Is there still a Saturday night party for people who bring games? If not, how late is the hall open? Trying to decide whether to bring a game and/or spend Saturday night at the hotel.

    Quoted from goatdan:

If you want a ticket though and are bringing a machine, it will only be a $35 cost. This is to cover us with additional hotel expenses for bringing in additional people, staffing the actual event, food, the lapel pins, and so on.

So if I'm bringing a game, is there some way I can buy a discounted VIP weekend pass online, or do I order the $75 pass and get a $40 refund at the show? Sorry if this was spelled out elsewhere.

I'll get him a link hopefully tonight that will unlock Tom's and the VIG / Clock Chaos if you want to do that.

Yup, my plan is VIG + Tom's party. I emailed Keith. Thanks guys!

    Quoted from goatdan:

if you want tickets to Tom's Open House, you should do that sooner than later

I'm gonna be pretty bummed if that sells out while I wait for you guys to set up the website to handle ticket sales for people bringing games. Actually, I'm going to order my ticket now. I'd rather eat the $40 or just not bring a game than miss Tom's open house.

    Quoted from calvin12:

Has it been determined if we are bringing games there's a rebate for the VIG tickets to offset the free general show admission?

Last week they emailed the (secret?) link to buy discounted tickets a few hours after I gave up waiting and paid full price. Now I'm a few PMs and emails deep into the byzantine refund process. MGC is a very well run show in almost every way, but it's a dumpster fire with regard to game-bringer discounts. I long for the days of chasing Mike Pacak for cash on Expo Sunday.

(I'm giving the MGC gang a little more grief than they deserve here, in hopes that it will straighten out the process for everyone.)

    Quoted from CraigC:

The bad thing is forget about playing in the game hall Saturday and Sunday prime time as there are too many people. I'd rather just wait for the Midnight -> 4am slot and get thrown out.

Yeah, on Saturday afternoon I took a nap, went beer shopping, and hit a sushi bar. The main show is too crowded for me to enjoy. Thankfully I had enough fun late Saturday night to last me the whole weekend.

    Quoted from Whysnow:

I would like to see a major overhaul of the MGC website. I know it was very hard for people to have the info they needed or to find it when they needed it.

Cosigned. There's a whole lot of website, but not much easy information. Too many menu bars, sidebars, image links that lead to more image links, and zero mobile optimization. Live tourney standings are almost impossible to find.

    Quoted from goatdan:

Toys R Us has told us it's one of their best weekends every year, and I don't know about Sears, but the ownership group for the entire mall allows us full use of their parking lot in writing every year.

Outside of xmas shopping season, it's probably the best weekend for the mall food court.
