Are we really still arguing about a manual?
Yeah I didn't mean to start a manual battle. I just wanted a suggestion as to how to remove the microswitch at the snake without taking the entire snake off. I still don't have a bloody answer. Yeesh. Guess I will take the snake off.

Would be nice if there was a manual available!!

Could you make them go around in circles too? and could you make the speed they move a mix up of slow and fast and stationary instead of always fast? Always moving fast gets old fast....for me anyway.

Sheesh Michael, whats next !

All choreography is totally arbitrary. These runs are mainly for fatigue testing. Seeing what breaks. All movement is customisable. The only thing you can't do is complete horizontal circles because of the wires.

I see. I didn't mean horizontal circles.

They can go in a circle as from the player's point of view. So trace out a visual circle, as if you were looking at a rotating fan blade, yes.
The version driven by Total Lightshow will have different choreography for different modes, and have specific movements for events in the game. And the lights will be able to follow the ball.
In Sterns latest Facebook post about KISS code status they said the update would be coming along with "a few others". I wonder if one of those other code updates will be for Metallica?
Are band member modes in the game yet? The other day I finally paid attention to hitting the flashing guitar picks. It seems like nothing happened but I swear I saw a reference on the DMD say something about a band member, can't remember exactly what it said.

If you collect all the band members by hitting the pick targets you start a made called Blackend.

Ok, that looks awesome. I'm definitely interested.
Didn't think I ever would entertain switching out stock speakers but doesn't cut it long term. Some went external sub and some just appear to have done internal.
A few options and opinions?

Sub first before back box speakers. I gave up changing back box speakers a long time ago. No real pickup. Sub all the way though.
I had 2 met's in my place the other week and one had stock speakers and another had full flipper fidelity ... so I did a test with both bc I was gonna take the supposedly upgraded speakers and put in mine . Well to my surprise the stock speakers sounded much better than the flipper fidelity especially the mid and highs. I was gonna start a thread on my find but didn't wanna upset or damage any businesses. So imo just adding a polk sub is the best option to upgrading the sound. Now if u add a amp with the flipper fidelity then it wld sound much better but with stock setup it just cant push the speakers enough.

Sounds like an adjustment issue to me. I've heard FF speakers in other games and it's a very obvious improvement in sound quality.

Ive never been impressed with them at all ... heard them in tz, bsd, rbion and a few other stern titles and well they just didn't give any improvement over stock and in some cases sounded worse (not as good mids and treble). What cld you possibly adjust? There just isnt enough power (15-20w ) to really get any sound out of them over stock . I even cranked it up past 50 and it just didn't sound as clear or as loud as oem but it did have a little more bass but no where near what the polk sub has. Now you add a amp in thegmix and you will have something but otherwise its not worth it and stock speakers with polk sub is the way to go and more than enough for a pinball machine. I let many people hear both pins side by side and everyone agreed
Slightly off topic here but i played a met pro led and a kiss pro that were right beside each other yesterday on location. Both were the new style angled back box/speaker panel with a decal. I know kiss would be spike and met would be sam. But i assume that they probably have the same speakers? The audio from the kiss was so much better. Crisper. Maybe im wrong that the speakers are the same?

I got the basic flipper fidelity kit and OMG the difference is amazing. You won't regret what ever upgrade you do.

I added a $100 Polk sub.m to my Metallica and it sounds great! I've heard the flipper fidelity speakers on other machines and they don't sound any better (maybe worse) than the stock speakers
Quoted from chubtoad13:I've heard the flipper fidelity speakers on other machines and they don't sound any better (maybe worse) than the stock speakers
I have them on my MET LE and would trade them in a heartbeat for the stock back box speakers again.
Quoted from DeathHimself:I have them on my MET LE and would trade them in a heartbeat for the stock back box speakers again.
I'd love to hear them next side by side. They might sound great on a metallica. Ive heard them on a few B/W games and I didn't care for them
to my ears, the FF speakers in the back box lost all mid and highs as where the stock speakers you can still hear them nicely. Other then the low and high base adjustment on the woofer and a volume knob there is no real adjustment to get those mids and highs back. I personally don't care for them, stock speakers and a external powered polk sub is the way to go in my opinion.
Quoted from DeathHimself:I have them on my MET LE and would trade them in a heartbeat for the stock back box speakers again.
I have them in my Star Trek LE and would like to get the stock back with the subwoofer. I bought a speaker at Texas but it's too big, it's meant to fit ACDC
Is the pro model supposed to have a flashing light on the grave marker? I believe it's supposed to light when multiball is ready.
I don't see a flasher in that area, but the flasher is in the menu and I watched a video where it happened on someone else's pro.

Yes. The flasher is inside the cross.

I think the game means a lot too.
I noticed the FF didn't sound like much of an improvement on met... Compared to my FF ac/doc.
I have not experimented with swapping out the stock music tho...

Its inside the cross, mine has come undone twice now. Looks like there is some glue to hold it, but it still comes undone.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I've had the game for a year and I'm just noticing that never worked
Glad to see im not the only one who thought that stock speakers sounded better than upgraded. I was afraid to mention it lol but turns out most agree

Spike is now stereo quality sound, where Sam was still mono (although I don't know why). That's the sound difference. Makes a difference what is driving the speakers also.

I don't think they sound better per say... But the upgrade seems marginal for the stock soundtrack. The Stock is only a single driver... The FF are two driver speakers.

Well when I had both I tested them beside one another bc I was gonna switch mine out for the ff but the treble and mids were better on my stock speakers ...however the bass was definitely more inhanced on the ff sub . But the polk powered sub with oem speakers is imo the best choice unless you are going to use a amp with the ff.
Wow is all I can say about this pin...... been playing alot the last week bc I added a bunch of mods . Ive had some of my best games the last 2 days and have seen every mode but end of the line which I just missed bc I drained trying to collect the last ciu mode. What a awesome pin and the ruleset and animations are just amazing and some the best ever. Love my pimped out pro. Added snake light mod, hooked caps, invisaglass, powdercoat, creeping death , total lightshow, topper, shaker, cliffys, color dmd, sub, speakerlights and grill inserts and few other things im forgetting. Have the hooked spinners to add also 20160417_201341.jpg20160417_201114.jpg20160417_201228.jpg20160417_201246.jpg

I like the coloring you are getting from your LEDs. One of the first things I did to mine was color in the cross, chair, coffin and snake inserts. The uneveness of the lights bothered me, so I ended up using these:
http://www.cometpinball.com/6-3-V-Plug-Play-Strips-Comet-Pinball-p/6.3vsmdstrips.htm
I cut pieces of plexiglass and mounted the led strips to them and screwed them to where the socket was. I can take pics if you have questions. It turned out great, the lighting is really even.

You mean an LE apron? They are as rare as hens teeth. I was lucky and found one for my GB Pro I have coming. If you can find a red clear one they look even better on Met, I have one and love it. I wish they would start making those 2 aprons again.

I don't think red wld look very good on met ? Pinball refinery and hooked made thd ones on my luci and imve so im hoping one will do a run for met. I dont have to have the le apron tho.
Quoted from bigd1979:I don't think red wld look very good on met ?
I think it does.
The FF speakers will not produce the same level of sound as the stock speakers using the same settings. You need to crank up the output from the soundboard a bit. I don't remember the name of the settings, but you can adjust both music and sounds. Adjust them down, so -5 will give you more output than 0.
There is not as much of an improvement on Met as there is on AC/DC, but they should definitely be noticeably better than the stock speakers once adjusted.
Quoted from MustangPaul:I think it does.
He's right it does. I have the red light up one on my MET and it looks great bc it's clear and lights up when Sparky gets work done to him. I enjoy it.
