Quoted from Koos:I used a little bit of lock-tite on the two spotlights and posts to make sure they don't move around any more.
But I stil have issues with the LED's popping out. Every 20 something games, one of the LED bulbs fly across the playfield!
Any tips on how to fix them more firmly?
I'm done searching for them every time. I'm almost considering a tiny dab of hot glue...
Had the same annoying issue. Put a carefully placed dab of crazy glue on both sides of the spotlight bulbs and reinserted them. They aren’t popping out anymore. I still need to put loctite on the two posts as they rotate after a few games. I also changed the shaker setting from maximum to moderate.
I had a pinnovators adapter connected to a high end Velodyne sub and it was just too much bass for my taste. I removed it and dialed in the Flipper Fidelity speakers and like the sound a lot better. I need to install anti-rattle tape on the glass, the game rattles badly in the CIU song selection mode.
Quoted from Draegermeister:I was messing with my Premium the other day, and sort of took an inventory on the mods. I took a lot of photos and made a short video in case you are interested. I love the Cointaker interactive backbox. It's a shame that they shipped with the same lighting as a Wal-Mart store.

Nicely done! I have a similar list of mods on my MOPLE, Metallica is just such a fun game to mod. Thanks for sharing
Quoted from ChipScott:Everything in it's place. Changed out my Pro translite for the new signed Monsters one, and today I made an LED light box for the signed Road Case translite. Loving it!!!

I'd be taking that shit to my grave, very nice and congrats man!
Quoted from Bcarr:I just received my Metallica Pro Pinball Refinery Edition and I have to say that this machine is awesome! I started looking for a standard Pro and then got connected to Steve at MI Pinball Refinery and decided to splurge and get this beauty. I have to say that the whole experience was outstanding. I am new to the pinball scene only recently acquiring a beautiful Stargate so I had plenty of questions for Steve. He was more than happy to talk to me multiple times before making a decision. After I did, he kept me informed along the way and gave me some other tips for when the machine arrived. The machine arrived in perfect condition and right on time. I was super impressed! If you are on the fence about getting one of these or any PB Refinery machine, just do it. Top notch quality and craftsmanship for a one of a kind pinball. Here are a few pics but they don't do it justice...

Two beautiful games, congrats! I’ve got a Gio Pinball Refinery Star Trek LE and it’s truly one of a kind. They do amazing work. I’m digging those red LED snake eyes Going to have to look into that mod
Here ya go. It was Gio’s personal machine and it is pimped to the max. I paid up for it, but love the game.

Just amazing, what a difference. Noticeably less reflection than the Stern HD glass on Iron Maiden LE next to it. Can barely tell there’s glass in the game, highly recommend this stuff.

Installed the cemetary arch, tombstone gate and hammer LED mods on my LE and really dig them. Going to do ColorDMD, PinWoofer and a few other mods like snake mouth LED next. I played a game the other night and completed four CIU modes, but didn’t qualify the 5th and lost all progress. Sooo close to EOTL, maybe next time. This game is still incredible and bolted to the floor.

Nice mods and what # LE do you have? I have 190.
Thanks. I never noticed the green, is that not original? I guess the first owner I bought it from must have swapped the bulbs, but I like it. It’s MOP LE #389/500. Probably the only game I’d keep if I got out of the hobby. Special to me in many ways. Lusted for one for years and finally found a mint example. PinWoofer system is being ordered this week, will put the Flipper Fidelity kit up for sale after I do the swap.

Most prolific metal band of all time and I’ve seen them live a few times. That Nightmare before Christmas show at AT&T park in 2015 was something I’ll never forget, they are amazing. Your LE is sweet, they are definitely keepers. Now put an Iron Maiden next to it!
Finally reached EOTL tonight after several years of ownership. Was down to my last ball and hit the CIU scoop and was so stoked to finally reach the wizard mode. Had the two ball EOTL mode going for quite a while and collected 79M for that mode alone and an all-time GC score of 671M. Such an awesome game that will never leave and now I can choose the EOTL song during games. Woohoo! I’d you don’t have a PinWoofer system in your Metallica, highly recommended!

Put a wrench around each nut, hold the assembly carefully on its side or put it in a vice and whack the nut that spins with a hammer. That’s what I’d do.
Quoted from tbpd349:Time to put some life back into this thread.
My wife just surprised me with a 15th anniversary gift for the games room to accompany our Metallica Pro.
The photo does not do it “justice”. Amazing idea.
I present to you…
Metallica …AND PINBALL FOR ALL custom neon sign.[quoted image]
That is one of a kind and certified bad-ass!
Metallica LE got the full chrome treatment today. Thanks to Chris at Hot Rod Arcade for making this possible. A touch of class for a very special game…it’s perfect now! Still waiting for the chrome shooter rod housing.

You have good taste in gams sir.
Lol, you have a keen eye! Indeed, Alice Cooper sits next to Metallica. Gotta love those reflections!
Quoted from LOTR_breath:Chris Royalty does excellent work. Your game looks fantastic, but just my opinion it would look much better without that topper.
Chris Royalty does excellent work. Your game looks fantastic, but just my opinion it would look much better without that topper. The colors clash with the rest of the game. Again, just my opinion.
Thank you. It’s the only topper that didn’t have “Metallica” plastered all over it which the game already has enough of. I customized the tombstone text and like the way it turned out. If another topper comes along that I like better, I may change it up. The 3D effect and changing lights on this one are just fine with me. I couldn’t find a worthy topper for ACNC, so I stuck an Alice Cooper figurine on top and like the way it looks.

Our entire living room downstairs is full of games and guitars. But no way she’d let me have one right off the kitchen. Haha
Lol, she’s my fiancé and no kids yet. I’m sure the pin sprawl days are numbered. Might fold them upright and store some games soon. Whatever it takes to keep the collection intact
Quoted from pinzrfun:Well, I quit the club this morning, moved out my HUO Met LE MoP and making way for a Godzilla Premium. It was fun while it lasted.
[quoted image]
A true Metallica fan is very happy today! What did you sell it for, if you don't mind sharing? I'm curious what the MOPLEs are going for these days.
Quoted from Roostking:It's settled, I hope you don't mind me doing the chrome on my METLE 199[quoted image]
Do it, you won't regret it! The chrome looks insane in person, the LE should have come that way from the factory. Contact Chris at HotRodArcade and he'll hook you up. Don't forget to ask for the chrome screws for the side rails. I couldn't find a chrome shooter rod housing for my METLE that the Stern shooter rod fit through, let me know if you find a source!
Quoted from Jecco74:I put Pinwoofer on my MET LE. Big difference.
Same here, sounds incredible!
Quoted from beltking:Yeah not a big deal for me. I cut the plastics perfectly so you can’t tell at all. You could unhook the clips and just have the spinners if you wanted but lighting a pick is whatever. I’d like a premium but can’t find one and really spinners are the only thing I miss. The hammer I don’t care about and heard it could have issues working well. I think this game as it sits is bolted. I own all the top games and prob the last one I’d sell. I’ve talked to people who are selling their collection off and literally won’t part with their Metallica. It’s crazy hard to find this game. Mine is loaded with mods and refinery edition
Same way I feel about my Metallica. It would be the last game I ever part with, followed closely by Maiden. How could a lifelong Metallica fan ever part with one of these masterpieces? Couldn’t be me, this one’s bolted down

Quoted from konghusker:Got it!!! Awesome topper tilttoppers!!! Best Metallica topper I’ve seen. Great quality, great communication, and only took a few weeks to deliver.
[quoted image][quoted image]
That’s a sick topper, congrats. I might have to order one of those for my LE!
Paid $8600 for my MET LE. This game and Maiden LE are never leaving. Both amazing pins and gorgeous to look at! It helps if you grew up on and love their music. Values have been rising steadily on LEs. I’m still looking to add Kiss LE to the collection; that’s another gorgeous pin, minus Gene’s big head lol

Quoted from mbl1116:You nailed it...took a chance and just got the game. Opto and LED issues turned out to be nothing.
It's basically a stock Pro LED, so I'd like to add a few things to it. Already have a ColorDMD on the way. Any other must haves? Speaker upgrade/Particular side blades/etc[quoted image]
Nice pickup! Get the creeping Death inner art blades, it looks naked without them
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:The pingraffix halo-graphic ones?
I got the non halo ones and love them. Sorry I don’t have a better pic handy
AEC28674-E107-4D96-A65A-F9E48E3C648C (resized).jpegQuoted from Roostking:Oh thanks, he meant Met LE. Im familiar with that.[quoted image]
Nice games! Ivan Stewart "Off Road"...man, does that bring back high school memories. Such a fun game for friends to compete on!
I'm digging the new thread title! I was going to suggest "Jump in the Fire," but "Ride the Lightning" is just as good. My Metallica LE is never leaving!
I think a lot of us plan to take Met to the grave. That said, if someone offered stupid money for my LE…I might consider. There’s always some shiny new thing tempting us
The hidden song IS End of the Line. That reminds me, I need to take my Metallica LE out of storage and play it more! Such an awesome game
Quoted from snakesnsparklers:They've had multiple #1 albums and gone quadruple platinum. Never heard of em
You mean Trent Reznor? Does the song "I want to F you like an animal...I wanna feel you from the inside" ring any bells? LOL That guy's stood the test of time!
Quoted from beltking:Great mail day. Been trying to get this topper forever. Nicely made.
[quoted image]
Nice. Fry the MFer!
Wow, those prices. Maybe I
Quoted from Pinball-Obsessed:I sold my Metallica pro and I really miss it.
It will be back one day though.
Story progression games are fun but once you complete it. The thrill of trying to get there is not the same. I owned DP for just about 4 years. I completed the game at least a few times. It was still fun to play but the interest to progress through the story wasn’t fun anymore. Having said that, DP is an amazing game and I miss that one too!
Games with shallow code are not bad as long as they’re fun. I always enjoy a few quick games without the commitment of time trying to progress through a bunch of modes. I owned Godzilla for about two years, undeniably a amazing game, but I didn’t play it enough. It played too long for me and I’m not a competitive pinball player, I’m just average. Anyway, maybe I’m crazy, but I don’t miss Godzilla. Would take Metallica all day over Godzilla.
Just my 2 cents.
I’m right there with you. Sold Godzilla LE after seeing the whole game and would never sell Metallica LE. Music pins are keepers for the reasons you stated. Will be interesting to see this new rumored Metallica rerun. Stern has been repopping a lot of titles lately
If they make another Metallica, I’m keeping my LE and selling something to add a second Met! Can’t wait to see what’s coming. I hope it’s live concert footage and not the cartoon stuff like Aerosmith
Quoted from yzfguy:Has anyone actually heard of a new version, or is this all just people's imaginations?
As far as I know, any vault has been the same game. Maybe a metal backbox on a rerun or some other manufacturing differences, but where is all this concert footage LCD talk coming from?
I heard about a new incarnation of Metallica over a year ago from someone with an inside connection at Stern. He also told me about Venom and Jaws way before they were announced, so I trust him. I’m confident another Metallica is coming on the Spike 2 platform. I’d rather see a Megadeth, Judas Priest, Bad Company, or something new but more Metallica is never a bad thing
Quoted from Dee-Bow:Fold it up and put away in storage if you can afford it! Or not of course! Haha.. nice collection tho
That’s what I did. Have like 15 games folded up around the house. Metallica LE isn’t going anywhere!
Quoted from zermeno68:Ugh.. I should have done this. I sold my NBA Fastbreak and TFTC due to space issues. If I folded it up and tucked it away in the garage it would have been okay.
Dammit!
There you go, and if things get ultra tight, the games can be folded and stacked on top of each other (JK!). I do worry about the floor collapsing in the master bedroom. There are 12 pins in there LOL. My dream is to someday have all of my pins lined up in one space, but that’s unlikely to ever happen. The things we do for pinball!
Quoted from BigalzPinz:Wow ! 12 MET Pros and 6 Premiums for sale on Pinside Marketplace ! Sure to be a lot of crying when Stern doesn't follow through on the rumored remake...and everyones dumping the best music pin ever made ..... Great time to buy and get yours now !
A local collector who works in the video game industry told me about a new Metallica pin from Stern almost two years ago through an insider friend of his at Stern. Pretty sure it’s going to happen! He was also right about Jaws way before it was announced. As a MoP LE owner, I’m not even thinking about selling, only planning on picking up another Metallica LE after the launch hype settles and they start showing up on secondary. For now, keep the rumors about Pokémon, Marvel, Mario, Teletubbies coming which means my money is safe! Still planning to add Foo LE to round out my music pin collection
