During reset my capt. Kid 1000 score reel doesn't stop at 0. It will stop anywhere between 9-6 . Goes past 0 . I'm trying to learn midway reels but I have read horror stories . What tells the 1000 reel to stop at 0 . All others are ok. It will go to 0 sometimes. Thanks for any help. I do know how EM reels work . I have fixed plenty of them but this is a different animal

The contact fingers (#8) make contact with the traces on the circuit board (#7) to indicate when the reel is at zero when the motorized shaft spins. This signals the locking coils (#20) to release the armature (#21) to stop the reel at zero. Either the contact finger contact points are dirty/missing/bent or the traces on the circuit board are dirty/worn away. Disassemble and clean up. Alternatively, some "technician in a can" AKA: Contact Cleaner might get you by.

What a miserable assembly to take apart and put back together. Worse than a Gottlieb drop target bank on 2001, Hot Shot or Sheriff/Lawman/Atlantis.
