Noticing my new met pro has a bunch of dimple looking ball marks on the playfield especially up around Sparky. Is this normal? The ball literally flys around quite a bit up there. I've never had a new pin before, obviously wanting to protect this one.

Search for dimple or dimpling in the forum.

Every new Stern demo at Arcade Expo 4.0 (including my Batman 66) came away with PF dimpling.

Dimpling is completely normal and nothing to be concerned about.

This is a lightning rod question.

Depends on who you ask. People with new Sterns say it's normal. People with anything but new Sterns say it's not. Either way most here believe it's softer/cheaper wood.

I see you have 17 other machines that do not have any dimples or you wouldn't be asking.

Do you have the sparky extended protector? Magnet protector as well in front of sparky?

Oh boy, this is a sensitive topic. They are normal. All the CGC, Stern, and JJ games at the barcade I was at recently have them. But, Pandora’s box has been opened. Proceed at your own risk.

Normal ....
I bought a playfield protector when my MET came years ago NIB. After unboxing ... dimples from testgames in the factory, so no need for a protector anymore .....
