As an aside, it's easy to disconnect from the bottom as well. I used a small stool inside the cab to support the dangling assembly as i worked on it. I recall it only being a few screws to disconnect.

I'm wondering if yours isn't lining up due to the set screw being stripped and not being able to stop the spinning disc, which is slipping? It's been a few months since i worked on mine.
