Need help figuring out how to get a monster gun game working. Apon plugging it in i press the front (free credit) start button & nothing happens the 3 wheels in the back just keep racing around apon opening the front door i found a black wire & a red wire not wired together or taped up so i have done both of them together and also taped both individually with the same result NOTHING CHANGED. Any help would be awesome.

He did a complete restoration of more than one Monster Gun. May want to take a look at his restoration post. It will help you.
I will tell based on the on pic. All the jerry rigged wiring needs to come out. None of it’s original. My guess is your motor is running continuously due to this wire mess.
Looks like you have several EM pins. Can only equate Midway Mechs to the Ax Bx Dx adjustment on Gottlieb pins just the whole game is just like the adjustment on those relays.
Hard to dial in but once you do your all set.
Take more pics and post for us to take a look at. Midway built mouse traps and you will either fall in love due to its mechanical madness or want to set it on fire (don’t do it).
I fell in love with the mechanics Midway and have several in my collection. Someday I will add an MMG to my collection.
