Can one of you Metallica owners tell me what songs play during certain Multiballs.
I am changing out a few songs with pin browser and need to know which ones I want playing during different multiballs.
Thanks.

#3969 8 years ago
Quoted from Sparky:

Snake = Sad But True
Coffin = One (Lady Justice Mode plays the last part of One)
Sparky = Creeping Death and/or middle of Ride the Lightning
Graveyard = Master of Puppets
My changes:
Snake = Am I Evil?
Coffin = My Apocalypse (about 2mins short, so I added the last two minutes of ...And Justice for All, which plays in Lady Justice mode)
Sparky = Ride the Lightning from the beginning of the song (put it in Creeping Death spot, and replaced CD with Four Horsemen)
Graveyard = still MoP
Also changed Unforgiven to Shortest Straw
Also swapped Enter Sandman with a louder version of Enter Sandman.

Perfect.
Thanks.

#3973 8 years ago
Quoted from Apollyon:

Pretty sure coffin MB is "For Whom the Bell Tolls" and not "One"

Thanks.
Got the edited post.

Quoted from HoakyPoaky:

Two quick questions....
Where can I find a copy of pinball browser, and will it run on a Mac OSX? I'm guessing the answer is no.

Page one of this thread. And yes. It appears it can run on Mac.

#3991 8 years ago
Quoted from Hougie:

Edit: It looks to be the same.
Battery 476
Blackened 591
CD 702
ES 773
FTB 846
FWTBT 900
Fuel 939
MoP 998
One 1066
RTL 199
SBT 1281
SnD 1351
TEOTL 1429
Unforgiven 1494

I can confirm they are the same.
And there is a typo above. Ride the Lightning should be 1199 and not 199.

#4061 8 years ago

I don't get a lot of time on Metallica, but I was playing tonight and noticed that on the bonus countdown of how many times you hit each item there does not seem to be a sound for the second one, "Sparky switch hits." Or can I just not hear it?
Maybe all 4 items are not supposed to have their own sound and I am just imagining it all. lol
So I guess my question is, does each of the four bonus items have its own separate sound during the bonus countdown?

#4094 8 years ago
Quoted from dmieczko:

All four items have their own sound. Sparky Switch hits has an electricity buzzing sound...

Thanks.
I think I figured it out. Zero hits on something must be no sound.

#4096 8 years ago
Quoted from dmieczko:

That is correct. Don't get zero hits on something!

Thanks.
We should at least get a Whaaa, Whaaa... muted trumpet sound. lol.

#4140 8 years ago
Quoted from 85vett:

People, take note of these two points if you have a goal of EOL. This right here is why I feel more people have not seen EOL. I've been twice now and both times I was using this strategy. You NEVER want to start a MB when CIU is lit or is really close to lit (3 of the 4 inserts already lit) as you MB's should be used to qualify the next CIU (don't focus on Super Jackpots either). You also want to get in and out of CIU fast. Goal should be, as said above, to get out before the ball save is over. Just think of all the times you've drained in CIU. Met is the same as AC/DC in this aspect. If you want to see the wizard mode you have to make decisions that hinder high scoring. It's unfortunate that it's like that but it's the truth.

Good point. Will have to try this out when not in a tournament.

#4145 8 years ago
Quoted from Sparky:

I thought that was a strategy for reaching EOL in a home setting, not a strategy for high scoring. You also won't have the benefit of the extra balls.

Yes. That is exactly what I said.

#4177 8 years ago
Quoted from northvibe:

why don't you change it?

Agreed.
That is a very easy fix.

#4179 8 years ago
Quoted from PinCrush:

Because "Blackened" shows up on the DMD animated. I didn't think I could change that. Maybe I'm wrong.

The Blackened Text can easily be changed.
Animations are another beast entirely.
What is animated about it? I don't own a Metallica and it sounded like it was a Four Horseman animation that you wanted to keep anyway.

#4240 8 years ago

Just had my best game ever. Sparky multiball, Snake Multiball, Coffin Multiball (even though the audio says Casket Multiball), Lady Justice and CIU completing Fade To Black. 121 Million. What a rush. I'm sure I could have done better if I knew more of the rules.

#4243 8 years ago
Quoted from paulohotline:

Nice game Arcade!

Thanks. And sorry to hear about your stuck switch. That blows.
During Fade to black, I was playing on a Pro model so I just kept putting the ball in the pops. Post pass to the left flipper and put it in the pops some more. Could not miss. I looked like a real pro for all of 6 min. lol
Think I got 53 million Fade to Black.

Wow. The light show on the side art is amazing on this game.

Joined the club yesterday! This game is bad-ass! So much fun.
metpro.jpg

Nice.
And easy access for the truck I see.

#4437 8 years ago
Quoted from 85vett:

I have both games. My MET is still perfect while my ST shows a VERY small amount of wear. wouldn't worry about it on MET. ST is more likely to have an issue as that is basically all there is to that game. Shoot the ramps. In Met I'm not going for the ramps all to often.
In one game of MET I may shoot the ramps a couple dozen times. In a good game on ST I'm hitting the ramps a couple hundred times.

Very true.
Lady Justice is a fun mode but not something I am trying for.
To many other important shots on Met.

#4468 8 years ago
Quoted from cscmtp:

I JUST HAD THE GREATEST GAME EVER!!! I GOT TO END OF THE LINE!!!! 3 BALLS but I swear I got like 5 free balls. I have NEVER had such a rush, such a thrill. That was the most fun I've ever had playing a single game of pinball. My 7 year old son was right next to me just freaking out!! 984 Million!

Wow. Awesome game.

Are Metallica Pro LED's Snakes shipping with fangs?
I saw that some people were ordering fangs on some of the mod sites to go with the tongue sticker.

#4570 8 years ago
Quoted from Kcbbq13:

So what comes after EOL? I got to EOL last night and it timed out before I could finish it. I finally got CIU lit again, but drained trying to hit it... So I was curious if the normal CIU modes just start over or is there something else?
Thanks
1442678841693-1763365441.jpg

First time I have seen the eyeballs on the coffin lock insert on a pro.
What type of decal is that and where did it come from?
I'm not a fan of putting anything sticky on a playfield but that looks pretty nice in the photo.

#4572 8 years ago
Quoted from pinchamp:

Can someone give me some hints as to which tracks to change to which songs using pinball browser. I did figure out the songs but when I changed them it seemed to mix up the sparky and some of the other modes where I like the music. Suggestions?

Can't remember the multiball mode songs off the top of my head but here are the main tracks.

476 Battery
591 Blackenend
702 Creeping Death
773 Enter Sandman
846 Fade to Black
900 For Whom the Bell Tolls
939 FUEL
998 Master of Puppets
1066 One
1199 Ride the Lightning
1281 Sad but True
1351 Seek & Destroy
1429 The End of the Line
1494 Unforgiven

Edit... I think these are the multiball tunes. This was posted by another member awhile back.

Snake = Sad But True
Coffin = For Whom the Bell Tolls
Sparky = Creeping Death and/or middle of Ride the Lightning
Graveyard = Master of Puppets

What? Congrats on picking one up. Hopefully the ball doesn't fly through the cross on this "version".

Thanks Vett.
This purchase is largely due to you and my brothers visit to your place.
And yes the grave yard is working spot on.

#4594 8 years ago
Quoted from Rensh:

He, you copied exactly my line-up

They are a great set aren't they?

#4603 8 years ago
Quoted from btw75:

Looking at those scores, I'm not certain that its playing perfect.

Hougie is correct.
It now takes a game of 200 Million to make the board and the high score so far is 474 Million.
Of course having the current Texas state champion as a family member makes it tough to make it on the board.

#4604 8 years ago

Quick questions for all of you long time owners out there.
1. Is Sparky supposed to make a clacking noise as he shakes at multiball start? Ours does not. He just shakes.
2. What does the large box say on it that the snake spits out on Snake Multiball? Looks like "GALVO"
I have so far seen a cow, bomb, small box, and the large box.
3. What does the item that breaks on the DMD during Blackened say on it? Looks like "Metal Tip Jar"

I love catching all the hidden items on the DMD.

#4605 8 years ago

Congrats.

Any time I am in a hurry to go some place, I can count on having the game of my life. lol

#4637 8 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

Great score, I'm lucky to get 100m. But I don't know the rules too sooooo.

The rules to this game are amazing. There can be so many things going on at the same time the mind boggels.
I usually start a game with the intention of locking in one particular shot for the rest of the game. But if something starts happening faster like Graveyard, Sparky or Lady Justice, I just go with the flow.

#4650 8 years ago

We have only had our LED Pro a couple of weeks but today is my birthday and the mods are rolling in.

So far we have:
Snake fangs and tongue decal.
Graveyard side panel decals.
Shaker Motor (Not installed yet)
Speaker panel inserts with LED's (Not installed yet)
Pinnovators headphone jack with sub output. (Not istalled yet)
Modfather shooter Rod.

Tomorrow will be a busy day for mod installs.

#4654 8 years ago
Quoted from MustangPaul:

Now that's what I call a BD.

Thanks Paul.
It has been a great day.
Got a massage, Went to Golden Nugget Casino (And won), and then all the mods came rolling in.

#4690 8 years ago

This is not a Stern bashing post. Just posted to let others know what can happen with this game and maybe others.

Had a big surprise last night on our brand new Meatllica Pro LED.
I pulled the playfield up to install a new mod and heard a big piece of metal and screws fall down into the cabinet.
What the hell?
I looked down to find a large part of the ball trough had just come completely apart.
There was pictured below, a metal rail, spacer, 4 tiny screws and roller switch arm.

Of course we are having a major fundraiser tournament for Project Pinball this Saturday so we had to get this slapped back in working order. Turns out the plastic housing on the roller switch had broken apart so we had to tape it back together (shown below) in order to hold the arm in place.

Then we found out why the assembly fell apart. The 4 screws that hold it in place do not thread into the metal bracket!!!
They just push into place and spin and spin if you try to screw them in tight. So again more tape to the rescue. Lol
I will get some lock tight later, but it is working for now.
Anyone else experience anything like this.?

image.jpgimage.jpg
image_1.jpgimage_1.jpg

#4692 8 years ago
Quoted from LOTR_breath:

I have not seen that before. If it's still under warranty, I would provide them the pics and see if they can just send you another trough.

Pat at Stern is taking care of me.
But hopefully if someone else is going to have this problem they can now quickly know what to look for.

#4711 8 years ago

Here is an embarrassing moment for me.
The little screw fell out that holds in the snake fangs.
I found the screw in the bottom of the cabinet and the little spacer still inside the snake head.
Put it all back together (Cursing the whole time because of how hard it is to get to that little screw.), but noticed it was easier then last time I installed it. (More finger room this time).
Then I proceeded to play five or six games like this until my son pointed out my very obvious mistake.
Had to share. (And yes, one of his fangs already needs some dental work.)

I'm looking to buy a Metallica pro led. Not sure if this is the place to post this .(my first post.) looking for nib, best price including shipping. Have one quote already. Anyway feel free to contact me.

But that is a good price.

Quoted from Butch2099:

Is there another apron decal I can buy that doesn't have the seizure warning on it?

1445469543089.jpg

Funny.
I was wondering the same thing just yesterday.
Only with mine the warning is on the sticker just under the right outlane drain.
This is the best photo I could find.

#4804 8 years ago
Quoted from Lethal_Inc:

How do you adjust the height? and keep us informed if you find a sweet spot. I find it odd that a metal post would work better than a plastic post since the ball is metal you would think it would bounce back even more with a metal post?

I am in the same line of thinking. Plastic should absorb the momentum better.
But then again I do not get a ton of bouncebacks on mine.

#4806 8 years ago
Quoted from ViolinSteve:

plastic post, metal post, duplicate post...lots of posts about posts.

Touché. Or should I say threeche'

#4820 8 years ago

Possibly machine leveling and pitch might help those with bounce backs. Just an idea

#4862 8 years ago

Thinking about using locktite on the screw under the snakes upper pallet.
That damn thing keeps falling out and is a bitch to get back in place with the spacer and snake fangs.

#4869 8 years ago

Tape is not a bad idea to hold the snake fangs screw in place as well.

Quoted from Nexyss:

The sale was $25, and it will be $35 for future runs. I hope they become a stocked item one of these days. I would like to put one on my machine, but I am not going to try to chase the seller down to get notified to be one of the lucky ones to get to order it. I don't need any pinball product that bad.

I don't feel that way at all.
So the item sold like hotcakes. Great for them.
Sure they could have waited until they had a huge inventory and everyone would have gotten them at the same time.
But I applaud them for having the sale and creating buzz for their mod.
I don't mind waiting or the extra $10 bucks at all.

#5383 8 years ago
Quoted from rai:

Hey all, looks like I'm about to join the club. I held out (due to the music) but finally after reading all the great reviews I've decided to get a nice HUO pro.
I was curious if anyone has swapped out *some* songs for non Metallica songs. For me Metallica is not the big draw that it is for others, I was thinking of swapping in some NIN or something like that. I mean I'm not thinking of putting in John Denver or anything like that but some upbeat industrial or gothic or heavy metal songs. I think it's possible other songs will fit the dark fantasy artwork.
Anyone think that'll work?

Now you know I have sir.
I have done so many AC/DC and Metallica files for people my head spins just thinking about it. lol
Oh, and don't knock John Denver. Some "Grandma's Feather Bed" would sound awesome on this pin.

#5387 8 years ago
Quoted from rai:

You have a list of the song lengths like ACDC ?

Yep. But they are at my house and I am stuck at work.
We just got our Metallica a few months ago.
I have gotten used to the songs and have not swapped any out on my personal game yet.
But of course on AC/DC there was just no way I was going to own a game without Dirty Deeds and Shoot to thrill.

#5390 8 years ago
Quoted from kpg:

Anyone who puts any other songs then ones made by Metallica on the machine should have it physically removed out of their possession and their asses kicked. Thats just wrong. There's a guy on YouTube who put Led Zeppelin songs on their MET pinball - you might as well call that machine Cait Jenner pinball now.

But tell us how you really feel.

#5424 8 years ago
Quoted from sudsy7:

Has anyone experienced any problems from using alligator clips from the cabinet speaker to the subwoofer?

Nope. They worked great for us. But we now have Pinnovators headphone jacks an all our games with a sub output.

We just made it to End of the Line on our game twice this week.
I say we, (My son did it both times). lol

Both games ended up at 970 Million.
Oh so close the the billion mark twice.

If you mean the snake decal, it goes on the metal ramp. It's not a plastic ramp, so it could be completely removed with noneffect, and it does not change the behavior of the ball's travel.

Plus it is an EZ peel sticker.
Comes right off with no harm to anything.
Buy and apply with confidence

The best option would be someone with access to Lyman Sheets politely letting him know how much we would all love to have these two switches activated in a future code.
But the spinner activating the standup targets does not bother me one bit.
And being able to complete Fade to Black mode as easy as the LE owners can is awesome.
I never completed that mode once until I installed my spinners.

#6129 8 years ago
Quoted from gweempose:

Can you elaborate on this. I'm not very familiar with the rules.

Sure.
Fade to Black is one of the four options in Crank it Up.
To complete the mode and turn off all the games GI llights you need to complete a certain number of switch hits.
Not sure how many, but it is a lot.
The Spinners allow for tons of switch hits at once. The only thing comparable on the Pro would be the pop bumpers.
It takes a hell of a lot more time in the pops then it does for just a few spinner rips to achieve the end of the mode.
It is totally cool to play the game in the dark since you have "Faded To Black".

#6164 8 years ago
Quoted from smassa:

Or you could do what the rest of us have done if fully functional spinners matter to you.
Buy the premium!

They do not matter that much to me.
Perfectly happy with them attached to the standups.

Just played a long game where I had a long Snake Multiball, Coffin Multiball, Sparky Multiball and made it to Fade to Black and chose For Whom the Bell Tolls.
I was reading the display as best I could and listening for anything new but heard and saw absolutely nothing new.

I was paying strict attention to these things listed in the code notes:
- Added speech to the "Enter Sandman" and the "For Whom The Bell Tolls"
modes.
- Added speech for chair guy fry ready (electric chair multiball).
- Added a speech call for snake lock lit.

And I just did not notice or hear anything.
But on the bright side I did get 4X playfield and got the hear the Jack F'in Pot callout that I love so much.
Wish I had time for more games. I know it is all in there but somehow I missed it all. lol

I can't stand games without support brackets because of that damn Stern "hump".

I curse that damn hump weekly if not more. Lol
If I could blink and get rid of it life would be so much better.

#7571 7 years ago
Quoted from PunkPin:

theres a video floating around ill see if i can find and link it.. you have to have the service rails you cant do it with just the pegs, slide the playfield all the way in to the hump, rest it on the service rails, then use one arm to push down lifting the rear up the little needed to go over the hump... slides right back in

Thanks. I am aware of the service rail trick but I have 4 pro model games with pegs so I get to curse out the hump a lot. Lol
Maybe someday I will cough up the cash to put on rails. But it gets expensive fast.

#7597 7 years ago

Can anyone post some of the new call out's they have heard.
We have played over 30, 3 player games, so we are close to 100 games on the new code and have yet to hear anything new.
The only thing I think may be new is when you reach the score level for a free game and the game says "Hey, thats a free game".
But I'm not really even sure that is new.
So far the only thing we have noticed is the little crank it up bonus text screen you get when you collect your crank it up.

Edit... Finally heard a new quote today. During Sparky Multiball a band member said "Hurry the hell up"

#7625 7 years ago
Quoted from konghusker:

What are thoughts on the new code so far? Is it worth updating and losing high scores on the last code I thought was already great? We can't save high scores when updating right?

It seemed like a big deal when I read the release notes.
But had I not upgraded the game would be playing about the same.
No real noticeable difference.
You get an added bonus for collecting your Crank it ups but it is never very much. Maybe 2.5 mil
And I have asked several times if anyone has heard any new callouts they claimed to add, but so far nothing but silence.
I have heard two new callouts it 100 games.
It fixes some rules that were not scoring correctly but overall the game plays about the same.

Quoted from FlipperMagician:

Thought I would be in the club by now but my NIB premium appears to be lost, at least for now. I'm remaining optimistic, cuz, how do you lose a pinball machine right?
It shipped July 5th and made it to Los Angeles on the 7th, but hasn't moved since. I was getting some misinformation from R+L Carriers earlier in the week and finally got it out of them that they are "having trouble locating it" Hopefully JJ can light some fire under their asses because now he is sold out again, so if they don't find it I may be SOL for a bit...

Wow. That blows.
Keep us updated as to what happened.
That is way to long to sit at one terminal.

Quoted from Dkjimbo:

So if I go all the way to the left, and start going right, I get the songs in that order but the list stops and is all the way to the right at Battery. I cannot continue going right to select any of the last several songs.
Other times, the list starts on master of puppets (all the way to the left) and goes right to Fuel but never lets me pick anything to the "left" of master of puppets in the list.

I can not wait to find out what the hell is wrong here.
Because that makes no sense.
Every machine I have ever played lets me choose all 13 songs. No problem.

I got the pinballbulbs protectors as well. They are not clear in the middle. The middle part is just cut out leaving just a slim outline. One of mine cracked right away. Not very noticeable but rather have something more durable.

Just checked out their web page.
The photo they use does seem to have a clear plastic center.
I do not own any yet, but I do like the way these look.
So do the new ones have clear plastic in the middle now, or will they just be an outline?

Quoted from jawjaw:

That's what I thought, too. All I got was the colored portion cutout and they are pretty thin in some spots. They look good installed but not very durable.

Hmm.
Guess I will need to ask them what the deal is.
They clearly show, no pun intended, clear plastic with light reflecting off of it in their photos.
Edit.. I sent them an email to find out.

Maybe my order was botched. Let me know what you find out.

OK. Here is their response. I did get their permission before posting this.
Looks like they did have Clear inserts at one time but they just did not work out very well.
Here is the response below:

"Hey

So, they used to have a clear center, but in our testing would still break at times because acrylic is more fragile, but it provides the cool neon colors. The glue was also potentially leaking onto clear and making it not perfectly clear. Once installed, this couldn't be seen and looked perfect, but we heard "I paid XYZ for this..." so we cut the center step out.

What we have been doing now is cutting with no center and including a free extra sling protector. If one breaks there is a spare. Some are thinner than others and we base game testing and feedback from folks to see if they need to be thicker or will even fit if thicker then recut an send them new ones if there was a problem.

Hope that helps!"

Is this in the game??? Would love to actually change Blackened to Horsemen but everything on the DMD references Blackened during that mode...

You have to change it out with the Pin Browser program.

Clicked on the link to put a few of these in my cart.
While I was on the page I noticed they sold Shaker Motors.
Clicked it to see how the price compare to the typical $79 to $100 price for these.
Almost fell over when the $250 price came up.

But it's time for Andy Griffith now. So, Cliffy's and plastic protectors will go in tomorrow. Then I'll get to playing!

So funny.

Quoted from Thanos75:

Hey fellas...so it appears I have my first problem with my game. Haven't seen it covered yet.
I had noticed that sparky had stopped shaking when he was getting shocked. I thought it was a fluke but decided to check diagnostics to see if there was a test for it. Not one I could find. So I played another game and sure enough he didn't shake. Then all this smoke started blowing out the top of him. At first I thought it was a super cool effect that I hadn't heard about but then realized the situation. He is smoked.

Ouch.
I remember awhile back that happened to a few people that updated code with the coin door open or closed. Something crazy like that.
But I thought they had fixed that. Not sure why he would just smoke up. lol

Noticed that my two shoot again lights between the flippers were out as well as all 4 guitar pic lights right above them.
Turns out a small red wire had come unsoldered off of one of the shoot again light sockets. Back up and running now but it took a bit of pushing on the wires to even notice it had come loose.
