Joined the club today! #265686 in the house (well technically, in the shop)! I assembled it and powered up. Everything looks good, and no ghosting inserts at present. But it's time for Andy Griffith now. So, Cliffy's and plastic protectors will go in tomorrow. Then I'll get to playing!

I serviced a WPT about a year ago. It had problems with the playfield sitting in the cabinet straight. The support rails were not installed correctly. So, it might be worth a check on that. You'd have to remove the playfield and examine the rails. If you can get the distributor to take the machine back, I think that would be your best bet. I think you have a defective unit.

I guess we just need to check the manual for which assembly is being used for the placement of #5 above. I've seen it so many times the other way that I was surprised. I assumed that's the way it's supposed to be. But, from the image above, that isn't so. So, I've looked up my Tron manual (assembly 500-6543-15-ND) and Metallica manual (assembly 500-6543-33-ND) and they both have the spring ring on the other side of the coil. Strange. So, I guess it pays to check your manual for the machine you're fixing. I guess it can differ, depending on the assembly.
