So I was doing some poking around on my Bally night club. Checking some things out, and I noticed on the red and yellow line steppers that 1 tooth was, my guess, filed off, so as to increase the odds for the house. Your thoughts. See pics.
There are also two units on the fold down light board that are the same way. And one of them there are wires disconnected.

Those are normaly engineered stop positions.

That is done on steppers from the factory to keep them from going past that point. For instance, on a 4 player game it is done to keep from having the player unit go past 4 positions. There is a reset coil to bring the stepper back to the home position.

    Interesting.

Yes, the red and yellow lines only have X number of positions (not in front of the game right now... want to say it's 12?) at step 12, there's a missing tooth to prevent mechanical movement beyond the max position. On some units there are other switches to prevent engaging the stepup coil entirely.

Look at the feature on the front of the glass, press in the reset plunger, then step up one step at a time - you'll see the feature lights follow and it should all make a bit more sense.

Night Club is a fantastic game, btw. Love it.
