We have around 3000 in around 2 years, still looks great, with no noticeable wear anywhere.
met is the first choice for all guests who are at our house

I feel bad w/ my measly 300 plays or so, but other pins are getting worked over.

No reason to feel bad, it'll be there waiting and ready to go whenever you want to start playing it. It's a great game, you should spend some time on it.

#17110 4 years ago

Alright ! That’s what I was hoping to hear !!!Met is a blast !! Crank it up and play it till the flippers fall off !

Besides Marco and PL, does anyone have a source for a replacement Sparky? The right foot on mine cracked off (in less than 600 plays) and I was hoping to not pay $200 for a replacement. TIA

Check the following thread, and ask Tommy if he will make some more feet. I had replacement feet on my MET Pro, and you would never know...

Also wanted to know about another place to buy the pro cross?

Recently I have been having an issue when playing a game. If I hit one of the grave targets it has been starting master of puppets or graveyard multiball instead of knocking all 3 down plus additional hit/s. What could be causing this premature multiball?

Dodgy grave opto, opto amplifier board, or the connection/connectors inbetween?

Try a switch test and hit the playfield by the drops to see if it registers that opto maybe.

I remember going to Gatlinburg TN about this time last year with my wife to visit my father in laws cabin. This was our first visit since the first cabin had burned down in the fire a few years back. It was going to be very special for us, we were going to go hiking with the dogs, enjoy the sun and mid 50s predicted that week. Instead, the forecast changed, rain the entire weekend... No worries, It will still be amazing, ill find something to do. I was REALLY into retro gaming so on a whim i googled "retro gaming stores gatlinburg". Went to a place that was pretty cool (cant remember the name) and ended up purchasing on old used sega genesis and copy of mortal kombat 2 . It was still early, so back to google.... find a place called "Gatlinburg Pinball Museum".... pinball? meh... but they have TONS of epic video games!!!! they sell all day wristbands for 15 bucks to play anything.... sounds a LITTLE high to me, but im ok with it. Wife and I go in, and I see pinball machines. Arcades were all over too, but those pinball machines, they stood out, big time.

This is way too much rambling, the above is true, im slightly intoxicated, long story short I fully converted from arcade to pinball because of this machine, and will soon be purchasing my second pinball machine

I suddenly feel compelled to purchase Dolly Parton pinball now

Cant believe your wife's Dad has a cabin in Gatlinburg! That right there alone was a good reason to marry her!

Its a nice perk thats for sure.

On another note, when starting multiball im always getting distracted and staring up at the physical pic target shots to make sure I get them all for add a ball.

Last night I realized..... the pics are also represented as flashing lights down at the flippers..... lol I've owned the game since early summer, and never knew.

Yes sir they sure are. Isnt MET a great game? You do have the newest code on yours dont you? 1.8 I think it is?

You should consider renting one of those chalets with a hot tub and pinball machine. Rainy weekend no prob. One of them had a white water. I've heard stories though that some need to be fixed and dont play. Pretty much a lure.

1.8 indeed, and this game is a no regret purchase that’s for sure. I’m sure to most you guys this is just another Saturday night, but a very nice score for me . What a rush.

That's not just another Saturday night bro, you blew it up! Nice game!

#17127 4 years ago

I'd say, nice score!

#17128 4 years ago

Metallica is about as perfect as you can get for a great pinball game! Both the rules and layout are top notch! And the shots are intuitive, unlike JP where I find the right ramp and orbit are really difficult shots.

Hey all, I purchased this Cemetery mod from Hoby1 on Pinside. I just installed it. Wow, what a cool mod and super easy to install. And very good quality.

I'm looking into purchasing a Metallica Pro in the next couple of weeks. It has ZERO mods on it. I was considering adding both the COLOR DMD and SHAKER MOTOR, do you guys think they're worth it? I realize it's all subjective but for those who invested in them, are you glad you did?

Hell yes!
But I recommend the LCD (will require the mounting bracket provided by Color DMD). Costs a little more, but you have more options. I like the Scan mode the best. It's a high resolution mode, but doesn't look flakey like Hires mode. Many people like the Dots XL mode also.
Also, get this black 1" thick foam from amazon for a gasket... It's peel and stick. It keeps out the light from back box and lighted speakers (if you have them).

ColorDMD in this machine is a must, the animations look sooooo good in color. I cannot imagine it without a shaker motor either, the Ride the Lightning mode just wouldn't be the same!

Get the shaker and the Color DMD - you can't go wrong great add ons

and FANGS if the snake doesn't have them- it looks lame without

#17145 4 years ago

Like everyone else, I think ColorDMD is a “must have” in this game. I have the shaker as well, but ColorDMD is the big one for me. It’s a really good implementation and looks like it should be there. Without it, the dots look old (in my opinion).

I don't think anyone has regretted getting colordmd to be honest. A bit expensive but really transforms games like Metallica that have great dots but poor stock displays. I recommend getting an external sub over shaker. The sub gives the music and sound effects more punch and fits the pin better. That said, shakers are relatively cheap so get one if you think you will like it. I just don't feel it's that important and rumbling gets excessive.

I recommend snake fangs, metal pop up post to replace stock plastic one, plastic protectors, bigger sparky protector for air balls, skull insert for lock lights, and the cross insert block things. All these things are cheap and useful.

#17148 4 years ago

Color DMD, yes.
I unplugged my shaker.

#17149 4 years ago

Just and FYI, I prefer the stern shaker and not the red tremor shaker.

anyone have meallica, Jurassic park and attack from mars? all different. considering 1 of them. not sure which. always hard deciding.
