Quoted from Quench:

I think I see battery corrosion on the U8 RAM chip. Pay attention to the red LED on the MPU board when you power up. Its activity will help indicate any MPU board issues.

Looking a little closer,. There definitely some corrosion starting on the ground trace and around C13 & U8. Should be fairly easy to neutralize and fix.

Quoted from hisokajp:

the one thing I always do is replace the rectifier board and repin its connectors. Some $ and time but always save future headaches

Probably the best use of $50 for any Bally/Stern of this era. I almost always replace the rectifier even if the original looks to be in good condition.

I do find that the nvram.weebly DIY kits are high quality, and a very affordable.

Quoted from RGarriott:

Finally got the Meteor up and goin. I bought it back in the early summer, tore it down cleaned and touched up the playfield, then cleared it. The cab was pretty decent so it just got a good scrub. New rubbers and color matched leds for the inserts. New weebly sound, power and driver board. I pulled the T2 for some maintenance and slid the meteor in the lineup.
I put in a few before and after pics of bringing it back to life. It was pretty bad. The 40 yrs if dirt us crazy on these old machines.
I plan on doin the code update also.
Merry Christmas everyone.

The playfield turned out great. What did you use to clear the playfield?

Take a close look at your inlane guides. I can't tell from your pictures if they are on reverse, or maybe the flippers are hanging a little lower than usual causing it to look off.

You will use the larger holes below the battery. You may need to add a small jumper wire to connect the holes to make proper connection if there is any corrosion.
