Dan, I ordered a Tom Taylor ticket, but it says I must buy a 2 day event ticket to qualify. I plan I bringing a machine or two this time. How do we qualify ourselves without buying a two day ticket?
I got a room at the Marriott SpringHill right across the street from main entrance for $146/n including tax. Parking at hotel is $30/day, but the front desk told me I can park in outside lot for $15/day.
I will correct in another post, but I only tried to book the Hilton through their web site, my error.
Quoted from TomGWI:Did you try booking on line off the MGC site? Seems to have rooms available
No, this was my mistake. I went through the Hilton website.
Quoted from yancy:Show hasn’t started, but I have.
Only in Milwaukee would a beer flight consist of full 16oz glasses.
Quoted from s1500:Enjoying the show so far, but a bit disappointed in the Center's security staff playing traffic cop for no real reason. They wouldn't let people up the escalators(to level 3) at various times for no reason, saying it's up to their supervisor.
That, and carpeting would have been nice. It would also be better if they could have turned the lights down. Very difficult on many games to see if you completed a roll over, lane, etc.
Quoted from Deaconblooze:Is there a consensus on the best hotel? We stayed at the Hilton, it was fine, but a long walk.
I stayed in the Spring Hill Marriot right across the street from entrance. It took me less than 60 seconds to jog out the front door and right into the main entrance. The room was also very nice, 10ft. ceilings, large bathroom. Paid $118/night.
Doc's BBQ was the bomb! Some of the best brisket I have ever had.
Quoted from HamsterHerder:Sorry to see and hear about all the guys who broke glass pieces on their machines. I know of at least 3 during the weekend
I would be one of the unfortunate. Was told at the time that I was the first, and that they were really surprised that there weren't more with the concrete floors. Sorry to hear there were more later. I was careful during setup to set my glass on top of another machine, but during takedown, there was too many people around so I thought it would be safe to lean it against the machine next to me. A child ran up to the machine and bumped it trying to hit the start button.
Concrete + glass + vibration = KaBoom!
Quoted from epthegeek:TODOs for next year's arcade hall:
- Rubber cups for the front legs on the pins
- pool noodles from the dollar store with a slot cut for PF glass
- Research alternate escape route via freight elevator out to wells on the ground floor for people with only 1 or 2 games to load.
You might also want to consider a delousing room in there. Wow! There were quite a few.
