Premiums did get the M’s….mine has them
Quoted from Anony:Did stern install a metal protector in front of the snake at any point? I just got my cliffy set and realized the snake already had a protector in front of it which is confirming my suspicion that the previous owner removed a bunch of mods before selling it to me, but I guess was too lazy to remove this one [quoted image]
Factory installed…
My premium has round speaker holes, no Ms. Sounds like they did it differently depending on what production run it was.
Quoted from WildRover:Does anyone need an orange powder coated MET LE metal apron?
Pics?
Quoted from Medic:Does anyone have a premium with fluorescent green or orange plastic protectors? Since the premium/LE have colored leds I heard it doesn’t look as good but wanted to see if others like theirs.
i like to mix it up Green plastics with orange titans .

Agreed. Pretty sure it was a short run of non LED pro’s…the LED pro was released soon after Premiums started shipping as people started asking why the pro’s didn’t have LED’s. It was also at that time Stern switched to the metal back box and that is probably what was used moving forward for both the pro and premium and the M’s were dropped.
Here is a pic of mine for reference.

Hmmm….mine does not. Weird.
Quoted from Gunnut40:Hmmm….mine does not. Weird.
Not weird, mine doesn't have them either. They stopped adding them at some point in one of the many different runs.
someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that the initial premium editions were all of the "monster" variety. stern then produced the roadshow case cabinet and carried over the last of the premiums that were also produced.
the original backbox for the pro's (with incandescent lights), premiums and the master of puppets LE (both of which had LED boards) were wooden with the square speaker holes.
the switch to the roadshow case pro's (and last remaining premiums) ushered in stern's metal backbox, which also featured the angled (round holed) speaker panel to help eliminate the glare from the DMD on the playfield glass.
Hi Guys,
My Met has started behaving erratically; sending additional balls when it should not, killing flippers till the ball drains...
Through opto is registering fine and soldering has been reflown. I don't think the issue is there.
On my ST Pro I also had some weird opto issues which were solved by changing the MPU.
Could it also be the culprit here?

This exact same thing happened to me last year. It turns out one of the trough wires came undone. I soldered it back, and everything was back to normal.
I think there's four wires, and one of them came lose.

Magnetic balls? Loose opto plug? If you can pull the plug with almost no effort it will come loose during game play.
Put it in ball clear mode and watch the screen while you cycle through the balls. All optos involved will be indicated on the screen. Definitely a trough issue. Also ck switch in shooter lane.

Mine has square speaker holes and the M's installed.

I have two connections, one one wither side of thr trough that need fully seated from time to time.
Quoted from John-Floyd:I have a MET pro with the plastic apron bottom arch. Is it possible to upgrade to a nicer steel apron like I have on all my other games? I’d like to buy a purple powder coated one if possible as I’m going to powder coat my machine in the next few months.

Quoted from Roostking:I have two connections, one one wither side of thr trough that need fully seated from time to time.
A lot of the time, it's the wiring on upper ball trough opto connector that is loose. It's an IDC crimp and there's a lot of vibration in that area.
Part 12
I'd definitely put that in my Pro! Mine has a few mods and I'm not picky about being 'original'. I'll PM you.
Quoted from WildRover:You got it. Its in perfect condition, never used....the guy I bought the Pro from was prototyping colors and he never got the rest done. Its a matching candy orange with a slight sparkle to it:[quoted image][quoted image]
Quoted from pinballjah:New glass cover, little shorter than the others I have but can see full apron cards now.

I like it!
617264C2-65FD-42D9-ABD7-516A15327A0A (resized).pngI just got my 3d snake mod installed and wasn't able to fit the plastic ball deflector that goes behind the snake/beside the hammer. I've already had one ball pop up and get stuck on the hammer handle.
Anyone else have this issue? Any advice to deal with it? I think I could install the deflector on one post only, but the second one just barely doesn't fit.
Whelp, dream pin came up three days after getting this so time to go! Posting it in case anyone knows anyone looking. Thanks!
Man…I know there is a reason I never look at pins on EBay…a MOPLE is listed for $24K and a refinery Pro for $14.5K….
So I will offer up my Premium at $17.5K…let the bidding begin LOL!

eBay fees are like 20 percent with cc fees too so that’s why $$$$
Quoted from Medic:Does anyone know where I can get this rubber stopper from the back box? I’m missing one thanks
Just got one for my walking dead..
I like comparing my scores to other qualifying scores from big tournaments. Set your Metallica Pro to no extra balls and tighten up the tilt and play 3 or 4 games and compare your best game today to the scores to from the NYC pinball championship tourney qualifying last weekend.

Just want to bump this question one time before I start looking into designing a 3d printable hammer cover to stop the balls from hanging up there.
I wanted to raise the music volume and not the call outs. I saw a music volume setting but no voice setting. A poster on here said there were two settings voice and music? Are there two settings to control voice/music or just the music volume? Thanks
I believe it's called music attenuation. Adjust the overall volume, then reduce the music attenuation to make it louder that the call outs.

Attenuation. Negative numbers increase the volume of the music without adjusting the master volume

Thank you OutlawTorn304 as well. I didn’t even know this option existed!
Now this guy can rock to louder music!

Getting a Met in the next few days, and I noticed some have UV light rails different than the pinstadium ones mounted on the playfield not on on the sides. I’m guessing it’s probably not a mod that’s not available anymore and/or is it better to just get pinstadiums for it?

Totally different concept. Those UV rails were invented/made close to when the pin was made. If I recall correctly Pinstadiums showed up a couple of years later.

Ok cool thank you. Will look into some pinstadiums then. I have the art blades they used for the UV, so would be sweet to be able to use that effect.

I didn’t know about this till you posted it, people want like 80-100 bucks for that figure now
I did buy the Eddie replica guitar I’ll figure out a use for though.

You can get the upside down capsule from Amazon for $20 for a two pack. It’s random so you may not get him. Please post a picture if you decide to use that guitar in the game

Do you mean these from pinball refinery?
Quoted from gonzo73:Metallica died the day Jason left.
Fact.
Agree…Metallica sold out long ago and hasn’t put a a GREAT album since the Black album. And that album was when Metallica went commercial….they got money and an arrogant…..still a great band to see live but their new music is just….lazy and and uninspired sounding to me.

Fact.
U mean Cliff?! (Jason was amazing too. But, so is Rob!) Maybe the problem is someone else!
