Quoted from darkryder:

Metallica LE got the full chrome treatment today. Thanks to Chris at Hot Rod Arcade for making this possible. A touch of class for a very special game…it’s perfect now! Still waiting for the chrome shooter rod housing.

Quoted from Vino:

Anyone get out to the Bay Area or happen to catch the Amazon streams of MET 40th shows over the weekend?
Last night kicked butt.
[quoted image]

I have not heard of this , thanks for the heads up .On another note ,when I first knew I wanted to get in pinball , a friends brother gave me his first run Met pro to sell. I wasn’t ready to purchase a pin just yet and he didn’t want to throw any money in it .I just tinkered ,cleared some switches and cleaned it as best I could .Ever since that pin sold I knew it was a must have and knew it would be a keeper , so I went for some pins that would be more attractive to my wife to ease her in to this face paced hobby .Fast forward to this past Saturday and I finally got “Made” thanks to Brobra! He found me a top shelf prem and took away my LZprem (I’ll be hunting down a LE when I can swing it ).Can’t even describe how much fun we’ve been having .I gave it a good cleaning/waxing today and it just exploded .I have some reading to do but I’m fucking stoked to add this to the lineup .I mean FUCKING STOKED!!!!!

Hey all
Sorry to interrupt but I just wanted to let you folks know If you were looking for the MET PowerBladez we have them back in stock again.

https://www.pingraffix.com/product-page/metallica-pinball-powerbladez-stern-pinball
Thanks!
Joe

Hey Joe .I’ve ordered from you multiple times and will always as you guys rock .I’m trying to find info on settings as I purchased that pin in the post above with them installed already .I have a small button controller that I’m not sure if it’s for the blades or not .After seeing these live now I want them for my IMDN but want to understand them first .If you can send something to me I’d appreciate it and to all Met owners look long and hard at these as the videos do not do it Justice .They add so much !

#19438 2 years ago

Hey guys .I have a couple hrs before returning to work again and about to pull up the PF.The problem is last ball drains ,then the game just keeps looking for the ball that’s gone .I’ll start reseating the trough opto but if any suggestions will be welcomed as I would love to get a couple in with the kids before going back in .

Quoted from barakawins:

Hi all,
I'm looking for the Sparky EL wire Electrocution Mod. Does anyone have this for sale?

I second that .

#19445 2 years ago

Thanks guys .There seemed to be a wire floating where it shouldn’t have been .It was to the light under the apron art .I swung it up and taped it and the problem was gone .Got a few in before work .I’m so fucking happy to finally own one !

Quoted from Indypin:

He made me one as well. Even though they were no longer in production, he found the original mold and was able to produce several more and may have made some extra. Contact him at Tilt Topper and he may have some for sale, but be prepared to wait for them.
Good luck.

I will thank you

#19516 2 years ago

God Bless LFS and God Bless MET pinball !!! First good game today ,445 ,made sparky (2) ,snake ,cross ,and hammer MBs n played bell roles n another !!! This game really makes you earn everything !! I fucking love it !!!!

#19517 2 years ago

My kids do too ,but I might have to adjust some settings until they understand the code .They’re over the show and want higher scores now .What would you suggest to make easier and is there a way to easily flip back n forth from stock to what I set ? Any input would be welcomed .

Quoted from Hayfarmer:

Give em 5 balls to play

They won’t get bored of this one but I just want them to play deeper a few times until they get it .

#19522 2 years ago
Quoted from Hayfarmer:

Set it a 5 ,6 ,or 7 balls for a week or so. They will learn it faster than you then adjust back. Awesome that your boys are into it!

My boys are like me .They gravitate toward Rock pins .Honestly is there any better theme ? If they’re having a hard time knowing what they’re going for I usually make it easier just until they understand the bulk of the rules then back to factory settings immediately .Myself I like to take the glass off and toss the ball around until I get it then strap it in .MET with the insert pickups is incredible ! This pin just had everything you want!

#19524 2 years ago
Quoted from yzfguy:

My 16 year old knows met better than I ever will. We can be playing and he is making fun of me for my lack of strategy and proceed to explain the rules to me

I really don’t want to be that old man calling kids “whipper snappers “ but here I am Lmao !

#19548 2 years ago

Looking for some help .I’ve been looking for the Sparky flasher lamps (premium version not sure if they’re different ) .I have a bunch of backup lamps that came with it but not these and do not see them in Marcos catalog or anywhere else Ive been looking .

#19549 2 years ago

Maybe one of these ?

Those comet flashers will work for the Sparky Flashers. I put Ice Blue in mine to give it a more electric look.

I was wondering about how the ice blue colors look.Won’t hurt to order a variety bag .Thanks guys

Quoted from Newtothis:

This is what it calls for but it’s just a 13v wedge base (906). You can use the ones you sent screenshots of but a 5SMD wedge base 906 would probably be the closest [quoted image][quoted image]

Thank you .

#19605 2 years ago

Note to self ……If ball gets stuck under hammer DO NOT stick your finger in there to give it a nudge !!!

Quoted from yzfguy:

Is that really from the hammer?! OUCH!!!

No just stole a pic .But man did it get me .I guess I got bit by the snake

#19626 2 years ago
Quoted from embryon:

It broke my finger not the hammer but the magnet core when it reset upwards.

I thought I was quick enough .How wrong I was lmao .That friken hurt !

#19627 2 years ago

What a Fing pin though !! The code is different than others for sure .I’m really liking the collecting (cross, elec, etc)part although not 100% sure how it works yet .Nothing better than when you get a good one rolling with this pin .Upgraded sound and voodoo glass are high on my list now since it’s not going anywhere .

#19631 2 years ago
Quoted from gambit3113:

The blue spider insert tells you which shot you are working on. Hit a drop target to collect the cross, snake to collect the snake, and Sparky to collect that insert. When all three are lit for that shot, everything is blinking. Hit the hammer to lock that shot in. You know a shot is completed when all the inserts stay lit for it.
I always start with the drops shot, because hitting one for any other shot will change it to working on the drops shot, anyway. Does that make sense?

Yes that is making sense now .I didn’t know there was a sequence to it ,thank you

#19637 2 years ago
Quoted from yzfguy:

My 16 year old son understands all this. He has tried to explain it to me a few times, but I just don't follow. I love the game and sometimes get lucky but he has every high score and I can't beat him even on my better games. My simple brain just doesn't get how to progress thru what you explained. On paper it makes sense, but while I'm playing it just doesn't click. I go thru the modes fine, but can't get to that next level.

I’ve had a few real deep games I had to take the glass off and toss the ball around with rules printed out .This works well for people like us lmao .Give it a try it will help for sure .

I’m having trouble finding this lamp in the manual .Did this come from the factory or an add on ? Is this a flasher ? I purchased some new wedge lamps from comet and cannot get it to work .I will get more into it tomorrow but was just trying to get some more info before I deep dive .

This is what I used. Does this seem correct to you ? Just want to get the lamp right before I start looking at the connections .

Quoted from Dee-Bow:

Yes.. try bending the lil wires on the end.. sometimes you have to move them around to get a good connection.

Ok thanks Dee -Bow

#19760 2 years ago

I ordered different colors to see what looked best but I just noticed the one I took out had wires (would correct term be leads ?) on both sides .These have only the one side .What would be the correct way to order with both ?

Quoted from Dee-Bow:

Let us know what you think of the blue flasher! Did u get two or just going to switch one out to blue? Should look cool and probably bright and so fast it shouldn't flood it out..

Funny day .Needed a 4A fuse for the magnets .3 stops nobody had it .The 4th also didn’t have them but I found a single variety pack that had 1 in it .Problem solved .Flasher 112-5041-08 looks to be a steeper hill to climb I’m pretty sure I’ve already hunted for these with nothing to show .I’m on it again and if I find them I’ll buy the lot so nobody goes through this again lmfao !

Quoted from metallik:

Need to replace the rubber on the left ramp righthand post, it's missing.

Thank you .I never noticed that .I’m guessing the previous owner wanted the extra space to hit Sparky.I’m doing a full “shop” soon and was up in the air about a sound upgrade .Some get by with a sub and others need more .What’s the popular opinion on what matches with Met ? I’m not a overboard guy but want what’s right for this keeper .I’ve also heard of a system that will take up to 5 pins .We always play one at a time here so this interests me as you can see rock pins are our fav !

Was looking for some help .I’m giving my precious a makeover and while installing Mezels cemetery mod , I got a little stumped .This new flasher (to right of yellow circle) will poke through to the top side p/f but the other (circled) I’m guessing push the connection through to top side then fold wire back to underside ? It has to connect to harness I fed from the top (arch) .Any help much appreciated and for the guy who asked about the color of my powder coat I’m still waiting on a answer I’ll lyk as soon as can .

#19943 1 year ago

Yes .I’m guessing I don’t need to feed the wires from the arch under the playfield .

#19944 1 year ago

The new flasher (that’s extended) will stick up through the PF .It’s the other wires with the connection that I’m not sure about because it has to come back down per instructions and they protrude out of the top and has another connect real close to housing .So I’m guessing get the connection up top then bend wires back down through hole ?

Looking for some help .I purchased my Met used and it came with pinstadiums. The back box lights , apron flashers ,apron art lights and GI lightning have never worked .I thought fuses but they’re all fine .Is GI lighting disconnected for these things? That’s what I thought this whole time but it doesn’t make sense.

#20016 1 year ago

Also this black line , I can’t find its partner .I’m guessing with all these alligator clips I’m dealing with Frankenstein .OCD is kicking in high gear it looks like a king night .Any help will be greatly appreciated

Quoted from Pickle:

Alligator clips are the devil. They can slip off and touch too many things. My suggestion would be to disconnect/remove the pinstadiums and start with getting the game working as it should…then get a good set of installation instructions from pinstadiums that match your kit if you want it installed. I do not have pinstadiums so others can confirm but I believe the install is not difficult and completely reversible unless a previous owner hacked into the wiring…Most important is to get your lighting working 100% then you can install the pinstadiums if you want hopefully without any issues. Plenty of people here have them so someone should be able to help sort this out for you.

Thank You .I started with removing them last night .I really thought it was going to be the fuses but indicator lights were on F1 thru F-5 and they tested fine .Going to work then pick it up again tonight .

Every tutorial I have seen tells the player to keep your eyes on the ball through the flip .That being said tge hammer , not anything else should block the “view” of the shot .

#20167 1 year ago

Miracles are real ! I was having issues with all the GI in this game .They never worked from when I got it but with the pinstadiums and power blades I thought that was it for lighting .Then I noticed the backboard lights and apron flashers were never working along with under the slings etc. I soldered one lead at the back left of backboard that broke loose ,checked all fuses were ok , and re seated connections but did nothing .Then a big storm was coming through last week and I unplugged our pins .I turned MET on today an low and behold …..A fing miracle ! Can anyone chime in on what they think the issue was ?

Damn.. do you know the name of the green powder coating used on your premium..after seeing it again in the secret santa thread i really like it! I haven't done my Metallica but still plan to one day.. kinda like the green over the purple lately!
My Metallica hasn't been home for a while and is currently in a brewery being enjoyed by lots of locals! Will get it back home in the next few months though.

I agree ,the green looks like it belongs more than the others I’ve seen including mine .

Quoted from mbl1116:

You nailed it...took a chance and just got the game. Opto and LED issues turned out to be nothing.
It's basically a stock Pro LED, so I'd like to add a few things to it. Already have a ColorDMD on the way. Any other must haves? Speaker upgrade/Particular side blades/etc[quoted image]

Need the Sparky light show .I hear it’s a must on pros .

Quoted from snakesnsparklers:

If he is referring to the Total Lightshow then yes, unavailable for years now and no plans to go back into production.

No kidding .Who made them? You would think there would be a constant flow of demand for these .It took me a couple years to grab a premium also .It came with pin stadiums and whomever set them up did a nice job because the only flash with hits to the 4 MB mechs .They’re more a accent as opposed to some Ive seen on as the GI for games .

Quoted from pinballjah:

I am working on some flipper button protectors for Metallica. These are some prototype photos for sizing so actual will be a nicer material. They will be cut onto black plexiglass (or any custom color if you have powdercoating). I may add metallic paper under neigh so the "Metallica" name stands out more.
Plan to work on the Rush LE guitar next to make it available for the Pro/Premium. Please let me know if any interest for MET owners. Thanks.

I’m really liking that see through look .Is it a add on to the lollipops ?

#20603 1 year ago
Quoted from pinballjah:

I didn't think see through would look good as it would then be hard to see the Metallica name. It would be a separate product from lollipops. It would be made from plexiglass. I would also add felt pads under neigh the flipper protector to ensure the material did not stick to the decals over time. Some of the other clear plastic flipper protectors do stick to the decals.

Im interested . I’ll be waiting to see what you come up with

After all this time I’ve had my Met I’m just now getting to some loose ends .Does anyone recognize this board ? It’s installed under the plunger ,inside of cabinet .A power cord leads from the board to the back box hanging there , there’s a 2 wire harness from the board that was cut off at some point for something close by the board and it’s hanging there .Then a power cord coming into the board from a power strip .I was thinking a topper but the 2 wire setup in front doesn’t make sense .Please lmk if you recognize this

Also I had all the GI go out before .I tried to trouble shoot to no success .Then I unplugged all pins went on a vacation and when I got back I booted it up and the GI was working .Then recently went out again .Fuses are fine .I’m in the book looking for the main connection where the GI starts now .If anyone has had a similar problem pkeaae lmk this seems like something that’s a easy loose connection

#20619 1 year ago

For headphones, aftermarket? Can you get a better photo of where the board is?</blockquote Didn’t mean to disappear after my questions , but this new covid strain got me real good .

Ok ,GI fixed ,now I’m down to 2 things .1)working with Joe from pingraffix to see if I can get the right power blade going and 2) the mystery mod power cords shown here.I know pinside likes a good challenge so here it goes. The box with the blue light feeds power to that board mounted under the plunger .That board has the black wire coming out that I’m holding in my hand and it’s severed (no idea what was at the end ).Then there’s 2 adapter like cables that come out of the board ,1 goes to the adapter with the green light shown and the end sits in the cabinet , 2goes up through the head into the back box and is just hanging there .Does anyone have any idea what this may have been used for ? I want to know before I pull it all out .It may be something I want to replace .Any info will be greatly appreciated

Some kind of a light sensor triggered mod. Do you have lighted hinge plates maybe? Lighted dmd surround?

No hinges or DMD surround .

The adapter cables are what’s baffling .

Run any part #s in google, tell you what it is.

Good idea ,I didn’t see any but I’ll look closer .

No there’s 2 cables like this (I always remember these from Nintendo ,Atari etc usually to power up the consoles ) .One ends in the back box and the other in the cabinet .I don’t see any kind of markings on the board .There’s actually a third line (molex?) shown that one leads to the cabinet also .

Quoted from John-Floyd:

got mine a couple months ago. The 3M Stick pads it comes with seem VERY strong. No issues with mine so far - seems very Sturdy even with Nudging, but I would prefer a bolt-on method like that one guy made for himself. More of a peace of mind thing...

Hmm ,piece of mind .Are you sure you’re talking about the right pin John ?
