I got 2 PF's one with grey and one without. There are also extra holes for GI lights, and no dimples for the extra two starposts under the left plastics. No big deal. Yeah the art is Not as original, the colors I feel are better. My real Peeve is that the listed Pre-order prices, were much lower than the actual final costs. Because the new pre-order/boutique pre order didn't hold you to honoring buying one if you signed up. Over all it's still better than a blown out PF, but purists will not like it at all. The laser cut dimples on the back.. Meh, seemed alright. Tombstone targets for the 3's is tight and they rub on the ends and catch, 1's and 2's seem to fit fine. The markings for the METEOR drops is off so adjust your drops to center in the drop target slot. Everything else seem to line up fairly well. The center post between the flippers is off center with the art. Holes for the side rails, and those that have metal rails you will have to drill those holes as half are missing.

Quoted from ita47:

So what are they charging for the pre-orders? If I remember correctly when I signed up it showed $699 as the pre-order price. I'm still waiting on my email from CPR.

It was $599 it's now $749

Quoted from Coyote:

THIS really surprises me. Is CPR sub-contracting out? Can you grab come pics of the GI light holes and dimples for comparison?

Here are photos showing the extra holes. Looks like it was screened on original, and they drilled it. As for the other two posts that are missing dimples no big deal, they are under the left side plastic. Looks like they are there to keep the plastic from dipping down to prevent balls sticking if they get up there. Probably an after thought from stern.

From CPR:

"The answer to the question is steeped in many reasons:

- the Meteor Inbox went up on our site in Feb 2016. Four years ago.
Things have changed.
- the gameboard wood has doubled, since
- inserts out of Chicago have tripled, some quadrupled (they just don't
like running them anymore)
- the good high-solids high-VOC clearcoat has gone up 50%, as PPG barely
makes it anymore
- Royalties have gone up 5% for everything Bally/Williams - but we left
the legacy plastics/glass prices alone
(I know Meteor is Stern, but our price increase in playfields in general
helps absorb this for all the other products)
- the business has grown from 4 people (2016) to 8 people (2020) to keep
all this moving
- the Meteor run was ~70 playfields instead of the typical 100+ for
silkscreening - but we screened anyway.

Even after all this, we're still hovering around $800 for a typical CPR
playfield. Mirco in Germany has been $1000 for the last 3 years, no
problem. So we're in the pocket, and doing what we can. There are
often lower priced options for lower graded candidates, for the price
sensitive.

Keep in mind, Meteor was never a Preorder. It was a Boutique Zone inbox
counting heads. Prices listed were always noted as "Estimated Price",
as we never knew what or when the future would bring. So here we are 4
years later, when it was finally worth doing. "

Thx

- Kevin
