Why are you guys washing out the whole bottom portion of the playfield with green?
Quoted from Meegis:My met is fully customized and color coded
Here's a full shot of the playfield when lit.
Wow! That looks awesome! I wasn't planning on going that route, but now that I see it I think I am going to have to! Thanks for posting a pic.
Quoted from embryon:now that's what I'm talking about...nice
I color coordinated a lot of my games.
Here's my high roller casino I brought back to life. (Not a great pic, glass is on, and I have changed the cards at the drop targets to brighter white since this was taken)

Different strokes for different folks. It isnt so bad in person, the picture pulls a lot of color out.

looks amazing. A lot of the older bally/williams games come up 1000% better with leds, even just by adding more lighting to the playfield dark areas. Well done on this machine.
Quoted from Meegis:Got my met put back together...
Powder coated the legs, lockdown, sides, hinges and shooter housing green metallic. Decided I didn't want to go purple.
Lighting is bad and the colour screams in real life. Camera does no justice.
it is a nice green and makes your game unique compared to the traditional purple mod. I'm sure it looks better in real life
I have one of the original pinball refinery pins#2 to be exact with purple but that green looks bad ass and unique. Congrats

Camera doesn't capture it at all. As you can tell each of the pictures is totally different shades.
I love it and everyone who's seen it says it's perfect.

I like the purple on met, don't get me wrong. Just wanted to be different.

Yeah that does look good. Why no lolly pop rails?
Quoted from MustangPaul:Yeah that does look good. Why no lolly pop rails?
Just used factory. Didn't need to upgrade
Looks great. I wonder if matching green T-moulding would help pull it all together? The backbox looks slightly out of place with the chrome...IMO. Would be curious to see it just to compare.

I agree! That chrome looks horrible no matter what colour the rails are.. just doesn't suit the theme or rest of the cabinet IMO

Was thinking of changing it out. Just haven't had a chance.
Not sure if I go green or just black. If the gree. Is wrong, it will just clash

You should try removing the chrome, skuff it up, paint it with a similar Green and see what it looks like. You can easily get more Chrome T-molding if you choose to go back. You could always paint it flat black if you don't like the green to see if it looks better like that as well.

Didn't even think of that.
Well see if time permits it
Quoted from Tmezel:I put a plastic cover on the mystery hole lights to give them a more diffused look.
Can you post a closeup pic of what you did? Light looks nice and even in the video but it's hard to see the mod. Thanks!
I had the error switch 63 tonight , thanks to this forum , I have narrowed it down to the magnet board .

I changed mine to red and blue light boards, gives it a nice purple look.

I think he's talking about the two bulbs over the scoop.
For anyone sick of the snake spitting out anywhere between outlane or sdtm, here's my best fix yet..
I'm om my second LE, and thorougly dissapointed that this machine had this issue. I adjusted my first to work 99% . This fix however I can say is 100 percent perfect.
I took the plunger out, drilled it out concave so the ball would sit nicely on every eject, after bending stop bracket so it can rest and activate the switch. To make sure the delivery is smooth, I cut a thin abs plastic strip, so its actually a scoop, not 2 x 45 degree angles where it can go wrong.
Shots to middle left flipper.. I can safely say 500 out of 500.
Happy player here, hope its of use to others, good luck.
Btw, I addded red& mylar on my plastic, so snakes gullet is red .
Quoted from yzfguy:I think he's talking about the two bulbs over the scoop.
My bad, thought it was the insert. I installed frosted bulbs for those two. Had to drill out the metal just a touch to get the bulbs to fit correctly.
Quoted from MattS:Swapped out the back box speakers and just for fun took the speaker grills off instead of using standoffs. Kind of gives it an 80's boombox look.
Quoted from pindude80:at first when I saw this picture thought I was looking at my game! Lol. I have the exact same setup. I like it
Cool!
Sound is not dramatically different but does seem cleaner than the stock speakers.

I added two amplified equalizers, an upgraded cabinet speaker and a powered sub, mine cranks now!

I have an upgraded cabinet speaker and a PSW10 but no amps. Which ones did you use?
I run the standard external Polk, but I haven't touched the backboard speakers. I like to upgrade them on my arcade cabinets though, makes sense for pins, I should look into it.

The ones I used were very inexpensive, I think they were $13 on amazon.
is that hammer magnet board a weak link ? ive never had any issues with anything on my pin until now . Im just curious if its a common issue , or just typical wear.

So I decided to have Maclean from Pinside paint my Sparky. I especially like how he pulled off the Gene Simmons themed Sparky in a previous build. After seeing that, it got me to thinking about perhaps Maclean doing an Old Rocker Prisoner getting fried in the electric chair causing his eyes to bulge out...and boy did he nail it! White hair, crazy bulging eyes that match the Monster's translite, leather jacket with prison pants, bolts and wires in his helmet, metal cross, LAST RIDE tattoo, spikes, skulls and god knows what else I've missed....wow! Mr. Maclean, you're amazing...thanks for the work of art.

Outstanding!!! I'd be afraid to put that back in the pin for fear I'd damage it somehow.
Fantastic work!
I just noticed this the other day, on both sides of the cabinet. I don't know if it was like this when I bought the game, in 2015. When playing the cab has always felt a little wobbly, especially compared to my other machines (wlms/bally). The rail bolts inside are all tight, everything inside is tight, so I'm not sure how or when this happened. Anyone have ideas what I should look at? Thx

Short of reinforcing your cabinet and asking Stern for new cabinet decals, I don't see how you could do a satisfactory repair here? You could try removing the bolts, applying a bit of heat, make a cut in the crease, trim whatever needs to be, heat and carefully rub the creases out, glue the flaps carefully back down by painting on something like a spray glue?? Not sure that the hole from the bolt won't be exposed though...not much you could do about that. It looks like the material stretched some how....weird.
I am wondering if the bolts have pushed down on the cabinet causing an oval hole due to weight? Or is this a decal issue only? If the bolt holes have indeed elongated then this would affect the playfield level and slope and that sucks! And to fix that I would guess you could create a bushing that re-centered the bolt in the original hole, but it would be hell on the decal...

hey, so am I ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

All the rail bolts seem tight, but I have not removed them and checked the holes for slop... Hopefully i can check tonight. When I got the machine and after I leveled the playfield, the cabinet head and cabinet was way out of level. Visually it was quite obvious with the machine sitting between two other pins. I never investigated further... thanks all. Granny boobs and all.

Could the deacals have been installed cheating up and as the decal moved to match the pull of the adhesive, snagged on the bolts. I've seen similar on re-decal cabs installed bottom to top and pulled too tight to remove bubbles vs the front to back method.
Just a thought.
I dunno if Pin Graffix still offers it but I did a road case speaker decal for anyone who wanted to match the cabinet instead of the bright colored look that's more suited to the Pro cabinet.

Just ordered one recently. They are still available.
