. Not even close to the same style of rules. Unlike MM and AFM which is exactly the same rules and layout.
MB is also very close to the same game. Rules are basically the same, layout is the same, but the pounding area is off to the left and they break it up by having some Semi circular motion going on.

Yeah MB is totally the same, except for Frank not being a mode that requires repeat play of increasing difficulty like castles in MM or cities in AFM, and mosh pit multiball, and no video mode, and having Frank multiball be almost entirely a strategic objective to stop timers for other modes rather than a scoring goal, yeah pretty much exactly the same game.

Sorry I just dont see them as having the same rules. MM is predicated on bashing the castle for scoring while in AFM there are many better scoring strategies to use instead of just blowing up saucers.

Really? You don't think they so very close at all? Layouts as well? They are closer in rules and layout even more so than Jackbot and Pinbot.
When I first started collecting, the 4 games I wanted was ES, TZ, TAF, and FH. Not knowing they were all designed by the same guy. After having them in a 5 pin collection, I realized that even those 4 felt to much like the same thing. They didn't even have the same layouts. But just the feel of all 4, wasn't that much diversity. so 2 of them had to go, even tho I liked all 4 of them. AFM and MM share about 87% more similarities than those 4 did with each other.

I said the rules. It's a fan layout by the same designer so yes they are similar but the rules are quite different IMO. TF n LOTR are the same layout only flipped but the rules are different. To me AFM n MM play quite different.
that's the whole point, the rules arn't that different. Shoot everything 3 times, shoot the center 100. Multiball offset to the left. video modes. No modes, no change up.

Exactly. Jackbot and Pinbot are literally the same playfield layout (in terms of functional components, not inserts.) However, MM and AFM are effectively the same rules, whereas JackBot's rules are drastically different and more complex than Pinbot's.
