    I’ve been slowly
Restoring what I thought was originally a well working Haunted House EM from Midway. Upon cleaning and adjusting I realized the dance unit molex was attached backwards! When I opened up the witch/cat unit I found someone had made a mod which prevented the witch from rising to the top of her arc which allows the motor to go in the opposite direction. I fixed and cleaned the mechanics and the dance unit it working great! The witch and cats dodge from side to side and I see all the relays clicking properly , one issue though, once the witch rises all the way she won’t automatically fly downward. The other issue is when she’s all the way she is not shootable, so she just flies left and right till the end of the game unless I trip her relay from behind.
I’ve poured over the schematic and checked the connections, cleaned the pcbs and adjusted the relays. I can’t seem to find what the issue is, any EM experts have any advice?

It has to be the switch/switches that touch the witch plate. If it drops when you manually hit the relay. And if it goes up and everything thing else is working. Its not detecting the top position.
And would probably also be why the gun doest hit it.

White wire continuity on the witch board plug. For top position.
And the wiper switch has continuity. At all positions.
Because when it hits the top it should drop. Its just a top limit switch to engage the drop relay

Do both sides of the wiper switch touch the plate? And do they complete the circuit?

Actually, the witch does not drop when the witch down relay is manually activated. It drops when shot normally except at the top. The dance unit properly is triggering the left/right up/ down relays but again the witch doesn’t go down from this. Both sides of the wiper do touch well on the witch vertical pcb and I’ve cleaned it well, not sure about circuit completion though, what’s the best way to test that at the top limit.

Just follow the wires and and check continuity and switch closure continuity. Check the switches on the drop relay switch stack.
