I just received my Metallica Pro Pinball Refinery Edition and I have to say that this machine is awesome! I started looking for a standard Pro and then got connected to Steve at MI Pinball Refinery and decided to splurge and get this beauty. I have to say that the whole experience was outstanding. I am new to the pinball scene only recently acquiring a beautiful Stargate so I had plenty of questions for Steve. He was more than happy to talk to me multiple times before making a decision. After I did, he kept me informed along the way and gave me some other tips for when the machine arrived. The machine arrived in perfect condition and right on time. I was super impressed! If you are on the fence about getting one of these or any PB Refinery machine, just do it. Top notch quality and craftsmanship for a one of a kind pinball. Here are a few pics but they don't do it justice...

Quoted from Pinballocd:

Congrats and welcome to the club!

Thank you! It's an awesome game to play but seeing some of these scores are impressive. I have a lot of learning to do...

Watch the McSirTuna tutorial if you haven't...

This video is awesome. I’ve only watched the first 8 minutes but will finish later. Thanks for sharing!

It is definitely a cool mod. I bet that Star Trek is an awesome machine too!

Here ya go. It was Gio’s personal machine and it is pimped to the max. I paid up for it, but love the game.[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Finally got a decent score on this machine! Still not as good as many I see in here but it’s a start. This game gets better every time I play it!

Quoted from roar:

Are you aware of the super skill shot? You can break 2MM without flipping by holding down the left flipper while plunging, then let go of it as the ball enters the orbit... if you touch the nothing the ball should bounce from the left flipper to the right flipper into the mystery scoop, awarding the super skill shot, do that on all 3 of your first shots and you will be over 2MM every time

I tried this tonight and it didn’t even come close to working.

Question for the group: Every once in a while, my ball gets hung up coming out of the shooter lane. Almost like it’s catching an edge or something that kicks it out straight sideways or even up. I can’t visually what is causing this and happens 10%-20% of the time.

Anybody seen this before or have any ideas?

Quoted from j_m_:

I'm still experiencing this same issue. do you happen to have one of the older, wooden back box models w/ the wolverine style claws auto plunger?
[quoted image]
that could a portion of the problem when the balls are launched by the machine due to the fact that everything is offset and a bit of play can cause only one of the "claws" to make contact with the ball. I picked up one of the new assemblies (see below), but still haven't found the time to install it yet
[quoted image]
if you're having issues when you manually plunge the ball, I would check to see how the rod is striking the ball in the shooter lane. it should strike it dead center. if it doesn't (and makes contact off center, that can put side-spin, top-spin or bottom-spin causing it to not glide up the shooter lane smoothly
you'll want to loosen up the 3 screws that hold the shooter rod assembly and adjust them so that the rod strikes the ball as close to center as possible and then tighten back up. it make take a few attempts to get the location dialed in correctly

I have the newer style metal back box but I can see that the plunger is defintely off center. I will try and adjust it to see if that makes a difference. Thanks for the info man!
