The best Michigan show will be in May this year. Of course i have a horse in this race so my comment isn't exactly fair...

200 games guaranteed of excellent quality and no lines to play (no overselling.)
Aside from that I like PatZ as it's relaxed and there aren't lines.

Since you qualified your visit as wanting short lines, the Zoo is it. They have a *huge* building nothing short of spectacular in size. The attitude is extremely casual and friendly, like no other show i've ever attended. Also the number of sheer visitors to the show is about 1/6 of MPE so there's just less people to deal with. Since Zoo is marketed more to "pinball people" than the general masses, I find it to have all the faces i've come to expect at a pinball show. Also there are vendors in mass at the Zoo (they actually ran out of vendor space last year.)

For the Ann Arbor pinball show case May 16-28, 2014 at the VFW museum you can see a list of games that will be there here:

We're giving away a game too at our May show case, but doing it differently than others. First you don't have to buy a $100 tourney ticket to enter the drawing. Anyone with pre-paid admission is automatically entered at no additional cost. In fact, that's the only way you can get in on the raffle. No raffle box stuffing. But we're giving away a far less expensive game than a Hobbit...

the show is a good place for a game to break, but only if the keys are available so people can fix it. no keys, no fixin'.

i'm hoping to bring a game or two to kzoo too. but the 3 day thing really kills me. i'll probably give the game(s) to shazzam since he'll have a booth and he'll be there anyway. i go for just one day as i have my own fish to fry with our michigan show coming up shortly after kzoo may 16-18.

I'll be at the Zoo, and hopefully will have a game for people to play. Now that it's open on Thursday that screws me up a bit though. Makes it a lot more difficult to bring something because i can't be there Thursday too. I'm trying to work through that though.

Don't forgot our show at the Ann Arbor pinball museum, May 16-18. Guaranteed 200 games, vendors, flee market, and food. Also limited number of tickets sold too so there's no issue with lines at games and over crowding. Check out the web site for details. http://www.vfwpinball.com

    Quoted from tbmi:

I was unaware (until now) of the Ann Arbor show, but looking at the website, I am definitely interested. It looks like it is going to be awesome.

One of the many things that puts the Ann Arbor show as a "don't miss" is the collection of games. Instead of just random games like most shows, it's a cognitive collection. Meaning there's a classic Stern row (with all the best titles.) There's a Bally -17/-35 row (again with the best titles.) There's are classic Williams, Gottlieb, Zaccaria's. And of course system11, WPC, DataEast, and new Stern rows. Not to mention the EM rows of wedgeheads, woodrails and multiplayers.

So instead of random games, it's organized in a manner that historically makes sense (and with very few if any spots of pinball history missing.) This allows the show have something for everyone. And with limited ticket sales there's no over crowding.
