Quoted from flashburn:

It's actually a Warm White, to simulate yellow, since yellow LED's usually suck.

Negative.

They specifically list yellow as a separate color. This is supposed to be white. It's right next to the yellow one.

I wish I had this "problem".

I just found out my seller set the outlanes to the easiest settings. No wonder. Lol. My games would last so long my arms hurt.

Oops, my bad. I have this mod, I just don't remember the colors well. The white is still a warm white though, so you want to swap out that board anyway.

No I don't.

I'd much prefer a cool white in that slot over a warm white. I might buy this kit, but if I do, I won't be replacing that particular LED board.

Okay, do whatever you want, I don't really care.

lol

Nothing personal. It's personal taste obviously. I'm sure there will be plenty of people that prefer the warm white over the cool white.

I'm just not one of them.

But Rob...the warm white is so much better than the stock white.
Why? Because I paid three dollars and eighty cents for it...that's why?

Will anyone notice the difference in white if you don't replace it? I doubt it.

Ah ha! Will be interested to see how adjusting the out lanes back to the default positions will change your ball times. I know any time the ball touches the slings or if I have a slow roll out of the fuel lane I am preparing for a drain.

Does the Stern software keep track of ball times or average game length in any way? Time to explore the menus....

Should not be too long before I join this thread ! See you soon guys

Quoted from digitalbytes:

Which LEDs do you use exactly? Metallica is my first machine and the number and variety of LED choices seems a bit daunting. I would like to update the FUEL gauge and the snake.

Here are the leds i used in my pro fuel gauge. I really like it. Part numbers are from cointaker.

Red, orange, yellow, yellow, green.
R44N, O555N, Y555N, Y555N, G44N

Notice on the pro the far left and far right are 44/47 bulbs, others are 555

Thanks. Will give these a try.

Quoted from callmesteam:

I get a ton of comments on one of the simplest mods. I added Red, yellow, orange, green, etc. LEDs to the FUEL gauge and FUEL inserts. Even the premium owners mention it, and people who have played both version

I did this to mine and it's another reason I prefer the Pro over the Premium/LE. I'd rather have control of what bulb/color/intensity I put under an insert than be stuck with their LED choice and using a gel to color it.

I'll also recommend the coffin decal and shaker. I kept the stock speakers and added an external powered sub. It sounds *phenomenal*!

Lastly, I added side mirrors, shooter lane side protector, and changed out 5 of the songs to MUCH better choices. I love playing the game to Ain't My Bitch!

#513 6 years ago

I also recommend the eyeball coffin decal. Like it was made to be there.
I have metal cliffy protectors for
The drain side of trough
The up kicker side of trough/shooter lane
Shooter lane side wall protector
Mystery hole

#514 6 years ago

That's it, I have a Metallica too, so this mean I'm in this Exquisite club right ?

YES. I keep saying that 'Ain't My Bitch' is a perfect pinball song! Decent riff and beat just totally fits with the game, even if its not a 'classic' track.

#516 6 years ago

I used red, orange, yellow, cool white and green. I generally go with warm white instead of 'yellow', but it actually looks good in my game. I could see the cool white bulb being up to preference. EDIT And of course, LEDs almost always look terrible in photos. Or at least all the photos I take. They do look better in person.

Was talking to friend about this game and where Stern have really scored a home run is by having call outs by the band members, unlike ACDC.

Presumably the band wanted to get involved which is why.

I hope the next music pin has call outs by band members - makes for a much more authentic experience - even if not a fan of group.

Code update, getting closer by the day....

#520 6 years ago

Thanks Digital. I've already ordered my coffin decal mod.

Friggin sweeeet....

I agree. I mean I know that some of the call outs aren't great, but to be honest, I'm more forgiving just because I know it's really them. I think it's pretty cool that they got so involved in the pin.

#522 6 years ago

Price drop on these to 10 bucks. I may not be able to get more of these skeletons. I think I have 8 left. If I do sell them I would get more before the halloweeners buy them all up.

Same here... and i think it as put presure on Stern to make a nice game, the fact that MetallicA got involved
and that James is a fan of Pinball!

Oh cool! I bought these same picks ($$) and made a "Free Play" card with them, but I like them displayed on the playfield better.

#528 6 years ago

Somebody has to do some decent apron cards - please?

Coffin decal is great btw - 100% recommended.

#529 6 years ago

Can i get a price range people paid for their premiums? I received a quote of 6300 drop shipped to my house and just curious how this falls within everyone elses price range.

Thanks

I want!!!

#548 6 years ago

Here's the magic. Problem is shipping these in an economical way. Let me figure it out. I want to get these out for like $5 including shipping. The print here is a bit challenging since I have multiple printed pieces and some gluing on my part is required. Even with a small seam where the teeth meet the rounded portion of the fangs, it still looks amazing. I figured at $5, how could anyone complain...

image-981.jpg

#549 6 years ago

Looks better than my current snakes 1 tooth smile, but is there a way for the "bracket" to be black and the teeth white so that the snake doesnt look like he has a full row of teeth in the front? I was thinking that the black would make the mount disappear and only the fangs would be visible?

Rick

#550 6 years ago

After a ton of plays on my machine, I can see why the original teeth broke. They were in the way.
How will these hold up over time?
What are they made of?
If the ball hits a tooth, will the whole assembly just pop off?
How much play time did you have to test these?

All these questions require time to answer. Time is money.
5 bucks shipped is too cheap.
