Quoted from 7Warpig7:Celine Dion has sold twice as many albums as Metallica, so what is exactly is your album sales statement trying to say?
Metallica doesn't have close to the quantity or quality of recent material as Iron Maiden. Unlike Metallica, Maiden never changed their music because they saw an opportunity to get on MTV or make more money or follow the latest trend.
I'll wager the quantity of hardcore fans willing and able to drop thousands of dollars on a pinball machine are pretty close to even for Metallica and Maiden. The problem for Stern is that this quantity is far far less than the quantity AC/DC or The Rolling Stones has. I cannot see Metallica being a big seller among the general population because of this.
Lets not pretend album sales has nothing to do with potential sales of a pinball machine, but I do agree think Maiden would make a nice pin as well.
It'll be tough to reproduce the AC/DC pin's success because Ritchie had a blank check to design his game, and I'll take a wild guess that Borg won't get the same treatment.
