Does the Dirty Donny premium have any difference in value as compared to the other premium version? Thanks.

#17393 4 years ago
Quoted from j_m_:

the dirty Donny premium has a hand painted sparky, snake and hammer (by the man himself) in what is otherwise a monsters premium game

Thanks for confirming. After buying an Iron Maiden and Metallica, have decided to keep the Metallica! Game rocks!

Quoted from Vino:

Gotta, Love that “greatest pin” poll thread.
Pinsider says “meh” to owning rock pins or them being top.
Lol, that’s crazy talk!

Considering I own a Kiss, GnR, Metallica, Tommy, Elvis, AC/DC, I have to disagree Also, my Dr Who has the music changed to Rush and my Getaway, the Clash.

What are your thoughts on PIN2DMD for Metallica? Is the conversion 100% complete? Thanks for the advice.

Has anyone used this brand for their powdercoating? Looking for a nice purple that may look good on Metallica. Thanks.

Not much left to do to this premium. Powder coating came out great Candy purple (PPS 4442) Prismatic Powders for anyone interested.F8C6DC2A-7DF4-473B-A97D-D7B5DA9FE787 (resized).jpegF8C6DC2A-7DF4-473B-A97D-D7B5DA9FE787 (resized).jpegB3A961AE-3C75-41D8-A5ED-72FE96637A6D (resized).jpegB3A961AE-3C75-41D8-A5ED-72FE96637A6D (resized).jpeg

#18395 3 years ago
Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:

I definitely agree the purple is best. I think green looks 'okay'..certainly good enough if I just leave mine as-is..but that purple....guh!
I've been looking for an excuse to powdercoat something purple. Tron felt like a bit of a stretch (although at least the TRON letters are purple) but Metallica.....Ugh. It feels like it just needs to be done. lol
Guess I need to go looking for some used rails/legs/lock bar so I can get rolling on it. I'm not sure I can handle having either machine down while parts are off being beautified.

These are a nice option if you plan to buy new side rails anyway. Would look great in purple.

Quoted from Sparky:

You should only need to remove the plastic over the drops. Feed the wire through the hole to the left of the flasher behind the cross. From the underside, remove the bayonet holder of the flasher. Replace the flasher with the one they provided, and I think you need to connect the cemetary wire to the new flasher wire (it's been a while, but I think there are tiny connectors). Replace the plastic, but before putting on the nuts, put the cemetary on the threaded post and secure with the nut. I believe only one side gets secured? Can't remember. Be careful when securing. The 3D print material is vulnerable and will break if you secure too tight.
Hope that helps.

I have that mod, didn't realize it should flash. Came with my game.

That's the first time I saw powder coating and said "I want to do that too".
What's that color?

You can see my photos a few pages back. Candy purple is what I used. Looks great.

Quoted from BigalzPinz:

I’ll ask the kids if I can borrow their construction paper, and scissors so I can make some Pin Blade Protectors, I’ll let you know if they work “ exactly “ like the Pinball Life Protectors,,,,,if they do , I’ll be very disappointed in myself for spending 35.00 on something that was totally unnecessary,,,,,

The Pinball Life sideblade protectors are probably the best money I have spent on a pinball mod. Works on all brands and has magnets built in to keep it snug. Worth every penny IMO.

Well, I quit the club this morning, moved out my HUO Met LE MoP and making way for a Godzilla Premium. It was fun while it lasted.

I traded my MET Premium for a MB LE and then regretted it. Sold the MB LE and bought back a fully loaded MET Premium, so was very happy to now have the colordmd, topper and pinstadium lighting for no extra cost

Quoted from KongDonkey:

Finally back in the club! I have a quick question for anyone who might know just because I am curious…my Met prem has dirty donnys autograph on the translite and was bought nib like this. The previous owner diddnt realize it was there until it was pointed out to him. So does anyone have any recollection of dirty Donny signing a few of these for distributors? I’m aware of the other limited run where he painted the figures but this one is stock except for the translite.
[quoted image]

Could it be one of the Dirty Donny Premium edition versions? As your toys don't look painted, guess not. But it did come with the signed translite.

You buy that from saskatoon?! He made the bracket himself and bought the mod from spinny-vinny. There's a thread on here explaining how Tim did it.

Not sure who the original owner was? Bought it from second owner in Toronto. Has the custom Sparky as well. Still trying to figure out what the writing on the knuckles means.

I do everything with the door closed because I read some old posts that said if you turn off Metallica with the door open it can blow some fuses or a board or something. I've been paranoid about it ever since, but since no one mentions it I assume it's not an issue anymore?
I ordered the pinball refinery creeping death art blades and light rails... they're going to be delivered in a day or two and I can't wait, they looked very cool from the videos I saw.

Hope u don’t get stuck w duty.

I am working on some flipper button protectors for Metallica. These are some prototype photos for sizing so actual will be a nicer material. They will be cut onto black plexiglass (or any custom color if you have powdercoating). I may add metallic paper under neigh so the "Metallica" name stands out more.

Plan to work on the Rush LE guitar next to make it available for the Pro/Premium. Please let me know if any interest for MET owners. Thanks.

Quoted from Kkoss24:

I’m really liking that see through look .Is it a add on to the lollipops ?

I didn't think see through would look good as it would then be hard to see the Metallica name. It would be a separate product from lollipops. It would be made from plexiglass. I would also add felt pads under neigh the flipper protector to ensure the material did not stick to the decals over time. Some of the other clear plastic flipper protectors do stick to the decals.

Will have the Metallica flipper button protectors available shortly in my Pinside store for sale, preorder link is below. They will be $80US for the pair plus shipping. They are attached with three screws and have an insert that fits under the lockdown bar. Very easy installation, fit over the flipper buttons and under the siderails. Only need to remove the lockdown bar to install. Comes in clear or metallic lettering.0B8F9A1B-9A51-46A8-854A-3F8D5636BF05 (resized).png0B8F9A1B-9A51-46A8-854A-3F8D5636BF05 (resized).png

Hi there. I got these for my Premium Monster. From Pinball Center Germany. I ordered and received them late last year. They fit really well and feel good to the touch during play.
True, very true. They aren't the same. But the overwhelming similarity means you could mod the powder coat colour, and maybe decal the "Master of Puppets" down the side.
After looking for other side armours, getting excited, then seeing "out of stock" when I tried to order, it may well be your best bet at this stage.
Good luck whichever way you go.

Never liked the translite on my Pro so decided to upgrade to a real glass premium translite from Europe. Also installed the LED backbox board from Arcade Upkeep. I think these are one of the best mods for your buck if you have any games with the tube lighting. You can control the brightness separately for game play and attract mode.

This is the one I ordered. Pretty sure there are no option to control the brightness behind the translite in the settings. Think this was only available starting with Spike 2. Great way to reduce any glare during game play.
