Ref Magnet Core - Thanks Guys Appreciated
Quoted from zene10:Thanks x 3. 1- for your sparky protector and 2- for the validation.
Please post a picture.
3- for making a post based on fact and less of “not true based on my pin”

A six pack is waiting if we ever meet.
I'm confused. Rickwh said he had rectangle inserts.

Everyone had rectangle inserts.
Quoted from KnockerPTSD:Everyone had rectangle inserts.
So why the thanks for validation and request for pics?
Quoted from Habeboo:Hey I just wanted to post a couple pics and a video link to a custom Metallica Sparky topper that we built. It has multiple levels, 3-D electro balls and custom molded front face.

Where am I able to get this?

Yes, I’m a liar liar pants on fire.
I’m validating 100% of MET playfields are exactly the same without any possibility of variation.
I’m joining the herd.

According to pinside there are over 1,700 Metallica machines out there. From 2013-2018 with not one reported variance in routing until now. It's not that you are a liar but people make mistakes and then stubbornly defend them for no good reason. In this generation of technology, cameras, and records, its not true unless there is evidence. Start photoshopping something or get your router out lol.

Yes, I'm agreeing I'm a liar. No further need to examine this topic. Carry on pinside.

I was just confused that you were thanking Rickwh for validating your claim, but he said his inserts were rectangle.

Strange that you would agree with something that was never stated. Nobody called you a liar. Possibly confused... maybe wrong... but not a liar. Why would someone lie about something like that? That person would have to be pretty messed in the head....
I cant be the only one this is happening too.. but it almost seems like my coffin has been magnetized. Balls being released from the coffin were getting stuck. I changed the balls and its a bit better but they are still struggling to release. Anyone have a fix for this? Thanks!
Quoted from RobF:Received this kit and it is not quite as complete as I would have hoped. There are quite a few pieces not included to make this work and those don't look to be sold separately. My plan is to 3D print the missing parts.
The Kit:
[quoted image]
For fun, mine came missing one of the nylon guide blocks. Marco shipped me a replacement. Also it isn't clear to me why there are 4 diodes
What's missing; Parts 3,4,5 from the first diagram, 1,3 from the second and 4,5,6 from the third.
Been awhile but I purchased this rising cross kit off RobF and have finally finished making all the missing pieces. I started by machining up the cam that pushes the switches.
I then machined up the pin with the circlip groove for the sliding piece out of stainless steel, I also made the angle slides with the intention of welding to the existing pro cross assembly. After getting all the pieces together I found out the pro assembly is just plated steel. So I figured I would just make a whole new slide assembly from Stainless steel. I used stainless angle sections which I TIG welded down the middle as I would not have the room to fold back on itself as the originals are made in a press.
Then a connecting arm and all finished.
Just need to find out from Mike the best way to connect to the Total Lightshow and it will be good to go!

I have sat it in to check spacing and to make sure nothing fouls but it’s not wired up yet.
Thanks very much for letting me pop around to take measurements from yours mate!

They are not.

Well, you're WAY down there. I was referring to New Jersey.

Oops sorry
Installed a cliffy on my game. On initial boot after the installation, the game 'rewarded' me by giving me a ghost line on the display...aargh...
But one day later and some soldering action (swapping the block)... the display is good again
Quoted from Matesamo:Can anyone tell me if these are the original speakers that came stock on the machine?
No, Josh had told me he upgraded them.

This has always been an issue on my game. Yesterday it was bad and balls would not release from the casket lock. I'm not sure what the answer is except for replacing the balls.

Quoted from Gort:It looks like Marco's has the Monsters translite back in stock. Get them while you can!
Thanks for the heads up!! I got mine yesterday , and see they are already soldout

This happened for the first time to me today.... And I was having a monster game -- 71M when it happened, and already started a CIU and S&D. Had to abort the game because the ball wouldn't come out. When I tested it afterwards though, there were no problems, so... Not sure if it was a fluke or if I need to replace the balls.

I never had this problem until I bought balls from ball baron. I thought maybe I had bought the wrong ones even though I ordered the ones on the website that said work for magnets but I'm not sure. I'm going back to another source.

Thank you for the heads up. Got one

Same, I got the first one. Great find. I think whatever one I do not use will look nice in on of the Stern Light box's.

I think i actually like the Pro artwork better, but I'm a huge fan of Donnys art and Metallica too. I think I will just swap them out from time to time, being that my Metallica is never leaving my collection.
So who's getting their kids this?

A is for And Justice for All
B is for Black Album
C is for Creeping Death
...
I wonder if N is for Napster
Quoted from gliebig:Is there a setting to dim the back box lighting when you star a game like IMDN has?
Nope
Can anyone help me out with a list of differences between the older and newer runs of the pro? (Light sockets- wood/metal backboxes, etc). why they changed, Which one is better? In the market for one and just trying to get educated.
Thx in advance
Mike

That turned out awesome! Glad you made good use of the parts. I am finally progressing on my standalone Pro rising cross mod as well. Although, it isn't nearly as shiny My first prototype is now functional for both the mechanical and the controlling circuitry. Next step is to move the circuit off the breadboard and get make up some PCBs. I'll start a new thread with some videos when the next rev is done.

Older pros had wood backbox, wood speaker panel, no art on speaker panel, incandescent GI and inserts.
Newer pros (commonly known as Pro LEDS), had metal backbox, current Stern style, metal speaker panel, art on speaker panel, tilted speaker panel for less reflection on pf glass, LED GI and LED inserts.
They changed because all Pro production games changed to LEDs and metal backboxes later in the same year MET came out, starting with ST pro.
I don't see any advantages to the original pro over the pro led, other than the possibility of price.
Colordmd LCD panels fit better in wood backbox models. Also heard that playfields in older models had more vibrant colors but not sure about that. I forget the dates, but there was a run that had a playfield issues of ghosting inserts and chipping clearcoat. I got my pro around that time and had a few ghosting inserts but clearcoat fine. There are also issues with decals peeling off backbox on the metal versions.
Mechanically, both versions are exactly the same as far as I know. Both use SAM boards and play exactly the same. LED version still used traditional lamp sockets and regular 2smd bulbs.
I've got a very nice original run pro on the marketplace right now: https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/for-sale-huo-metallica-pro-original-run-wood-backbox
I had a ColorDMD in there for a while and can confirm it fits fine without any issue. I don't have anything to compare it to but the colors are indeed vibrant and I have not noticed any ghosting or chipping issues (though it does have cliffy protectors everywhere).
For some reason I was under the impression the ProLEDs had SMD boards instead of sockets.

I believe the premiums have the SMD boards, but the pros have sockets.
