Quoted from gweempose:Did any of you guys who bought the show games notice any damage to the backbox? I was on an Iron Maiden and the guy playing the one next to me was causing my game to shake from his nudging. They had them pushed so close together that the heads were actually touching.
I'm guessing the games didn't start all that close together, at least not so close as to be touching. One of the downsides of being in huge convention hall with cement floors is that games move real easy. I witnessed many folks making "big" saves and moving the games all over the place. This was on more than just the new games, there were a number of games being nudged across the floor. I suspect that many of the newer games, especiall arranged in groups of 4 like they were, ended up being nudged right up next to each other, such that they were touching.
I'm not sure there's much that can be done about this next year, but it would be nice if we could figure out a way to reduce the amount of sliding the games do. I'm guessing carpeting the entire show space isn't an option but if we could come up with some way to help the games stick to the floor a bit more that would reduce the potential for damamge due to games banginig into each other.
By the way, I actually asked this lady if I could take a picture of Bob. She was thumbs up as was I.

solution , carpet padding with rubber backing .
I have a tile floor , these squares make the games preform more like ones that are sitting on carpet
Quoted from PinMonk:Every time this has happened to me, it's been the EOS switch not making good, flat contact. Adjusting that took care of the issue.
I worked with Stern and Marco to fix one of them. The problem was the coil sleeve was too short. I guess they did have some issues recently with "runt" coil sleeves mixed in the batches from their supplier.

Good information, but why would a shorter coil sleeve cause an intermittent weak flipper? Drag? You would think it would be consistently weak...
Quoted from epthegeek:The games just need rubber cup feet for the front like papa does at replay fx .
Do game owners bring their own? Are they supplied by the show? How does that work?

To me it was consistently weak but some shots you couldn't tell. For example, shots close to the pivot seemed normal where ones at the end were very noticeable. And yea, the piston was dragging on the bracket...

Sometimes the coil lines up, sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, lots of drag and things not pulling in a straight line.

Quoted from davijc02:gryszzz I thought being that close to Jay while he’s wearing that contraption is supposed to bring joy instead you look a bit upset!?
Hangin with gryszzz is a good time even if he's a bit upset .

I’ve consistently heard that it is indeed a goodtime. If work wouldn’t have gotten in the way I would have made the trip to the show.
Quoted from Goonie:I didn't take a lot of photos, but ooops!
That would be my glass, thanks for posting. I was too frustrated to take a picture.

Damn! I was hoping that that was the Iron Maiden LE backglass!

He should have known better than to go out for a smoke.

so, the answer was just to replace the coil sleeves with slightly longer one?
Just posted a video of Alice Cooper's Nightmare Castle. Great sound captured thanks to the shotgun Mic

Quoted from cait001:how many of the kiddie rides sold? Hope they didn't have to haul that mass quantity all back.
I think that total is 2. I know of one for sure (to PBL) and I think Dan ended up with one.

KingPinGames is a national treasure, that is all

I'll second that. Chris for President!
Chris told me we "bought" this one for awarding him too many Best In Show trophies. I think it's really that Elias wouldn't stop talking about how much he loved it, and Norb has a big heart for kids really enjoying kiddie rides.
I wish I could have filmed Elias' face when I showed him we had it last night!

Yes He is. Pinball is great. MGC is great. But the happiness Chris and his Father brought to so many children, priceless ! There are things in the world that are important. And they hit one out of the park with their kiddie rides.

You guys are are going to make me cry. Good thing I am not reading this while driving down the road (not that I would do that... often).
Thanks for all the kind words. 2 of the rides were sold, which was our goal for the weekend. Dan said we should bring 10-15 rides in, so we said okay... then we brought in 28 instead. When you have 300+ rides in the warehouse it is tough to pick "a couple." There are so many good ones that we didn't bring, but the 28 of them took up 9/10 of the semi that we rented.
Looking forward to what will happen next year.
Thanks for all the help from everyone who made this MGC one of the best ever!
Quoted from KingPinGames:then we brought in 28 instead
Every time I walked past them it made me smile, especially when there were kids riding in them. Was a great addition to the show.
