So I just ordered my First Pin, Metallica Pro, and I could not be more excited to get it. I am going to be being doing a bit of work to it, and will take tons of pics and videos of the process, and mods for all to see. So far here is whats on order:

• PinGraffix Creeping Death Power Bladez: https://goo.gl/W8EjoC
• PinGraffix Snake mod: https://goo.gl/hrpDcK
• PinGraffix Snake mouth decal: https://goo.gl/LfoDYZ
• Mezel Mods Snake Fangs: https://goo.gl/okKFz5
• Mezel Mods Flashing Cemetery Arch: https://goo.gl/Lh65mS
• Mezel mods Sparks 2-wire Electrocution Helmet: https://goo.gl/8kqiXw
• Mezel Mods Pile of skulls fipper bats: https://goo.gl/HC6jZt
• Mezel Mods Trough lighting kit: https://goo.gl/DqbRdS
• Iamdarras Neon Sling Guides and Protectors: https://goo.gl/nzJVYy

Other Mods in the plan are:
• Powder coating all metal candy apple green.
• Powder coating right ramp cage to match snake.
• Adding a shaker motor, Color DMD, and subwoofer!

Why don't you just play it ?

#3 7 years ago

stoptap oh I'm gonna play it till the legs fall off lol, just wanna add some uniqueness to it

#4 7 years ago

Add spinners!

#5 7 years ago

If you don't add the total light show you're a dumb dumb!

I've spent more time customizing my machines than playing them. Not everyone is in the hobby strictly to play. I get great satisfaction in making them my own.

Agreed, plus I just love to customize things, I'm a designer lol,

The first mod to buy is the Total Lightshow kit. Everything else can wait.

Total Lightshow or bust!

How ironic is this, so get a knock at the door, and its the delivery guy. He says "I have a delivery for you, but i think it should be going to my house". Turns out the guys nickname is "Metallica Mike" and he has all the band members signatures tattooed on his calfs. Could not be a nicer guy, but he was SUPER envious, told him he should come by and play some time

I'd do the shaker, pinovators front panel and a subwoofer first. Also a few shooter lane cliffies. It adds to the experience.
Everything else is just icing.

Play it, tune it, dial it in and then start putting the mods on.

This game is just a blast!! So much fun, one thing I noticed is the lights on the backboard are actually terribly bright does anyone swap those out for other colors ???

We have a blue back board light that diffuses the white from the bulbs in the back and sharpens the detail on the back board. Purple also works well in metallica.

chuckcasey any recommendations on a sub, and are most people doing external? I would love to just upgrade the internal one?

#25 7 years ago

You need to add external sub and my spinner kit....the pop bumper caps are a nice touch too...Hookedonpinball.com

Where is a good place to buy other colors of LED bulbs? for the backboard? and under the return lanes? Anyone know what bulbs they are?

I buy Comet, crazy large selection. Those are 47 style bulbs.

Polk PSW10 is a great little subwoofer. I have it under my WOZ. When I bought my Metallica Premium, I happened to have a leftover Mackie subwoofer from my old audio/video production studio. It barely fits under the cab and holy crap...when I hit the spinners I can feel my legs vibrate. Is it overkill? Absolutely! But why not put a spare subwoofer to use!

So what I'm saying is, get a subwoofer hooked up pronto.

Hey guys so i got a bunch of goodies today one of which is a trough drain light. However i can not figure out where to safely attach the alligator clips for power and this is the only instructions :
https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B18V2Lyll3xhRGVPWW8xX0xDc1E
any help would be great!

#32 7 years ago

Under the sling shot there are gi sockets, attach it to one of those sockets. You may have to peel back the black heat shrink. Attach the clips securely to each lug of the socket. Ensure the clips don't touch anything but the lugs. 2 minute install.

We carry crazy bright 5SMD towers that illuminate great in multiple directions. I always use them under slings and in return lanes, assuming the hole in the lane guide will accomodate them. I would suggest blue for MET, whether you buy them from us or anybody else.

Thanks guys doing the gi sockets got it all booked up looks nice! However I was playing it today and. I cited something unfortunate. I was going after the grave markers and had knocked the first two down and then hit a dribbler up the cemetery and it got stuck on the second one up, as it does. It retract far enough into the play field . Even if I shook the table nothing I got the tilt error and had to shut it off (see photo) any suggestions can this be adjusted? Thank you

Enlight3 (resized).jpgEnlight3 (resized).jpg

#35 7 years ago

Yes it can be adjusted. There is a screw at the bottom of the drop target mechanism that allows you to set the height.

#37 7 years ago

Got the Trough light in! What a difference, and added the skull bats. thanks Lermods

trough (resized).pngtrough (resized).png

#38 7 years ago

Gave sparky the totally necessary light up el wires and added the cemetery sign. Both add so much to the overall play field experience

If you want to make a BIG change in the look of your pf get a colored plastic apron.

I'd go all the way with a le style chrome monster apron. I just happen to have one. hookedonpinball.com.

It ties into GI and sparky getting fried.

Yup that too, I have yours on my ST Pro and Avatar LE. And to top off my ST Pro I'm getting chrome legs, shooter housing, lolly pop rails (no screw holes), lock down bar and hinges.

#43 7 years ago

Mr. Snake got his tongue and tail, what a difference, gives the right side of the play field A much more deserved "finished" look.

Colordmd and subwoofer are a must for MET. Easy to install and makes a big difference.

#46 7 years ago

So i was playing MET today and the ball did something super odd right in front of the Mystery hole. Upon closer inspection i noticed that my play-field has some sort of clear sticker / protector on it. The ball had got hung up on the edge and made it take a really odd bounce. Does everyone else have this on their machine.

I attached a photo you can kinda see what i am talking about. It roughly an inch wide and 3 inches long directly in front of the Mystery Hole.

All the text on inserts in any machine is decals.

I assume you are talking of a piece of Mylar in front of the scoop. This is to protect the playfield when the ball comes out with force from the scoop.

So i just got my fuel Target led mod from MezelMods. Im a little confused here...

So the image of the part on their site, and the part used in their install here: https://mezelmods.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202658499-Fuel-Target-Lights, is nothing like I received. I understand these machines change, forcing somce mode to be altered... but i mean this is drastically different.

The lights should be aimed at the play field... thus the light would be coming through the fuel targets slot and into the play field... However mine are glued in parallel to the play field and aimed kinda no where??? Additionally they have also installed a black "bounce card" to prevent light leakage... would be nice to have gotten that... ? Pretty confused See attached pic for details

Would love any input. Lermods
