Sunday March 2nd, PGH Pinball is running a tournament that can earn you a spot in Pinburgh 2014! PGH Pinball is giving away to the top finisher, who does not have an entry into Pinburgh 2014, a spot in the tournament.

In addition to the Pinburgh entry, there will be 100% cash payouts on all entry fees. For additional details on the event check out the facebook event page here: https://www.facebook.com/events/767479576614334/?ref_newsfeed_story_type=regular

    Details:
    Sunday March 2nd
    Slovak Club of Parks Township
1214 Lincoln St. North Vandergrift PA 15690

Doors open at 11:30 AM. Qualifying starts at Noon with the last ticket sold at 7 PM. All tickets must be played by 8 PM. No refunds for unused tickets.

Scoring will be done in the Herb or Best Game format.

You may enter as many times as you like. $10 for 4 tickets. There will be an A and B division. All entry fees will be paid out in cash and prizes.

In addition to the cash prizes PGH Pinball is donating one Pinburgh entry which will be given out to the top finisher who is not already a registered player for Pinburgh (entry is non transferable, no entry money is being used to pay for the Pinburgh entry).

Best game format: Players can buy tickets (1 ticket is good for 1 game play) and play games as much as they want during the qualifying times. Only a player's best score on each machine will be counted. You will be ranked based on your best scores from 4 games.

Payouts will be determined by participation. All entry fees will be paid out in cash and prizes.

For WPPR points this event is considered a periodic event.

Um. If top 10 qualify, how can top 7 get byes round one? (That leaves three players playing..)

Typo here. Fixed now, thanks for the heads up.

    So

big wad of cash + Bowen =/= late entry?

    #6 10 years ago

Uh, what? The winner here will get a big wad of cash AND a chance to win more at Pinburgh.

Speaking of Pinburgh....have people on the waiting list been getting in? The few times I checked the website I saw no reference to where the waiting list stood at this point. Any info is appreciated.

We are not publishing the waiting list. So far, 7 players have come off the waitlist into the tournament; if you're on the waitlist that number should give a sense of how close you might be.

Players will be emailed if a waitlist spot becomes available. Thanks, and sorry that the tournament can't hold more players!

You're going to need to hold more tournaments. Sold out in what, 3 days this year? Next year it'll be 3 hours.

Is the reason no more than 2 are held each year is because of the non profit status would be in jeopardy?

No. The reason no more than 2 are held each year is that they take a crapload of work and time to plan and execute

Fortunately, tournaments around North America and the world are bigger and better than ever.

Tournament was full in 2 hours this year.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for explanation

Thanks for all your work, Bowen. Perhaps next year I'll be prepared with the quick internet fingers

Yeah, next year you really need a pre announcement of the announcement that Pinburgh registration is about to be announced.
