I have been working on a Gotlieb Stargate and am missing the plastic Speaker Grill covers. These parts are "unobtanium" and I am trying to determine if it is possible to recreate this to be like the original. This will be for my own machine only, not for resale.

I have a scan from PBR here (They have none in stock): http://pbresource.com/plastic/gtb-28826-742.jpg

I picked up some plain speaker grills. I'm thinking the details are too fine for silk screening. Has anyone done a reproduction like this before or have any ideas of how to go about this while keeping the cost reasonable?

Thanks!

You can do fine detail with silkscreens--you just need one with a fine mesh.

The problem with trying to recreate those speaker grills is the graphic in the pyramid. There's a lot of detail missing due to the speaker grill holes.

However, that same symbol is used on the side of the cabinet, so you may be able to scan that, turn it b&w, and shrink it down.

Same problem, one is rusty on my Stargate but the problem I already talks is about colors...I'm pretty mine are originals but have copper red color for the pyramid, you might take speakerd grid on a hold blaster cause there made of metal toile original ones

Hmm, they were metal originally?

Thanks for mentioning the cabinet symbol ForceFlow. I forgot there's one on the instruction manual, so I've now been able to recreate the image! Now I need to research silk screening. It may take me a bit to get to doing it, but I'll let you all know how it goes!

If the picture violates any rules/terms, I will remove it.

I could make these , including the symbol in the middle. I wont be able to do the fine detail in the middle, but I could reproduce them very closely. I just need dimensions and screw hole spacing. The ModFather

Vectorize, cut a stencil out on a vinyl cutter, spray paint.
Modfather is also a good dude that does good work!

Pretty sure that they are made of metal...like old ghetto blaster...otherwise they will not be rusty

Thats exactly how I am going to do it.

I'm having modfather do this for me. I can't wait to see the results!
