The show was awesome, & I thought was even better than last year. My kids tire of the pinball after an hour or so, so it's nice for them to be able to go play a board game or beat each other up with foam swords. The number of NIB games seemed about right, and I didn't have to wait in line for a game more than one or two deep. The volunteers were excellent and very helpful. It was easy to drop off a game, although I didn't have to load out because it sold right before the show closed.
From my perspective, the things that could be improved:
(1) I get trying to encourage presales by opening the halls earlier, but it sucks if you bring a game and are forced to stand in the line for an hour to spend $90 to buy additional tickets for your 11 and 13 year old kids. It's not always easy to know in advance what your kids' plans are. During that hour, there were lots of times when the ticket booths were idle. A better system would be to give game-bringers the option to buy extra daily admission wristbands. Or in general take presales as a priority but allow walk-up ticket sales as attendant availability permits so you don't end up with the ridiculous line.
(2) While I was standing in the line, a guy who brought extra games was scalping wristbands. Some guy was offering all 3 (Friday, Saturday, after party) for $130. I don't know if he found a buyer or not, but that seems like there should be a rule against that kind of thing.
I do agree to some extent that there was at least some of the usual bringing of minimally working or non-working games.
Curious if anyone grabbed the $5000 Lexy Lightspeed, seemed like it could have been a great deal.
