Quoted from herg:

Depending on how you wired them up, the troll eyes are probably only about 40 - 80 mA. The strip in front of the castle would be more, probably ~100 - 150 mA per 3 LED section. Still, that's not very big of a load assuming the rest of your GI is LED. I'm guessing that something was shorted in the process, and it should be fine once you replace the fuse.

the small led's I put in my troll eyes were 15ma each and they are wired in series so it's 15ma per troll plus the current sunk in the c/l resistor, so probably 30-40ma per side or 80ma total, so I concur.

That'll do it! When using GI OCD, none of the path through the PDB that zaza shows is applicable.

It's fused (somewhat conservatively) at 2A. The total current of all 5 strings is more critical. The input is fused at 10A, and you definitely should not go above that.

if you have replaced the GI strings with LED's there is no way you will ever exceed 2A per string, nor the 10A input.

Quoted from Troutfarm:

I have 3 of those comet 3 led strips on that same string.. had the one troll on.. the second one pushed it over.

you could always do what I did which is move the troll eye LEDs to the coil-hold on the coils that lift the trolls. that way they will not be on the GI string and will only be lit when the trolls are up. Note that you will have to change the resistor values for the troll eyes, as the coil hold is 50V I believe which would necessitate a far larger value resistor
