Well, the show really out grew the Sheraton years ago and the tent was added to alleviate the space issues. I think the ownership change and loss of some familiar personnel at the Sheraton has been a concern.

Quoted from Beatnik-Filmstar:Can anyone confirm/deny that the Clock Chaos / Pingolf / Main Tourney for this year's MGC will not be for IFPA points due to the new fees?
No biggie either way. Had just forgotten all about it and am curious.
I'm pretty sure that is the case as there are no MGC tournaments on the IFPA calendar for WI.

I think the tournaments will still be fun and maybe a little less serious.
Quoted from ChrisS:Hey All,
Since I'm now not attending MGC. I have 2 - Tom Taylor tickets for the afternoon on Friday. $40.00. That's what i paid for them. Just want to give someone a chance to see the collection. Once PayPal transaction is complete I will send tickets, directions and other details.

Bummer, man. I was looking forward to hanging out. Hope something changes so that you can at least catch part of the show.
Quoted from HHaase:Packing the car, driving out in a couple hours.
Going to overnight at an indoor waterpark in the Dells tonight. Kinda excited about that too.
Will be weird doing this trip solo, without the family, but gotta do what you gotta do.

Moose jaw restaurant has pins in the basement if you go there for dinner in the Dells.
Quoted from lpeters82:But Moosejaw has such terrible pizza it's not worth going, IMHO.
Yeah, their pizza stinks. Calzones are good there though.
Quoted from HHaase:Stick a fork in me, I’m done driving. Stopped in Tomah finally. Things getting icy real quick.
Safe drive the rest of the way.
Wow, what a great MGC. It was great hanging out with Arcade Hall set up crew again. It seems MGC is the only time we all hang out, maybe this will be the year we'll get together outside of MGC.
I was nervous that the new venue wouldn't work out for one reason or another, but everything really came together, despite one of the worst April snow storms I can remember.
I see a few gripes in this thread. Just to put some perspective on this, where else could you play 70 BRAND NEW PINBALL MACHINES???? Or 180 other pinball machines that people brought to share plus arcade video game, consoles, pong, weirdos, air hockey, cosplay, board games, vendors, etc? This show was great.
Plus, it didn't stink like a ball sack in the arcade hall.
All of my games held up great with no issues for the duration of the show. I hope people enjoyed playing them. Iron Maiden leaned a bit, but I found the playfield hook latch didn't set all the way down properly in the receiver. I set up my machines and pulled some audits:
Creature From the Black Lagoon - 419 plays
Iron Maiden - 434 plays
Harlem Globetrotters - 617 plays
Big thanks to everyone that brought games and/or helped at the show. I would expect that with nicer weather and more space, 2019 MGC will be even better now that we have some experience under our belts.
