Quoted from animesuperj:The construction on the mall now would have made it a mess!
You really think that won't be wrapped up by April?

Just a reminder nudge - you only have until April 4th to set up delivery of a ColorDMD with the $50 off show deal for exhibiting at MGC!
Full details: $50 off and free delivery on a new ColorDMD display picked up at the show and exhibited in your game OR $50 toward a new display purchase for any game you bring to the show that already has a ColorDMD in it (that you let us put a small sign on top)! I'll be there to distribute and can help you install it in your game if you would like. Email [email protected] to set up the order!

Quoted from TomGWI:Can it be in the tournament?
You'd have to check that with Randy, since the tournament games aren't in the main hall this year. I don't think it would be a problem since they're still part of the show and people will see them -- but it's Randy's call.
Quoted from BlueIrocGuy:So is Marco going to have any BK Sword of Rage pins for sale and delivery at the show this year? Kind of like the Imdn deal last year? Or is it too short notice, as I don’t remember when Imdn was revealed in relation to the show dates last year...
I know most of the games at MGC last year had a build date of the day before; but I haven't heard/seen any word on BK3 for this year.
Quoted from goatdan:Someone mentioned our power grid that we build every year.
Here is a quarter mile of cord we made new this year for your viewing pleasure.

Should have put some of that in the frunk to balance the weight.
Quoted from Whysnow:sounds like it closes sometime today?

Anyone familiar able to draw out the correct/easiest reroute?
It's a bit confusing to draw, given how dense that area is - but if you go straight like you're going to 794, pass the 43 North you would take, pass the 43/94 south, then there's an exit on the right for St Paul/James lovell that you can take and hook under the freeway to come out on 'james lovell' which is basically 7th street : Edit - don't think you can go St Paul to 6th, my bad.
Quoted from kcZ:Terry did mention coming to MGC on Saturday
Just to participate, not to vend/deliver things.
Quoted from snakesnsparklers:A few years ago I bought a sheet of glass from Terry at PBL at the show without preordering. Maybe he will bring a few spares this year as well.
He's not bringing inventory, he's just attending the show. He did have a table a few years at the Sheraton, but not in recent years.
Jumped in the car this morning for the commute of dread and before I could plug my phone in the WIIL Rock morning guy said they'd be talking about MGC 'coming up', so I stuck around just to see what that would mean. 20 minutes later, they talked to Matt (somebody) about the show. Spent several minutes talking about it, gave out the URL. It was decent coverage for the show. That was a nice surprise.
Quoted from cavalier88z24:crane games
?
Last year it was tons of Kiddie Rides. Weird flex, Kingpin, but ok.
Quoted from hayrebear:In re the Thursday unboxing party, I have a quick question or two. I emailed Marco, but never heard back. Do we just show up at/around the window they mentioned to us?
Also, should we be bringing anything along for this? More curious with regard to whether others bring wax, tools, new balls, etc. Any feedback or guidance is much appreciated.
Quoted from Whysnow:I suggest bringing everything you want/need to set your game up and tweak how you like.
What he said. Its your game; bring whatever you'd like to set it up however you'd like. I swapped out the front corner interior leg brackets on the one I set up last year and put on metal leg protectors on the outside. Threw down a quick coat of wax on the main areas too.
Quoted from f3honda4me:7pm to 8pm is setup thursday for marco games. I assume we just park somewhere and then go into the wisconsin center.
Street parking should be free at that time of day around the facility - just check the signs. Usually it's metered until like 6pm.
Quoted from ACcookDC:Damn! Questioning if I need to go. Rather not drive back and forth from Madison 3 separate days. What else happens at the unboxing?
Nothing. There’s no show, it’s just open your game, maybe. Flip it a bit, then git gone. Not at all worth 3 hours of driving, imho. If you had a hotel room, that’d be different.
FYI, if you’re going south on 6th, the left turn to the ramp is blocked.
If you get off on kilbourne, go straight and come around the block.
Quoted from FatPanda:And that's just Kingpin's "booth"???
It's gonna be an awesome year this year!
Yuuuuup, and you can’t even see all of it. Marco is next door with 50+ more.
Quoted from KrustyBurger:Is it possible to buy a ticket for just Saturday at the event when you arrive same day, or is it necessary to pre-purchase one online? Any advantage or disadvantage either way? Thx.!
If you buy online, you *might* have less of a wait in the will-call line than the regular admission line, but it’s not required.
Quoted from kcZ:For load out... Is there a way to utilize the freight elevator for the single game load outs? Maybe they could detour Wells St for those loadings and keep the ramp for trailers and multiple game load outs. With so many vehicles, they logistics seems to be a nightmare.
This is a great way to go - but might turn into even more of a problem if too many people do it. There's a looong parking lane down there where people could pull up and load a game and scram - but you almost need your own dolly and someone else to get the car and meet you there to make it work well. You also have to get out before the Guys, Games and Beer from the 2nd floor get started unloading. They go that route and don't elevator efficiently at all, so they really clog up the works.
Quoted from Larry2771:Guys Games and Beer were not the crew holding the elevator that was a different group. Please take care if you are going to call out a group by name make sure you know who it is. I did almost all the load out from our room and I would load into the elevator then once on the next floor leave the elevator releasing to whomever. There was a group using the other freight elevator that was holding the elevator to themselves for at least an hour. We were also frustrated with it so we used the non-freight to move some of our stuff.
My mistake then. must have been the group from the very front room?
