Quoted from mikespins:

Mine is the same way.

Wow, amazing!! Great job, I'm sure if you wanted to make a few for sale there would be plenty of people who want one.

Sorry, It's hard to source the skulls on ebay and a bit tedious on the labor. Maybe around Halloween more will pop up. Anyone who wants to know how I did it can just hit me up. I have an optocoupler and programmable timer relay in the mix.

Quoted from Scott8806:

The ball is being ejected into the shooter lane way to hard.

I noticed my TWD kicked out the ball pretty hard, so I wrapped some pipe cleaners around the plunger spring to add some cushion there and tune it down. It has been fine for ~300 plays so far. I plan to add that to Metallica and others also.

edit - just noticed a loose screw in that photo!

I’m having trouble finding this lamp in the manual .Did this come from the factory or an add on ? Is this a flasher ? I purchased some new wedge lamps from comet and cannot get it to work .I will get more into it tomorrow but was just trying to get some more info before I deep dive .

Look at them bulbs! Both are flashers on sparky.. spotlights are on on the slings!

This is what I used. Does this seem correct to you ? Just want to get the lamp right before I start looking at the connections .

Yes.. try bending the lil wires on the end.. sometimes you have to move them around to get a good connection.

Let us know what you think of the blue flasher! Did u get two or just going to switch one out to blue? Should look cool and probably bright and so fast it shouldn't flood it out..

#19759 2 years ago

Yes let us know, i was thinking about changing my flashers on sparky in the topper to give it a differnt look.

#19760 2 years ago

I ordered different colors to see what looked best but I just noticed the one I took out had wires (would correct term be leads ?) on both sides .These have only the one side .What would be the correct way to order with both ?

I figured since backbox was white flashers either blue ,purple or lime green would add some “spark “.

#19762 2 years ago

Funny day .Needed a 4A fuse for the magnets .3 stops nobody had it .The 4th also didn’t have them but I found a single variety pack that had 1 in it .Problem solved .Flasher 112-5041-08 looks to be a steeper hill to climb I’m pretty sure I’ve already hunted for these with nothing to show .I’m on it again and if I find them I’ll buy the lot so nobody goes through this again lmfao !

Need to replace the rubber on the left ramp righthand post, it's missing.

Although 13 Volts AC seems odd?

Thank you .I never noticed that .I’m guessing the previous owner wanted the extra space to hit Sparky.I’m doing a full “shop” soon and was up in the air about a sound upgrade .Some get by with a sub and others need more .What’s the popular opinion on what matches with Met ? I’m not a overboard guy but want what’s right for this keeper .I’ve also heard of a system that will take up to 5 pins .We always play one at a time here so this interests me as you can see rock pins are our fav !

I've sadly never hooked a sub up to mine yet! I even bought that pinsmx splitter to run 3 pins off one sub. Next time it comes home i will! And i will finally change some songs! (It's on a temporary trade for my buddies TWD) yes, i just had a " damn i love this pin" moment!

No I purchased it via Brobra .He got it from a downtown Chicago business .I’ll reach out and see if he can find out .It’s really cool in person as you walk up to it .

Interested in a trade, locally, for a Metallica premium for my Rick and Morty BSE…

Thanks for looking.

Quoted from OutlawTorn304:

Need some help with my slingshots. They are super weak and just lob the ball back and forth and I can’t figure out why. New rubber, new switches (left side only just to see if it helped for now) and the coil sleeves are not very dirty at all. I’m at a loss, any advice at this point would be greatly appreciated.

Got this issue fixed. I replaced the q13 and q14 transistors on the driver board and now my slings kick ass. I’m going to replace the snake eject transistor as well because it’s weak with no sign of mechanical failure

#19778 2 years ago

My Met Pro keeps blowing F11 fuse about 2 minutes after boot. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I'm going to test BR5, hoping that's the culprit.

Edit: nevermind, all good. Was a mod causing it.

I'm curious as to why you looked at those transistors to replace and why you thought that would work for your problem? Why would the slings still work in a weak state vs full power if those transistors were no good?

Looking for a Metallica in the Twin City area.

After testing voltage at coil I sent Stern an email and that was their recommendation. Voltage read good but they didn’t have any ass so it seems the amplifying property of the transistor shit the bed. I asked if it was a common issue and they said they have seen it before but it’s mostly seen in weak flippers and the slings aren’t as common.

Or people would have never thought to check it. I have seen a few people ask your question and this is the first time I have heard of your solution. It's good information to have. So no DMM testing of the transistors would show the problem either?

#19783 2 years ago

Just got my ticket magnet from j_m_, direct image from the stubs I saved from the show, same seat, section. Pretty sweet!!

Didn’t test them. They were cheap and easy enough to change so I went with it. Voltage is one thing but current is another so I rolled the dice and it worked

Anyone know if there are new premium playfields for sale? Have done some looking but didn't find one. Thanks in advance.

Dan

back when I picked mine up (and stern was still producing the game), they were hard to find as well and not cheap. I think I paid about $800 for my extra.

#19789 2 years ago

So I just went through the changing of the battery on my Dialed In, which the pin needs to be on. What is the process with Sterns? Can I just change while game is off or not?

if you change them with game off, you will lose all your settings and scores.

Ok, so game on with any pin manufacturer will work? Thanks

Don’t know about every manufacturer, but for all stern, jjp, Cgc and bw, the answer is yes.

G'day guys, just for something different i recently designed a James Hetfield shooter rod, obviously more a caricature than photo realistic (with some liberties taken on hair colour etc) but i think he's still recognisable
My camera does tend to overcompensate with light so it does cover up some of the more subtle skin tone variations, look better to the eye.

#19795 2 years ago

I have a strange situation and hopefully someone in this group might be able to point me in the right direction. I moved my Metallica premium from one side of the room to the other (on sliders) and now when I plunge the ball I can no longer hold the left flipper to lower the peg in the orbit which I’ve always been able to do with this machine until now. I can’t find anything in the settings related to that. The peg does come down in normal game play so it does work

Check the shooter lane switch and test it with the ball not your finger. You may be able to also do some slight adjustment to the auto plunge fork to get things right.

You were exactly right. Shooter lane switch was loose. It worked when I pushed it with my finger but just as you predicted it didn’t work with a ball. Thank you

Played a pro for the first time today. Kicks ass but sure premium is better. The front cross drop was broken.

Anyone around Ohio or so want to sell or trade their premium? I have a lot to trade.
