Quoted from Jarbyjibbo:Most of us with that issue now have a sparky extended protector. I got mine from Pinbits but there are other available.
How does that protector work to prevent the airballs? Its difficult to say looking at the Pinbits site since I can't see a picture of the protector. Perhaps a picture of the protector installed on a game would help me see it, if someone could post such a picture.
Quoted from Butterflygirl24:I swapped out the small rubbers on the 2 posts in front of Sparky for posts that a Cliffy style rubber fits on and we haven't had the issue.
Cool, thanks Phoebe. I'll look into that. So, replace the posts with standard posts with Cliffy post sleeves installed, right?
As a new Metallica owner I have to say the size of this thread is daunting, 211 pages and still growing. Before I wade thru all of those pages, is there something that summarizes the common adjustments that people have been making to their Metallica pins? Adjustments for proper gameplay or to prevent breakage. And perhaps something else that summarizes the mods available?
Quoted from stoptap:Sadly US games won't work over here. They are region locked.
Really - how does this work? Obviously you would need to convert to using 220v, but how does the machine know where it is located?
Quoted from TimeBandit:AC Electricity supply frequency.
Very interesting! I'm no expert, but I bet someone sells a device that could convert your 220 to the current used in the US so you could run a US version of the machine. Just a thought.
I'll be wading my way thru all 10,000+ posts in this thread, but it will take a while.
Would anyone like to offer the most important modifications of adjustments to make to this pin (Pro incandescent model) when starting at factory default? I don't typically go crazy with mods, but I know it isn't uncommon for there to be a few essential mods or adjustments to make to pins to get them playing and looking good, and perhaps prevent breakage as well.
I just installed a Rev B shaker tonight, and I have a full set of Cliffy's on order to help prevent wear. I'll address the Sparky airballs using the suggestions offered a few posts above this one. Are there any other things I should look at right away? I'm not likely to do a full LED conversion.
Quoted from roddog:Well shit. So I gotta buy a new board, huh? That's pinball!
Or do as suggested and replace the sand resistor that is missing from your existing board?
Has anyone had issues with the snake fangs slipping out?
Previous owner installed snake fangs from Mezelmods which look fabulous! Recently though they have started to slip out, with increasing frequency. After some games of play I'll see that they have started to slide forward out of the mouth, and before you know it they slide all the way forward and drop out. The fang piece itself looks undamaged.
I didn't install the fangs, so I don't have the installation instructions. Could someone share a copy please please? They could be helpful as I try to figure out why the fangs have started falling out and what I may need to do to stop this from happening.
Thanks, that's exactly what I need. My snake fangs snap into place properly, and the split hoop on the back edge of the fangs doesn't look damaged at all. But they seem to slip out over time during game play. Looks like I should try tightening the screw inside the snake's mouth with an offset driver. I'll give that a try and report back.
Quoted from Cloud7:Anyone ever have the nylon diverter post just fall out onto the playfield?
No, but I replaced mine with the metal diverter post. For me, that solved bounce back issues with left orbit shots. Maybe it's a sign you need to put in the metal diverter post???
