Quoted from Wildbill327:Congrats, now you just have to survive the next 8 weeks.
Ha ha, yea. Just drinking a tall frosty homebrew beer listening to ride the lightning at full noise....can't wait
Quoted from MustangPaul:Congrats but man that's gotta cost ya. I don't know how you guys do it.
Yea, we do pay a premium for them down here, selling my J. P. Got me half there, so that was o.k.
Quoted from kimzone:please dont go to wellington ENIGMA CAFE they go metallica pro worst machine ever went there its so dirt they had 2 ball stuck in machine
well done nib machine i hqave got MET pro at home awesome machine are you going to pincade next month?
Hi, yep, going to the welly leg of pincade at moon, i'm a newbe, so it will we my first pinball event . They swapped out the met at enigma for I.M.
9 weeks after placing my order, my Met pro is in the country, just clearing customs then shipped to my place next week...
Hey guys, I've put about 50 games on my new Met, but have now started noticing the left flipper starts to get week after 5-10 mins play. I will contact my distro on monday, but till then, any thoughts?
Thanks for the input guys. I didnt want to check last night, as i was a few beers deep. Looks like they may have forgotten a coil sleeve in the left coil. It sounds noisey, metal on metal sound, and operation is not as smooth. I'm not going to take coil out to check, as it's only the second day out of the box, and I don't want to void the warranty, but it looks like there is no sleeve in there
Ok. Had to find out what's wrong and had a look. There was a sleeve in there, but it is a little short. There was a bit of metal filings around the coil stop. Iput a old sleeve from a jurassic park I used to have in and its the exact right size, it's Flippin good for now
What a cool first pin! Welcome.
How many plays do you think you will put on it in the first week?
We got ours 3 weeks ago. We put 255 games on in first 7 days, but I got a lot of help from friends
Quoted from jawjaw:No kidding. I suddenly become a pro hitting the right orbit when shooting for the scoop. Ball falls in the scoop by accident all during the game but rarely when you need it.
One cool trick that new owners may not be aware of is that you can get the ball to go into the scoop without even flipping on a plunge. Just hold down the left flipper on almost a full plunge. This let's the ball come around the orbit for a skill shot. Don't flip. Let the ball hit the left flipper and if you do it right it will bounce right into the scoop. Might require a little nudge. Tricky to do but pretty cool when it works.
On my game, when I plunge the orbit post is always up, so that it drops into the pops always, is this not right?
Quoted from Pinballerchef:Reread the post....HOLD THE LEFT FLIPPER BUTTON BEFORE YOU PLUNGE....keep holding and the ball will scream all the way round the orbit.
Cool.
Thanks for clarification on that, I'll give it a go when I get home
Quoted from pghpinfan:What are your average scores when you play the game? Not your great games or high scores but your average score. I just got this game and need to figure out scoring but I feel I am the worst player ever!!!,
I just hit the flashing lights and rack up the points!
Quoted from FuryosJustin:I just hit the flashing lights and rack up the points!
Altho, these points I rack up are not very much.
Disappointed with under 20mil
Satisfied with 50-60, very happy with 100+. Also happy if I get a crank it up.
So I was giving tallica a clean and blitz wax (shit it plays fast after blitz) and I noticed one of the balls is covered in hundreds of tiny dents? I'm guessing it's a bad ball, as the other 3 were fine. They were fine at last wax 500 plays ago.
I've now replaced all 4
Anyone else have the odd bad ball before?
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:Hi guys. Probably a common knowledge issue here but I could use some advice.
I've had my MET pro bnib from stern for 3mo now. My left flipper just started acting up today. It retracts really slow now like an air cylinder letting air out. Is the coil no good or is there and easier fix I should know about.
My NIB met pro shipped with a slightly shorter coil sleeve in the left flipper then what should have been in there, and it gave similar symptoms to what you describe. I called my distro, he dropped 2 sleeves into my mailbox that day, problem solved.
Hope you have a easy fix before your guests show up
Quoted from Roostking:Bad ass!! What Mopars??
Modified 67 Fury. 468bb mopar
Quoted from lazyfatdog:So I'm waiting on delivery of my NIB Met Pro (unbelievably excited) and have been working my way through this thread. Mostly what I'm trying to figure out is, are there any mods that are strongly recommended for purchase/installation prior to setting up the pin?
Mylar ring for sparky magnet
Extended sparky protector
Snake fangs and tongue decal
Creeping death side art blades
Marco "mantis style" mystery protector, 2500 plays, looks mint.
I put mylar round sparky magnet and shooter lane, just cut from a sheet of mylar, wax down first, I just replaced the shooter mylar and it was real easy to pull up .
I use regular Marco balls, I tumble and check them often.
Quoted from KYLEDM5:Whatever pitch that makes it feel/play the way you like.
Yea, I didn't use a level app when setting it up in the beginning, got left/right level and put up rear till i liked it.
fast, but not nasty. Turned out to be 7 deg when I recently checked with a app.
Quoted from Jeff_PHX_AZ:I was gonna asked same question as I gotta move soon, and break down pin to move, and wondering when I set it up on pitch angle. Wonder if Borg has a preferred preference for his game since he designed it. I know Ritchie mentions pitch angle for some of his pins he designs. I do know that higher the pitch less airballs off sparky, but have one of Rick's extended protectors and its save the area of dimples big time.
I was also interested by something chuckwurt said a few posts back about increased sdtm from the grave markers at a certain pitch. If I have a good clean right flipper to grave marker, there's a 40% chance it's sdtm. I always thought it's just the way it plays, but now I'm thinking of bringing it back from 7 to 6.7deg and seeing if that changes
Quoted from Gort:It looks like Marco's has the Monsters translite back in stock. Get them while you can!
Thanks for the heads up!! I got mine yesterday , and see they are already soldout
Quoted from KYLEDM5:What do you chaps think about Cliffy vs Mantis in regards to protecting the mystery hole?
It seems like there's a trade off. Cliffy offers better protection, but as usual, it will somewhat affect the ball's travel and get worse over time.
The Mantis looks like it wouldn't affect the ball at all, but it doesn't protect the rim of the hole.
Anyone have long term/hard use with either one? Pics?
Thanks!
I have had a marco "mantis style" protector on from game 0. Up to 2800+ plays
Can see a very small amount of wear starting on left edge.

Quoted from Dee-Bow:10000 ish!
Good number!
We have around 3000 in around 2 years, still looks great, with no noticeable wear anywhere.
met is the first choice for all guests who are at our house
Quoted from Spiderpin:Ok, it's official I sux at Metallica. Best score out of 10 games 66.8m worse score 2.4m going back to Game of Thrones.
Ha ha, I know your pain. Our met recently went to a local brewery for a 2 month guest spot in thier line up, day before it left, we lowered pitch from 7 to 6.5, changed to five ball and got a couple of the boys round, expecting to put some decent scores up....
Nope....
Worse then a 3 ball game without exception
Quoted from jandrea95:3000 plays strong and I finally had to shut down for the night due to issue. Where is the quality control stern ????
[quoted image]
Yea, these Mets run good....
we have over 4k plays on ours from new, never an issue, except one led died.
Clean n wax every 500, serviced drops at 3k, just put new rubber kit on at 4k
