    Indians are on a mission.
Won't take no for an answer this year.
Victory was in their grasp last year until
that amazing double comeback by the Cubs.
They remind me of KC a couple of years back.
They got within 1 run of taking down the Giants.
Then the following year, on a mission.
Went all the way as they slapped
the Mets and their vaunted starting rotation, 4-1.
    Indians take it all...finally.

    Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

Astros. MLB will make sure Houston gets a feel good story after Harvey broke so many hearts

Just like when the Saints won the Super Bowl after
    Katrina.

    #82 6 years ago

Yanks victory over the Twins not quite the warm up that they had hoped for.
    What a comeback!
    Said it before:
    Indians are on a mission.
    Go Tribe!

    #84 6 years ago

'Stros are darn good. Tribes biggest threat.
Just can't imagine the Cubs repeating.
    Your dead on with L.A.
Washington could very well be the best team to never win a play-off series.

    #91 6 years ago

    Doomsday for the Yanks?

    #95 6 years ago

    Nice opening round by the
Dodgers but they have plenty of time to choke...
    again.

    #108 6 years ago

So now it's up to Houston
to take down the Evil Empire!

    Way to go Nats!
    Nice job forcing Game 5!

    #110 6 years ago

    Was it the "Evil Empire"
or the "way to go Nats?"

    C'Mon Hilton...

    #114 6 years ago
    Quoted from Mvfvette1:

It was probably all the trash talk that you were doing on page 2, and then after the yanks took 4 out of 5 games in the series, all you can do now is cheer against them again. Sad.

    C'mon now... trash talking?
I'm too out of practice to even attempt trash talkin'.
More like a mere candy wrapper.
Incidentally, it was 3 out 5 for the pinstripes.
And finally, root against the Yankees?
Yeah, so what else is new.

    #116 6 years ago
    Quoted from Mvfvette1:

It was 4 in reality and you know it.

    #122 6 years ago

    Nats force a Game 5,
score 8 runs and STILL just cannot take a series!?!
    What's it gonna take?
One thing: whereas other playoff teams play to win, the Nats always seem to play to survive.

    Congrats to the Cubs!

Both ALCS and NLCS should be tremendous!
    Really lookin' forward.

    #132 6 years ago

    What a finish!!!
'Stros just put a serious hurt on the Yankees.
No way they come back from 2-0 deficit in back to back series.

Verlander quite possibly pitched the game of his career, and for sure, one for the ages.

    On to New York!

    #134 6 years ago

Hope so too. He deserves it.

It's too bad that some of the greatest to ever play the game, never win a title.

    #146 6 years ago

Let's see if heading home can help the Cubs.
    Yankees good at home.
Near must win Game 3 coming up for both.
    Should be interesting.

    #155 6 years ago

Cubs just don't have "it" this year.
    So hard to repeat.
    Looks like Dodger blue.

Yankees proving tough to beat... by anybody.

    #179 6 years ago

    Technically?
Technically, they defend nothing when they are eliminated.

    #223 6 years ago
    Quoted from dirtbag66:

You sure that's not Wrigley Field? Place is about as loud as a funeral home right now.
    What great "fans".

    C'Mon really?
ANY home town crowd goes silent as their hopes and the fortunes of their team fade away into the reality of defeat.
You gotta' do better than that petty argument.

    #229 6 years ago
    Quoted from Whysnow:

See you all next year. (hoping realingment does not happen)

    Realignment?
    What realignment?
    Have you heard something?
In the dark on this one.

    #232 6 years ago
    Quoted from Whysnow:

just rumors surrounding expansion, elimination of Al/NL, and a new structure
    https://www.si.com/mlb/2017/10/19/major-league-baseball-expansion-proposal-realignment
    aweful idea IMHO

Ok read most all of that article.
It reminds me of when, as a kid, I would play "Commissioner for a Day".
I would align the league's as I saw fit as well as declare the DH dead and buried.
I also would sketch out ball park designs
for my club's to play in.
So as a kid I let my imagination run wild as has this guy. Wild realignment, horrible schedule,
and the demise of the AL and NL is
    laughable!
Oh well, a guy can dream can't he?
Yeah, well this guy sure is!!!

    #234 6 years ago
    Quoted from jmountjoy111:

From everything I have read it sounds like expansion to 32 is not too far off. It will require some sort of realignment. I am just now used to this realignment lol

    Expansion is one thing.
What the writer promotes is pretty f a r fetched.

Thanks to Whysnow for the link.

    Anyway, Go 'Stros!!

    #236 6 years ago

    Just one writer's scenario.
MLB will not return to Montreal. And Portland is simply too small. MLB has a considerable amount of small market teams already.
    Why add another? Or two??

    #237 6 years ago

    Best game in sports:
    Game 7

    #240 6 years ago

'Stros as AL resentative for first time.
    Unbeatable at home.
    Altuve is out of control!
And Verlander? Pitching like a master.
    Kershaw in the spotlight.
    Can he solidify his spot
as one of the all-time greats?
He'll need a championship to rise to that status.
Could be one for the ages!
    Settle in and enjoy.

    #259 6 years ago

Got home in time to see the good stuff.
    Crazy game.
After Houston went up in the 9th and were acting like it was over, I could sense trouble. Sometimes 'ya 'gotta wait to celebrate.
    Almost cost 'em
Quite entertaining to watch Giles get two and then get so tight he couldn't finish.
    Almost cost 'em again.
Anyway, Houston would NOT be denied.
    Great game!
    Back home for three.

    #266 6 years ago
    Quoted from o-din:

Being not a big fan of either team, I remember game seven of the Diamondbacks/Yankees series was pretty memorable as well.

    Wasn't that the game when
    Gonzalez got to Rivera?

    Incredible!

    #269 6 years ago

    Indeed!

Back then it was great when
somebody, anybody, took it to the Yanks.
    Those boys were good.

    #280 6 years ago

Astros took another BIG step last night.
Heard that whoever wins Game 3 goes on to win the Series 68% of the time.
Hoping it holds true to form.
    Go 'Stros!!!

    #283 6 years ago

    WHY does a manager
take out his starter in the 7th...
    who has been in command
    of the game
who had given up a mere
    three hits
    was pitching shutout ball
AND had brilliantly JUST gotten out of a jam in the previous inning?

    Because he can.

Very predictably Dodgers tie it up.

    #285 6 years ago

    For cryin' out loud...
    LEAVE him IN!
    Morton was pitching great.
    Seven strikeouts too!
    Frustrating.

    #286 6 years ago

    "One thing leads to Another"
    The FIXX
    ...and so it goes...

    puke

    #290 6 years ago

    Wow!!
    How about that!!!

    #359 6 years ago

    Oh baby!
    Nuthin' as good as a...
    Game 7!

    #370 6 years ago
    Quoted from jmountjoy111:

But to second your opinion Dave Roberts has Way over managed this post season in my opinion.

Could not agree more. In fact I think that both managers were over managing.

    Anyway, congrats to the Astros,
    baseball's World Champions!
