Metallica Pro start button issue

My met pro is about two years old now and has been on free play since I bought it NIB. Lately, after I turn it on, press start and play the first game, nothing happens when I hit the start button to play again. The start button is fully illuminated but doesn’t work. To get it to start, I then either have to power off and back on or open the coin door and adjust one of the buttons (ex volume up or down), then the start button works when I press it. Any suggestions for fixing this? Thank you.
