Quoted from radium:

JJP talk just ended. Kaneda asked Jack about the PF issue and he did at least acknowledge the problem. Said he expects future game to not have issues. Eh.

Easy to confirm this, do the newer GnR games coming off the line have any issues?

#48 2 years ago
Quoted from J85M:

Problem with that is they “fixed” the issue with POTC didn’t they? Only for GnR owners to discover the problem wasn’t fixed.
I can’t recall exactly but I am sure Jack and JJP have said more than once the problem is fixed and it appears to have been fixed for then owners of their next game to have issues.

I don’t think potc was ever fixed. I had a game from the very last run and it had minor clear issues. Then it followed to wonka and now GnR. If the GnR games coming off the line now are good, I’d expect/hope there won’t be issues with the new release, but you are right, they’ve said it before.

when Mirco said they had no issues, did anyone follow up to ask why the jjp playfields are chipping and pooling?

Quoted from romulusx:

Dialed In is a great game with no playfield issues at all!

Agree it’s a great game, but Dialed in had issues, just not pooling and not as extensive. the left scoop had clear cracking at the post. The only game that had zero issues was hobbit.

Quoted from Colehvac1:

Yes, we did, he said hes not aware of any playfield problems, then he said he wont warranty any of his products sold by 3rd party vendors, basically hes claiming its not his product its the end user. He acknowledges nothing, knows exactly what the warranty is in his own country where he can be held accountable but doesn’t know the warranty on his products in the US, and sounded like No shits will be given.

Wow, not aware, how could he possibly say that with a straight face. I’ve been a supporter of jjp games, like them a lot and have had very few issues, minor pooling here and there, nothing I couldn’t handle. But I really don’t want to touch anything with Mirco’s name on it if that’s his attitude.

Quoted from flynnibus:

This is simply giving mirco an out. By bringing up JJP (even in the opening question) it set Mirco up to shutdown. He doesn’t have to (or possibly can’t) talking about JJP product.
There are plenty of prople with mirco playfields they bought from mirco or his distributors. They should have stuck with those grievances…
So mirco could only answer “open a ticket”
Asking for a show of hands in the crowd would have been interesting.
Asking the crowd to poll on what they felt about his non answers would have sent a message.
Asking about JJP just made this into a stalemate. You’d think the great marketer wojld have thought that through before stepping up to the mic

Well, I hope whenever and wherever jjp announces their next game, someone asks who is making their playfields.

Ultimately, BMW time is over - everyone put their heads together and figure out what can actually be done about the problem and take action. Personally, if I was impacted by it I would be relentless, but venting in an open forum is just the first step.

i don't know the solution as I am not an expert in clear coating, but hobbit playfields had no issues, what changed? Stern had similar issues, they seem to have figured it out. Spooky too if I recall. CGC never had any issues like this, what do they do differently?

#225 2 years ago
Quoted from ForceFlow:

They don't use mirco

exactly, there you go. But stern did have significant pooling and chipping issues and I don't think they were using Mirco. I don't know how they fixed it in terms of process or materials, but what you do notice is that playfields now have a much thinner coat. I think the correction started with EHOH as I recall asking GG about it at expo in 2019 and he told me my playfield would be perfect, and it was.
