Just joined the club a couple days ago. Bought a used pro. One of the best games I've played!

Quoted from knockerlover:Congrats! Just for laughs (due to another marketplace ad) will you share what you paid? Or.. if it was less then 4k
Yes, it was a couple hundred under 4k.
It was a sept 2013 model
Has anyone here put a playfield protector on there Met pro?
Just put one on today and wanted to see if anyone had any issues with it.
Quoted from NightTrain:Anyone know where I can get the DMD and speaker panel surround sticker that is on the LED version? I'd like to add that to my OG pro.
Same here, if you find them shoot me a message.
Quoted from chubtoad13:Is the pro model supposed to have a flashing light on the grave marker? I believe it's supposed to light when multiball is ready.
I don't see a flasher in that area, but the flasher is in the menu and I watched a video where it happened on someone else's pro.
Its inside the cross, mine has come undone twice now. Looks like there is some glue to hold it, but it still comes undone.
Quoted from butterz:New owner here. The best rules I found so far is here: http://www.pinballrevolution.com/threads/metallica-pro.3077/.
Quick question. The left orbit shot always seems to bounce back when I hit it. Is the rules you have to hit a ramp first to open the post?
Congrats! I see you are very close by. If I didnt own one myself, i would invite myself over to play. Haha
Does anyone have an issue of the ball getting stuck in the left orbit lane? If the ball is moving slow, it gets stuck.
Quoted from newpinbin:Never. Mine just keeps getting stuck on the snakes lip/
Mine does that too, and also when it rests against the pop bumper.
Quoted from yzfguy:Traditional lockdown bar and metal backboard with round cutouts
My 2013 pro has the clips
Quoted from bigd1979:Really? Never seen that? But your right anything can break in pinball. Ill take my chances i guess bc thats alot of money for a plastic figure. Id buy one for 50-100
I agree, a bit too much
Quoted from sshughes75:Got a Monsters translite for my pro this weekend!
I did the same, much better!!
Quoted from Leachdude:Anyone know the sound locations of the songs for the Premium off hand?
I have this new Metallica Album and want to add all the new songs to the code.
How do you have the new cd? I want, i want
Quoted from Delta9:Anybody have a interactive backbox kit they wanna sell ? Pm me
There was one for sale here yesterday for $75. Not sure if its sold yet, but i bet it is.
Quoted from KornFreak28:Who sells these speaker inserts? Thanks!
Speakerlightkits.com
Quoted from KornFreak28:Wires are not pinched...I already made certain. I will however, check under the playfield as you suggest. I will do this after work today and report back. Thanks!!
Did you install the support brackets on a pro? Maybe they are hitting something inside the cab?
I tried changing the unforgiven to Dream no more, and it said i cant replace long files. Do i need to donate for it to work, or am i doing something wrong?
And if you hold the left flipper and soft plunge into the pops, i believe that is the hardest skill shot.
Do you mean the light inside the cross?
If so, my light used to come out alot then i noticed a little bit of glue holds the light in place.
I have Dream no more in place of The Unforgiven
And St Anger in place of Sad but true. They seem to work well. I have these on the pro code.
Quoted from mattosborn:More freebies coming soon.... Can you guess what these are?
I could use some of those, let me know when they are finished!!
Quoted from delt31:where did you get those "M" icons in your speakers? Can't find them....
Pinballbulbs.com has them and the ninja star ones.
Quoted from snakesnsparklers:Can you provide a link? I am not finding them...
www.pinballbulbs.com/speaker-light-kits
Once you pick what color light you want, you can choose what acrylic you want.
I think the led fits just like the one that comes out of it. The lcd sits back because it is larger then the back panel.
ebay.com link: Metallica Pinball Top Board Piece FREE SHIPPING
They have it listed as pinball top board.
Cause i can read minds
thought he should play that one if he hadnt yet, just a suggestion. Sorry i will keep my thoughts to myself
Quoted from TechnicalSteam:The day has come. Where I am contemplating the sale of one of my treasured pins. MET PRO.
I own a Early Model, With Wooden Backbox, No LEDs, Snake Mod, and Shaker Motor.
The game is Documented Home USE only and about 2 years old.
What do you guys think it's worth?
Im in the same boat, had mine about 3 years and it doesn't get played as much as my others. I keep adding mods hoping it will spark something, cause i love the band so much. Too many other pins i want and not enough space.
Quoted from PolePosition:One more question - do you remove the factory Mylar before adding the playfield protector?
No, and you will need to raise the drop targets til they are flush with the protector.
Quoted from lazyfatdog:So I'm waiting on delivery of my NIB Met Pro (unbelievably excited) and have been working my way through this thread. Mostly what I'm trying to figure out is, are there any mods that are strongly recommended for purchase/installation prior to setting up the pin?
Yes, all the ones you like. Lol
Welcome to the club!!
Quoted from Jeff_PHX_AZ:Nice...what did you use to attach it to post, and link to where to buy? Also, I am not sure why you received negative down votes for this.
Cause it's a belt buckle on a pinball machine.
2 monster translites on Ebay for $107
ebay.com link: Stern Metallica Premium Pinball Backbox Translite Part Number 830 52E 01
I have a full set of Met pro plastics, if anyone is interested. Maybe someone that made a mistake cutting them for the spinners.
I have the whole set for sale, if I can get enough people that want specific plastics I would sell individually.
My Metallica has the jukebox feature. It's not live, but it plays all the songs.
It has to be turned on in service menu.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:Just teasing but James would never take those fenders over some mesa boogies
Funny, I was thinking the same thing.
Quoted from JDub03:Besides Marco and PL, does anyone have a source for a replacement Sparky? The right foot on mine cracked off (in less than 600 plays) and I was hoping to not pay $200 for a replacement. TIA
Also wanted to know about another place to buy the pro cross?
I have a first run, and live pretty close if you want to check one out.
The originals had a wood backbox is the only other difference I can think of.
I have been waiting for something like this ever since I saw the kick ass ones on Pirates!
Also would be interested in a KISS one.
Mine broke a month ago and I bought the one from Marco.
Problem was the holes didn't line up with my bracket. Mine was 1 of the wooden backbox models so maybe they changed something with the newer ones.
It's mainly there to protect from dust, but I have the same pin and dont see the reflection like yours. I still have the clear protector over my colordmd.
Quoted from ralphwiggum:If someone would like a free set of these cards in exchange for photos (and possibly a couple of quick videos) of the cards installed in their machine, please let me know and I will get them out to you.
Have any more?
Quoted from Jecco74:This was not like this two months ago when I purchased it.
Is it near a heater?
Quoted from woody76:This is the translight I have on mine. What is the monsters version? just a different translight?
There was 2 premiums. Monsters and Road case. You must have a Monsters premium
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:Anybody willing to make an extra display spacer? Don’t have access to a 3D printer. How much are we talking? Thank you!
I would be interested also
Quoted from TronGuy:I’d love to get a translite measurement if someone can find the time.
Quoted from MrCleanHead:True, but I wanted to have the other guys names since that was my time that I listened to the band. Not a fan of the "new" Metallica.
I do have the option, not to have the Jason or Dave on the Grave marker in the listing here on pinside.
You can have the dates they were in the band instead of when they were alive.
Why did you pull the playfield? And it seems like you didnt need to remove the head for those stairs.
Quoted from NightTrain:Can someone do me a huge favor? I need a picture of the auto-launcher assembly. Specifically a picture from the right side. Mine came apart and I want to see the screw that holds it together. Not sure if there is a washer in there or what.
I have a vault pro. Preferably a pic from the vault. Not sure if anything changed from the OG to the vault.
Gracias
There is no vault, do you mean led pro?
Quoted from KSUWildcatFan:Are you really clowning Tron as NOT being a 'commercial grade' pin?
I think he is saying it is commercial grade
Quoted from mikespins:Freshly powder coated parts! More at https://www.facebook.com/groups/metallicapinball/
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
[quoted image]
That's the first time I saw powder coating and said "I want to do that too".
What's that color?
Quoted from Rickwh:Will the part under the sling art be clear and the outside be purple? Would think tha purple would darken the slings a bunch
Return lane protector pointy bits and the logo are probaby in less impact areas.
That's why I thought orange would look good.
Quoted from Hayfarmer:I just installed a color dmd lcd today and I can't believe what I've been missing for the 3 yrs I've owned this pin. Highly recommend it if you haven't yet.
You may have been the last one to do so, enjoy!
Quoted from NightTrain:The color choice for those seems very odd. I thought that color was just the prototype. Why have a plastic protector that blocks the light? Maybe I'm missing something.
I still feel orange is the way to go, I would get another set if that color was available. It brightens up that area very much.
20210617_211927 (resized).jpgQuoted from TronGuy:The lcd is terrible and does not look correct at all! (My opinion).
The lcd can be switched to look like the led, have you tried that?
I think its abit of an optical illusion with the magnet too high and going to a point. If you could pull the magnet below the surface, you could then tell if the playfield is also sunk in.
Quoted from embryon:Thanks mate, but I wasn't going to put two blades on one side but just stick the decal on the mirror blade but on the non mirror side. Do you think that would work OK? Thanks
I think it would work
Quoted from loneranger:Anyone know where this plastic goes?
[quoted image]
It's a keychain plastic
So I just went through the changing of the battery on my Dialed In, which the pin needs to be on. What is the process with Sterns? Can I just change while game is off or not?
Quoted from Lermods:if you change them with game off, you will lose all your settings and scores.
Ok, so game on with any pin manufacturer will work? Thanks
Quoted from Pickle:Got me thinking….I should change mine as it was an early run premium. Will do that this weekend.
I thought the same thing. Mine was from 2013. Tested the battery and still 3v. So I'm going to wait
Quoted from snakesnsparklers:Fyi it will show 3V pretty much constantly and will then just drop off quickly when it's done. You might as well just wait for your scores to be gone if you are trying to evaluate the usefulness of a lithium battery via the voltage
It's not a battery that I could find at Walmart and I only had 1 at the time. Wheel of Fortune needed it so I will change this now also. Thanks for the info
Quoted from Anony:Does anyone know where to get a sparky protector these days? Only place I seem to see one in stock is in the UK.
I saw one on Ebay today
Quoted from Pinstein:Ive got an alternate translite available. Pm if interested.[quoted image]
That's so hot, Lars face is melting
I dont mind Enter Sandman, it's a good song. Load and reload is what I'm speaking of. They are not interesting.
Quoted from OutlawTorn304:Load and Reload have some awesome material. In my opinion some of their best stuff, not the best metal, but best songs. Fixxxer, Outlaw Torn, Bleeding Me, Memory Remains just to name a few
We shall agree to disagree . Memory remains is definitely the best from those.
Quoted from DaBanan:Yeah, looks like it. But the two pieces are not connected somehow? Looks like all switches are good, so it could just be the old one. It’s the one on the left that scratch my head
The one on the left looks like a broken drop target
Quoted from wackenhut:What is the best way to figure out what switch is bad or how to test this? Not even sure where the shooter lane switch is located. I agree that the song is locked for other balls, but you get to make a selection at the start.
You can only pick 1 song per game
Quoted from kmarrocco:I also have the creeping death mirror blades and like them a lot. [quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]
Now you need a colordmd
Quoted from Luis75:Forget to mention, also installing a playfield protector from Germany
I had one on mine for a few years, only issue is the protector started to bubble over the sparky magnet and soon made a cup for the ball to sit in. You would need to give it a good bump to get the ball out of it.
Quoted from Codybomb2000:I have a pro and a LE and just have a quick question. I know the game came out in 2013 and they remade it. Did they remake it only in 2018 or was there other years they remade it? Also, did they only remake the pros, or did the remake the premiums as well?
I don't think it was "remade" they just changed to LED. Pros and premiums were made for 5 years I thought
Quoted from Gorgar666:Any of y’all Premium guys have a extra hammerhead they wanna sell?
Isn't there one for sale 3 posts up?
Quoted from konghusker:My left flipper is getting stuck once in awhile now. I’ve never done a rebuild, so just curious where and what kit works best for this?
Could just be the coil stop. Much easier fix. I would start there first
Quoted from Neal_W:RUSH and Guns and Roses owners.
I also wish Kiss had an LCD screen
