Is anybody selling playfield glass?
Are we handing out prizes for worst bo this year? There's some people in the arcade room that have to be trying to win some sort of award.
Quoted from janus:I'd just hate to see pins not make it in the room for some of those vids.
Unless if I haven't been told, we didn't turn away any machines this year again.
Quoted from floyd1977:So are there no beverages at all allowed in the game room, or just no alcohol? Last, night, I was told "no open beverages beyond this point," yet I see plenty of people with coffee/pop/water.
Should be none. Comment forwarded.
Has anybody seen a Gorgar? I think I've checked every location, just want to make sure I didn't miss seeing my favorite demon somewhere. (I know there was one at TT's yesterday ...)
Pinball overload. So many games, too much fun. Had to go home and recuperate before the infamous after party.
Apparently, I recuperate by going on Pinside. I think I have issues.
Is it just me or is the pricing on many games (pins and arcades; $2k for the TMNT arcade game? Seriously?) way out of line? It's 5pm and I don't think I have seen many machines turned off or leave the property yet. In years past the pricing was more in line with the market and they left much earlier in the show.
On the plus side; way more games to play and much less of a wait. I am having a blast.
I should have gone with my gut and switched out Genesis. I questioned it before I packed it up even though it ran fine for hours at home played 2 dozen games... Oh well lesson learned I guess.

There was a $1700 DM

Again, awesome job Dan!!!

For how long? I got there at 1pm and didn't see it? Was it the one referenced above where the buyer just put a new price tag on it?

Make an offer. Nothing sells for the advertised price.
Edit: the game is not mine, I'm just saying.

I saw it last night after seeing another one for $2100
How is the silent auction going and how many items are there? I donated one of my blue Leg Light-Up kits and was wondering how that whole thing worked. This is the first time I've ever donated something. A picture of the table would be great.
Quoted from FrankJ:Silent auction is at the after hours. Starts at9pm
OK thanks. I heard that was a pretty good party.
Quoted from Slim64:I have an extra after party band, shoot me a message if you'd like it.
Same here. Please pm if you need one

It belonged to a friend of mine. It sold early yesterday afternoon to another friend of mine. I happened to play the middle man.

As always there are some good deals to be had, it seems like there were less of them this year and most were scooped up early. I stayed until 8pm and there were still many games left for sale. I have been going to MGC for the past 5 years and do not recall the main room being this full by the time Saturday ended. There were many complaints last year at how many games sold on Saturday and how empty the show was on Sunday, so that tells me the pricing is off either this year (too high) or last year (too low).
As for the turtles arcade. I am into Pins and not arcades, and I realize most games don't sell for asking; but, I was shocked that someone was asking $2k for a turtles arcade game when the pin is lucky to fetch that price. I do not know enough about arcade games to know their real value; but, I did my best to find pricing on the Internet and a collectors condition machine had an estimated value of $1200-1300.
Overall, I had an excellent time. The show seemed less crowded than recent years and I had no trouble jumping from game to game and navigating through the entire show. I will most likely come back tomorrow as my Sunday is pretty open outside of watching the Masters. I also wouldn't mind watching the Nintendo Playsation presentation.
Quoted from MustangPaul:Thanks.
No reason to be sad, the party had just begun when he took that pic, many items hadn't even been bid on yet at 9pm.

Thanks. It's 12:30 now so I'm wondering...
It's 1am, and right now I'm in the office area trying to do some drunken podcasting(and succeeding). The bar area is nowhere near as crowded as prior years. You know what? I am totally cool with that. I can get a drink within a minute which I shouldn't be drinking more. No loud music or people bumping elbow to elbow. I don't know what it's like in the afterparty, for I am here. I'm having fun socializing with whomever's here.
I'm remembering back to prior MGCs where people were socializing on various topics on a Saturday night.... at 4 in the morning.
It's not as crowded as prior years, but I like that, and look forward to my personal Rumspringa next year.
As for Goatdan's Sears comment, I proposed my idea to him: If the Sears 2000 feet away goes out of business, move MGC over there. Imagine the size of the arcade & vendor hall! We sleep in the hotel, but partake in the huge arcade that used to be Sears. Seal off a section & make it look like a 1982 Sears video game section(no shortage of CIB Atari games to do that here). Just an idea.
Yay MGC.
Quoted from labnip:Pix of dominoe's playfield ??
There was none. It was covered up, so I'm assuming it's still in the works.
I should be asleep, but...
That thing was super ultra Cool. I didn't bid, but figured once I set things up I probably will get some in the future. Never seen it before. Would look great on Batman Forever, I think.
As for the show, I don't *think* it was less crowded, (I don't know yet), I think that a lot of changes that we made last year really paid off this year. Mostly minor tweaks, but ones that allowed what seems like considerably better flow.
Quoted from craigj:Thinking of coming back on Sunday with my son. How many pins will be there still, most?
Usually, most until two or three. Last year at shut down, we had well more than 100 up. Anyone with a game up at 5pm gets an exclusive shirt too, so hoping for even more!
Domino's playfield will be revealed at a corporate event in August Domino's pizza was tasty!
Quoted from craigj:Thinking of coming back on Sunday with my son. How many pins will be there still, most?
Still the vast MAJORITY on the floor and playing good. I just left the afterparty and WOW what a blast! I did not know MGC could get even better. I counted 190 pins on site today and probably missed a few since they are in all places in the venue. Found 6 more in a side room this afternoon i did not even know about plus a few others downstairs. The majority i played were playing great. More games than ever before and more still on and playing well than i have seen before. I think many are priced at "i am not selling but take pride in my games and wanted to share them with others prices" which is a big positive of this show. Still plenty of deals and great games. My wife bought another game tonight and did well
So proud to be part of helping make this show what it is and all the people that put int the time to make it so much FUN!
Its 3:45 in the morning. Big shout out to the people responsible for bringing free domino's pizza and free beer for the everyone at after party. That hit the spot. The auction was a success I bought 2 items. Dan that megatouch is mine.
Just did a physical count and i have 176 pins still on the floor. I think only a handful are not functioning but hopefully owners are rocking to get them back up for another great day. If you need any parts to bring something back to life, just ask. Good chance someone has it.
A few pics from the After Party. Two of the crowd gathered to hear Dan Loosen thank everyone for making MGC a great show. Two pics of the tables filled with bid sheets for the Silent Auction before auction start. Thanks out to Garret Petterson, Bradly Lutz and others that helped with the auction during the After Party. Thanks out to all the vendors, mod makers, Pinsiders, and creative people who contributed to the auction.
Damn, guys, had my tables with stuff for display just outside the hall during the after party. I can tell somebody served pizza on them. But everything is still where it should be, neat and clean, even my pen was still where I put it.
I'm happily impressed.
So the guy that police or security was looking for last night and then got escorted out? What did he do? I like to stay on top of my mgc after party drama.
Sit down and eat during the after party? There was was pinball to play. Glorious pinball!
Actually, everyone was crowded at the front to listen to Dan. There was plenty of room last night.
Quoted from goatdan:That thing was super ultra Cool. I didn't bid, but figured once I set things up I probably will get some in the future. Never seen it before. Would look great on Batman Forever, I think.
Thanks and the blue looks killer along with beatmasters shooter plate light up. I think he has one left. I'm gonna HAVE to go to this next year.

What time was that? I walked out at about 2:30 to see the police casing the lot, I was parked way back by the Sears auto and they were using the splotlights at one point during my long walk back... glad that I did not do any drinking.
I would guess it was about 1230 or so. That's just a guess, my ability to keep track of time was limited last night
