No, I was looking for the cheap ebay one people are using. There's been a link but I cant find. Lermods are too nice fr me
Quoted from hoby1:Hayfarmers is done
Response once has been excellent so please be patient as I only have one printer and so much time.
Thx Allen[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Looks great!!!
Quoted from embryon:Hope I'm not annoying people posting this stuff but here's my first painted and in position prototype of the coffin that covers the ball hop plastic. I did make a mistake in painting under the lid black and then realised I covered the cross. Sanded a good bit of it off too let the light through again. Currently it turns on and off with the white gi.
[quoted image][quoted image]
[quoted image]
Looks great. U gonna be selling them?
Quoted from embryon:If it turns out well then yes I'd be in on that. I'll post my final designs when done. Thanks fir your interest btw
Lookin forward to it
Quoted from Dee-Bow:shooter rod, sparky, and snake mod w/ramp pieces all done by spinny-vinny. (apparently he has moved on from pinball mods & not sure he sells stuff anymore)
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Great lookin!
I thought the creeping death uv lighting, decals, and side art blades for $75.00 was a steal from pinball refinery. I don't understand why everyone doesn't do it for
Pull plunger out and check for clear easy movement in the housing. I got a burr in acdc, ran a drill thru it just to clean, not enlarge . DONT MAKE IT BIGGER
Quoted from yzfguy:Not sure how a burr would end up in there, but maybe a round file would be less violent?
I dont know either, brass burr fell out. I put bit in chuck and turned by hand. Exact size so was easy to do. 2 years ago, hasn't been out since.
Quoted from Lysurgeon:I am looking to purchase a sparky helmet mod because it just looks silly without it. Does anyone have one for sale or know anyplace in the states that I can order one? I've had a hard time trying to find one.
I bought on ebay in june from this seller. Might message him
Quoted from Spiderpin:Purchased a LCD ColorDMD for Metallica today. Plus one for TWD, GoT and Mustang. And saved some money by not buying a topper.
Maybe. But I think they do look good
20201014_145056 (resized).jpgBest part was $300 shipped. Was real lucky , just looking at ads and asked guy if he would sell separate from game
Quoted from Spiderpin:I just received my (4) ColorDMD LCD this week. Metallic should be installed tomorrow. Installed one in GoT and TWD. I picked the LCD because you can customer selection of 49 different color hues and three different display effects (classic dots, high-definition upscaling, and scan lines) and of course download firmware for your game it's going to be mounted in. Hope this helps some. This was my 1st purchase so I'm no expert.
How much and where did ya buy? Been contemplating one,,,,,
Quoted from RobF:Would it be a reasonable compromise to just attenuate all of the callouts? Do the parental settings also beep out song swears as well?
You can turn off adult mode in settings
Quoted from Apex:Yes but even with adult mode off you can still get "hell yeah" which some may find not be suitable for the kids.
If hell disturbs someone then they should not have this game. To each his own,
Quoted from Rickwh:Yes everything is the same on the dmd. Family mode puts some almost sarcastically placed beeps over the curse words I believe. It’s obvious what is really being said to me anyways.
Jack-fu<beep>n-pot!
Rick
One of the best callouts in pinball. Laugh every time hetfield says
Quoted from Jecco74:On a Sam system you can turn it up to 30 without damaging anything. Spike is recommended to set at 20. Pinwoofer is a game changer for my pins.
I just put it on led zeppelin, and what a diff! Had older set up on met and maiden, but new kit blows em away
Quoted from TronGuy:I bought ninja chromes. Guess I need to buy some cheap ones.
I've been using bc precision off Amazon for 3 years . Dont look at ratings , I've had Nothing but perfect every time I've ordered, probably 200 balls in total. And on prime, free return if needed. Lots of Amazon reviews are on all products a company has, not specific to what you're ordering. These are packed in oil and if you buy 50 or so, pretty cheap. I change out once a year, and they still look great when I do.
Quoted from pinballjah:Not much left to do to this premium. Powder coating came out great Candy purple (PPS 4442) Prismatic Powders for anyone interested.[quoted image][quoted image]
Very pretty! My purple armor should arrive this week I hope!
Prerty sure it field glass and backglass. Pretty normal. I put anti vibration tape on field and a bit of foam insulation behind backglass
Quoted from Lermods:I think others have made cross mods, but we designed our own and made them a little interactive by tying them into the two top inlane inserts.
[quoted image]
Very nice. Can I get it in purple?
Quoted from Viggin900:Don't you find Guardians repetitious with Metallica in a small line up? Its the exact same shots, I get the code changes a lot but still. I don't think I could do both.
Totally diff games. I thought that as well but they are nothing alike. Gotg has much tighter shots, better lights, but met is bolted down here forever!
Quoted from Roostking:Gotg is the exact same layout. Shot geometry is no different than MET
Well, you haven't played it enough or at all then. They shoot way different. The orb shot is way tighter than snake , scoop in gotg is easier to hit than met, rocket is tighter and no inline drops. That bein said, my met is a pro, no spinners, and gotg is an le with 2 spinners with different sounds. Love em both. And with cleland sd card, it is much better than original track.
Quoted from swampfire:To be fair, all of the blue people in GOTG got on my nerves. I did like Cleland’s mix though, that helped the game a lot. Oddly it’s one of the few games my wife ever commented on me selling, because she liked the music.
Ya, I avoid the mode where he says that as long as possible..grest game , not as good as met for sure, but still fun
Id be in on a set too, but have no access to a scanner where I live. Keep us updated on when available
Quoted from Jamesays:new to me today
[quoted image][quoted image]
Wow , just awesome!!!
I just installed a color dmd lcd today and I can't believe what I've been missing for the 3 yrs I've owned this pin. Highly recommend it if you haven't yet.
Quoted from finnflash:You may have been the last one to do so, enjoy!
Heyyyy, be nice. I know of a few that still haven't
Quoted from BigalzPinz:Yep... just installed mine as well, so your not the last one.... Its always a " should I or can I live without it " when it comes to mods for your game, but the color dmd is a complete must have. It brings out so much more to the game ! Good Move ! Enjoy
I'm glad I got it as a birthday gift. Cuz I never would of spent that much. But now seeing it, I wish I would of done it day 1. So much more to see, my scores are suffering!!
Quoted from BigalzPinz:Install was very simple an straight forward, especially if you have an older MET with wood speaker panel, but still easy with the metal speaker panel, just a little more hardware to buy, took about 10 min
Easy except loading zip drive. Make sure its says chroma4.1. It downloads chroma1 4.1and won't load until you remove the 1.
Quoted from Roostking:Im one of those owners who hasnt bought.. Original owner LE . I need to change that!
That's terrible. You should sell it to me and be done with it
Quoted from swampfire:I really want to try a PinWoofer on AS and MET, but I’m worried that I’ll get addicted like I did with PDI glass. Nothing like a $2000 pinball glass buy to raise the wife’s eyebrows.
Amazing on met, zepp and maiden
Quoted from ralphs007:Placed my order yesterday for my Color Dmd LCD. I'm putting the Power Blades on hold, since they could cause problems with my machine.
One of the best mods out there. I can't believe what i missed seeing for 3 years.
Quoted from maffewl:Hey everyone! Update on the custom Met plastic protectors.
Really appreciate everyone's comments from previous posts and through PM. I've made the adjustments. Images attached of the final version.
This set shown in the photos will be headed to finnflash at no cost for helping to get these traced and confirmed. Many thanks!
Note: If anyone has a different machine that they think an idea such as this would be good for, please let me know. Or, keep an eye on other club threads as I have a few other machines in mind.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
So what is the cost of these, before shipping? Very interested in a set.
Quoted from maffewl:Very much appreciate the interest!
I'm working through that now. With the "hooks" extending out on these, it makes it much more difficult to be efficient with material. Once I figure out the most efficient layout, that will reduce cost. At the moment, it's looking like a full set will be in the $20-ish range.
Ok, put me down for a set and let me know when you're ready to ship. Thx
Quoted from maffewl:Hey everyone, just wanted to give a final update on these as finnflash was kind enough to test fit/finish and send over a few sweet images.
If interested see Market ad below.
Thanks all!

Ordered!!
Quoted from maffewl:Hey everyone. Not looking to over-saturate the thread, but wanted to share something that I got pretty excited about yesterday. I made these while making a few plastic protectors for other club members. These are similar to my Deadpool "Throwing Star Washers". Posting here in case anyone is interested. Thanks all!

Pm sent
Recieved my plastic protectors and stars from maffewl today. Very quick shipping and more importantly, excellent quality. I think they look great. I put 2smd clear lens bulbs under them, might try to find a bit stronger light. Great job and thanks!!

Big difference!! Look how the light plays off these . I guess I need to wear my glasses more often

Hilarious!
Quoted from Sparky:Hence, the quotation marks.
Haha, I was laughing along with you. Hard to imagine what they were thinkin when they put back together
I just played for about an hour, and honestly, is there a better total package out there? Theme, code, music, art, callouts, full band participation, lighting are all stellar. Still the best pin I've ever owned.
Quoted from Vernisious:To each his own but I don't feel the same.
Theme is obviously subjective.
Code is refreshing that it's different but too convoluted. How many coffin shots do I need? Oh let me trap up and skip through a bunch of worthless info to get the only thing I care about. I guess I like mode driven games better.
Music is top notch.
Art is good enough.
Call outs are meh for me. Have you seen a snake puke?
I don't understand the full band participation. What did they participate on?
I agree the lighting can be stellar.
It's a fun pin. Maybe mine shoots so hard that I don't get very far. It's a fun pin but out of my 11 owned, I might put it last or close to it. Just not for me. It shoots smooth and I have fun playing it. Not best in any category tho.
I have a buddy lookin for met. Happy to buy if you're looking to sell. In washington state, so not too far away.
Quoted from embryon:I sill own both and sticking to my comment
Hey, im not arguing , both games are good, in different ways. The soundtrack on gb is what killed it for me.
Quoted from Spiderpin:I'll be installing these from Pingraffix today on my Metallica
[quoted image]
I've got those too. Looks amazing!!
Quoted from yzfguy:Just got back from the Allentown show and upgraded from Pingraffix Pinblades to their Power blades. I was thinking that my hemi mod with the blacklight strips might not be as visible with these, but holy hell! They look fantastic. The blacklight effect pops even more, and the powerblade effect looks so good when the rest of the gi dims. Get you some powerblades I wish I could post a video here.
You can . Put it on utube, then share it from there. Would love to see powerblades
Quoted from Jamesays:I got my pro for a very reasonable price and its the only pro in my row but its as much or more fun than any LE or prem I own.My family will decide if it stays or goes after I go to the Pearly Gates
Well said!!!
Quoted from ralphs007:Thanks,I'm glad I didn't drain to find that out. The only thing I hate about Metallica is the noise the machine makes when you win a free game! It made me jump out of my skin when it want off. I disabled that the first week I had the game.
I love it! Especially when someone isn't expecting it.
Quoted from insight75:So you really are a hay farmer! Nice!
Why would anyone pretend to be a farmer? They'd be crazy!
Quoted from Roostking:You mean, it gave you Insight!
I can't for the life of me figure out what roostking is
Great pics!! We've been to Oregon dunes a few times, but never to CA. Is that where these were shot?
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:I’m so fuckin sick of Enter Sandman. If it wasn’t a crank it up song I’d get rid of that shit. That Miley Cyrus rendition sucked IMO.
Enter sandman is fine. Cyrus doing it, not so much
Recieved maffewls plastic protectors today, great fit and look. I had his purple ones on for over 200 games, no issues, I just like the look of green better. Thanks, highly recommend.
20220105_155121 (resized).jpg20220105_155124 (resized).jpg20220105_155151 (resized).jpg20220105_155154 (resized).jpg20220105_155157 (resized).jpgQuoted from maffewl:Hey Hayfarmer, they look amazing! Especially in the black light. And really appreciate the kind words. May want to double check the sling protectors. Looks like they are switched. The one with the circular cutout goes on the right sling to allow for the ball return. Wanted to make sure that didn’t mess with the drop. Thanks again!
You are right! Was in a hurry, we are having a blizzard with 30 mph winds, driveway is 1000 ft long and drifted in, so was wanting to get the tractor fired up. Good eye, will swap tmrw!
Quoted from Newtothis:I bought a Metallica premium last week. Are there any issues with this game that are common enough that I should consider having some spare parts on hand that may be hard to find in the future? Thanks for the help
[quoted image]
Coil stops and sleeves from pinball life for sure. Not hard to get, but nice to have on hand when the fail.
Quoted from DudeRegular:Go Chiefs!
[quoted image][quoted image]
Looks great. Go Seahawks,,, and take the Mariners with you
Quoted from Kkoss24:My kids do too ,but I might have to adjust some settings until they understand the code .They’re over the show and want higher scores now .What would you suggest to make easier and is there a way to easily flip back n forth from stock to what I set ? Any input would be welcomed .
[quoted image]
Give em 5 balls to play
Quoted from Kkoss24:They won’t get bored of this one but I just want them to play deeper a few times until they get it .
Set it a 5 ,6 ,or 7 balls for a week or so. They will learn it faster than you then adjust back. Awesome that your boys are into it!
Quoted from bicyclenut:I just wanted to share my love for this game and Dirty Donny and of course Metallica. I own a pro and love the flow of this game. Dirty Donny is one of my favorite artist. So this game is a keeper for me. I've owned mine for the past 4 years. So, I made my own game blades with Donny artwork. I think they turned out great. Some may not like them and some might. Im not selling these and I'm not giving out the artwork, but I just wanted to show them.
[quoted image]
Looks great!
Quoted from Kkoss24:Thank you .I never noticed that .I’m guessing the previous owner wanted the extra space to hit Sparky.I’m doing a full “shop” soon and was up in the air about a sound upgrade .Some get by with a sub and others need more .What’s the popular opinion on what matches with Met ? I’m not a overboard guy but want what’s right for this keeper .I’ve also heard of a system that will take up to 5 pins .We always play one at a time here so this interests me as you can see rock pins are our fav !
[quoted image]
Pinwoofer, cant recommend highly enough. Have it on all 5 pins now. Rush is just amazing with it !
Quoted from rockrand:Sparky finished!
[quoted image]
Of course I love the rat fink shirt!!
Quoted from Medic:I will be getting a Metallica soon and does anyone know where I can get the green plastic protectors for the whole playfield? I see some for sale but it’s only for the sling area. Also I see the price for the Polk psw10 have gone up in price significantly. Any recommendation for a good sub for it under $200? Thanks
Dang!! Polks are usually 89 bucks on black Friday and 129 or so regularly. Last one I found on Craigslist for 40 bucks, guess I'll be looking again
Quoted from beltking:Really wish Stern would make a Metallica topper. Ones on the market suck.
Idk, I like mine
20220816_140116 (resized).jpgQuoted from Acronymicon:I see that speaker panel a lot, but I dont see it for sale anywhere.
Was it a limited run a while back?
I am new to the club too.
Speaker panel is stock, but I did put in a color dmd
Quoted from TronGuy:OK, I have an odd problem all of a sudden.
I played the game for a couple of hours last night, then when my daughter started playing she told me about a sound issue.
I have owned the machine for 1 1/2years ish, and added the pinwoofer upgrade. Without issue to this point
Last night, as I watched my daughter play, every time she hit the hammer (met, premium) the music cut out for a few seconds.
I went into test mode and just went through the songs real quick.
Most songs played normally. But BLACKENED would not play at all, no sound. Unforgiven was missing the first few seconds and then started playing, and a couple of other songs maaaaayyy have had a missing intro when I started. If I play the game and select BLACKENED , it does play the song. Just not in test mode.
AGain, no trouble-shooting yet, but definitely an odd one huh?
You need to put game volume on at least 30 and adjust volume on the pinwoofer amp to your liking
Quoted from pinballjah:Custom Pro edition # plate, goes nice with the speaker grills.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Very cool. Where did you get that?
Quoted from konghusker:Anybody know where to get the rock hands speaker grill covers, or the skull ones like above?
SpeakerLightKits.com
Quoted from konghusker:Where do you guys tie into for speaker lights? Mine was wired up to plug into the service outlet, and doesn’t automatically come on when I turn game on
Pull those out and when you order the skull acrylics from doug, get a light kit from him. Best in the business, simple hookup in the backbox, about 20 minutes to install
Quoted from Medic:anyone installed trough lighting kit for apron? If so what color did you use thanks!
I used purple, looks great
20221125_081538 (resized).jpg20221125_081549 (resized).jpgQuoted from Medic:Mezel mod made it and they said they stopped making it due to design issues when I asked a few months ago. I also read somewhere that it wasn’t that bright. I ended up putting a slinky type bracelet and 3d printed a mini cylinder for the attachment. I think I posted a pic on here before but can post again if needed.
Would like to see
Quoted from Medic:It doesn’t light up but fills the void
[quoted image]
I'd be interested in 3 or 4 caps for me and my friends if you'd like to make some. Thx
Quoted from Medic:I can check on sat if I still have the file. I’m a noob at designing things and made it a while ago. I might still have it and if I do I’ll make you some I’ll let you know on sat when I get back from work.
Thanks, I think it looks really good on Sparky
Quoted from Cento:Actually I modified my speaker panel decal a little.
[quoted image][quoted image]
Where did you get the decal?
Quoted from Roostking:10 inch Polk subwoofer. $100 or so on Amazan. Creeping Death artblades.
You haven't looked in awhile have you? PSW10 are now $250 on Amazon, I just paid $80 for a used one
Quoted from jawjaw:The $80 price was hard to find even back then. Regular price was much higher. I paid around $100 for mine. Other subs will probably work fine. Polk was just a good sub for cheap.
I'm a fan of the polks, work great. For some unknown reason tho, they are much higher priced now,,,,
My Pro today let's the ball loop on the plunge without holding the left flipper, it no longer stops at the top lanes. Haven't had a chance to look yet, but Any idea?
Connections are fine, won't fire in coil test. Been told it's most likely a transistor or diode. Thx for the responses, appreciate them
Quoted from OutlawTorn304:I’d bet money on a transistor. I’ve replaced a few of them already as they don’t seem to last. So far I’ve swapped the snake eject, both slings, and the flippers for failure or weak action.
That's my next step. Always hope for an easier fix ,
Quoted from Acronymicon:Usually it just holds the 2 balls when I go for the superjackpot with a low powered shot, is this common?
This time is managed to grab all 3 and then continue to hold them after the countdown... and even after I turned the machine off and shook the shit out of it.[quoted image]
Magnatized
Quoted from swampfire:Decided on “Ride the Lightning”. Runner up was “Metal up your ass!”
I like “Welcome to the Sanitarium” too
Dee-Bow you’re right, it doesn’t really matter.
So " Fry that mother fu%&er " is out?
Quoted from OutlawTorn304:Anybody have the Sparky topper from Tilt? I love mine but the mounting system sucks and it keeps falling off. Anybody have a permanent solution?? The brackets just miss the factory screws in the top off the back box.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Clean the surface of mount and backbox wirh alcohol. My sparky topper had been on 3 years, never an issue, and I've moved the room around several times
Quoted from pinballjah:Thoughts on MET wooden sign design. Which choices you like better? Will look identical to the mock up. Grey areas will be painted metallic silver. 18 x 29 inches. Thanks.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
3 looks good, maybe a small stern logo somewhere? 1 is cool as well
Quoted from John-Floyd:How is it no one has made a full coin door magnet Art for this game? Been waiting for one to pop up either at wizardmods or Inscribed Solutions, but no dice. I would think they would sell tons of these if done well…
I've asked wiz mods 2 times, they say in development. That was a year ago
Quoted from Roostking:Its more like I need the money for other non working peojects lol. I will upgrade some day, they really do look great!
I was too cheap to upgrade, family bought for my birthday last year. Amazing upgrade, I should of done day 1
Quoted from konghusker:Just curious what you guys would price an led version pro with sweet topper, creeping death art blades , and the lightning rods to light them up, led snake eyes, fangs and tongue, shaker, sparky plastic protector, snake ramp, cliffys, lit speakers and grills, and maybe a few other small mods I’m forgetting? Debating on trading for something new like tmnt premium, Toy Story, wonka, JP premium. Any thoughts? I’ve had it since nib and probably 1000 plays or so. Pictures just added for quick reference, not detailed pictures for an ad
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Friend of mine has basically same game, with topper, 1 owner ,low play etc. No action at 8k. Of your list jp is the only one I'd give up Metallica for, and personally, I'd not do that trade either. Met is my last pin to sell if I get out,
Quoted from swampfire:I moved my MET Pro to storage for a while to make room for my friend’s Bond Pro (temp loan). I’m really missing it right now. Might need to put my new CC in storage instead.
Good call, or sell cc. I did
Quoted from Fulltilt:I'm seeing why. Bought mine about a month ago. Got it cleaned up and now it's been the only game I'm playing.
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
I'm hoping they don't really run the mople, but if they do, I'll be a buyer. And keep my pro, was the first modern pin I bought in 40 yrs in the hobby. I'll never sell it.
Quoted from swampfire:I kinda heard that. I still buy Donny’s blacklight posters and stickers at least once a year.
https://dirtydonnystore.com/collections/all
I have the Jimi Hendrix poster he had on his site for $800. The really good posters are a decent investment. But mostly I just love looking at them.
Like to see a pic of the Hendrix poster. My ultimate pin dream,,,
Quoted from Apollo18:Question.
How can I make the back box brighter?
Essentially I’m looking to add LED strips that would better spread distribute the light more evenly across the backglass.
I have a later run LED Metallica.
Thank you.
I haven't tried, but why can't you buy a cheap LED Strip off Amazon and plug into the service outlet, or even externally? Maybe usb outlet will support too, not sure on that.
