I have a Midway Haunted House gun game. It was sitting around for a while and needed a good cleaning. The target mech was having issues due to hard grease and some 'fixes'.

I still have a problem with the mech not wanting to reverse when it gets to the right side (from the shooting position). The reason is the ribbon cable has gotten stiff and the drive system can not over come the force to bend the ribbon cable. I can correct for the right side but then it does not go full left.

I have done some basic ribbon cable look up and everything is small digital stuff that I have found.

Is there a source of ribbon cable or am I making up my own?

    Thanks.

While most Ribbon cable is 28 AWG, they do make all gauges. The problem is trying to find someone that doesn't want to just sell you the whole reel. I popped in 20AWG (which is probably good enough for this application) and found this:

I ended up using 28 gauge ribbon. The 28 AWG is rated to 5 amps. The transistors only go to an amp really and the fuses are 3/4 A.
The 28 AWG is easy to double up the wires so I am running two wires in parallel. Problem sovled using parts on hand.

Now I still have troubles with the witch registering a hit. Was a problem before did the wires. That is just PIA tracing the circuit and moving things to see where the issue is which is probably a poor contact on those boards. I know the witch side appears to be ok at the 20 pin connector. Now I need to go to the other side.

FWIW, there is someone on ebay selling wire that would work. But they were selling it in too short a length per cut.

    Thanks for your help.
