Looks great! I would never have the patience to paint that!

Oh that looks sweet.
Quoted from Tmezel:I am, working on it today.
Will it come painted or unpainted? Unpainted I hope.

Are you planning to make the AcDc version also?
Quoted from MustangPaul:Will it come painted or unpainted? Unpainted I hope.
I'll go for a painted one, Ray Charles could paint better than me

Can someone help me with the speaker hook up... I get the power input but what clips to the speaker terminals. I have a blue for the low input and yellow for the high input off the pigtail. Thanks in advance

If I understand correctly, you have a blue wire going to the the low input, which is terminal 2 on the barmeter, and your other wire is yellow high input, which goes to terminal 3 on the barmeter. If that is true, then just clip the yellow wire to the pos (+) speaker wire and the blue wire to the neg (-) speaker wire.
ok, I kinda thought so but the Low, high input me me off rather than +/-. Didn't want to bbQ anything. Thanks so much

Polarity from the speaker shouldn't make a difference.
I like this mod and I am interested but just wondering from those that installed it if it is distracting or too bright during game play?
Quoted from marksf123:I like this mod and I am interested but just wondering from those that installed it if it is distracting or too bright during game play?
Definitely not too bright. Whether or not it is distracting would depend on placement and your sensibilities.
I have a premium which is a pretty bright playfield. I purchased the 30 bar model and mounted it to the left side of the right ramp. IMHO, it looks great and once gameplay starts you don't really even notice it. Fun mod, I just have to make a frame for it now!
I just installed the VU meter and made a video of the install. Also listed the parts and links that are needed on my website.

I finally have my MET and would be very interested in a plug and play version of this mod. Can anyone help a brother out?
Contact one of the modders, they are always lookin to make stuff.
Quoted from MustangPaul:Contact one of the modders, they are always lookin to make stuff.
I thought someone was working on it...anyone?
Hmmm
Looks like "vu120P-5712S BH12CB7041" is no longer available. However I did find "vu120P-5712S BH05CA7041"
Anyone know what the difference is? The part number is really close and I have the feeling the one I found runs on 5vdc instead of 12.
Sudsy are you still selling the case?
Michael
case is on shapeways

Does it work on the 5v or 12 volt ? I should make these mods, i like to paint and make pinball mods. win , win

You would sell a ton of them. I think a lot of people are waiting for a plug and play solution.

I am.....100%. Do it MF!!
got one of those about a year ago for my ac/dc, you can ask to have it built, cost a few $ more.
it's 5 volts, easy to install and i'm pretty sure swinks case will fit on it. in the end it won't cost you a lot.
just look for LED DIY Kit Music Spectrum VU Meter on https://www.aliexpress.com
but i think someone should ask the OP first if he still makes them.
Quoted from beatmaster:but i think someone should ask the OP first if he still makes them.
I never sold them - it's fairly easy to put one together yourself which is what I have encouraged. However, it seems like quite a few folks would still rather pay for a plug-n-play kit. I think Modfather would do a great job and probably vastly improve the appearance with his artistic skill. Let's hope he does it.

good, i was under the impression people we're waiting for an update, i'm sure modfather will come up with something.
Quoted from swinks:it's not my case but sudsy has made it available at Shapeways, I just provided the link....
yeah, i should have said the case swinks was talking about, sorry about that.

no worries I just didn't want credit for the OP's nice work. all good

It works on either 5v or 12v - just buy the appropriate barmeter with the voltage you want. Also, there is a "plain" case available now at Shapeways that you can install your own custom faceplate to personalize it as you like with any photo/print. It's nice to be able to modify a mod whenever you like. The first picture just shows some custom faceplates I made - possibilities are endless. Maybe this will get MF's artistic juices flowing?
