    Fly out or drive there, inspect the machines in person, pay in cash. Arrange shipping or load them for the return.

    Otherwise, check reputation thoroughly, ask for references, check pinside, rgp, google, etc.

    There is no perfect method. Use common sense. Don't forget that both the buyer and seller need safety.

    Good sellers will try to build a positive image which is then easy to check.
