Quoted from paulohotline:Hey guys, if anyone has purchased a backup set of plastics from marcos here - http://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/803-5000-E3 and has them handy, would you mind scanning them or taking some good quality photos of them? Scanning would be preferred but not everyone has a scanner The Virtual Pinball community thanks you in advance!
I've got them covered. They just need to be patient and wait for it to go out of production at Stern
Hey 85Vett, so you have all the plastics scanned? Can you dropbox them for us over at vpinball.com Cannot wait for your release as well as we have been waiting almost a year. Thanks dude and congrats on the new addition to your family!
Quoted from Pinballerchef:I haven't seen a topper yet that gets my attention to add to my MET....digging this one Tmezel.
I couldn't find one I liked either that would go with the purple trim I added. Then I found this one at Expo. I think it looks great.

Yes Laserriffic does some extremely sweet toppers....beauty's!! But I'd like something a bit different for my MET.....something that doesn't scream MET since the game itself does that enough. I am looking for more along the lines of accenting the game.....kind of off the cuff but still ties in with the whole theme

No scans. I made mine via pictures. I also just made a couple that I couldn't find good pics of. I made all of these before I bought my MET but they seem fine to me so I didn't rip my game apart to update things further. Here is an old pic of it.
Once released I'll give full approval to mod so they can take any images they want from the table at that time.
I'm going to do a little run of roadcase style speaker panels, if anyone is interested hit up this thread:

I have a met pro default, which I upgraded with all the cointaker leds (it looks really led pro now ).
But how are the backpanel flashers set up on a led pro, the 6 ones behind the backpanel? Mine shine now downwards because the classics bulbs where setup this way. Is this the same by default for the led pro or did they install them in a different way at Stern?

I used some of these in blue and white

The flexible head allows you to position it however you want. Worked well for me.
How did you do that? Nice Work!

I bought a car audio eq displays, the ones that attach to the inside of the rear window. Mounted it on some plex and because I have an open ceiling in my basement gr I screwed it to a floor joist above the bb so you can move the game around without having to touch the display. It's neat to see all the colums and colors bounce around with the gameplay and music. Total cost was about $30 It's pretty different.

So those of us that have bought the Total Lightshow already, will this just be an addon to that?

I will be releasing the code update to drive it onto the website shortly after a bit more testing. You just need to source the mech and a 12v step up converter.
Btw, my package just arrived a few minutes ago. Tomorrow I have the day off and will be waiting for furniture delivery most of the day so I will hopefully get time to install it tomorrow. Will get pics/video once it's installed.
Just heard that Stern will be producing more Metallica Premiums, including Road Cases, in December. It is also highly likely that the Metallica license will be extended into the next year! Great news!
That rising cross is awesome, nice job! Do you have to have the interactive light show mod to have this mod? Would be great if you could just do the rising cross independently...

I'm sure someone could find another way to drive it. But you have to read the limit switches to control it properly. My board could be installed without the lights of course (it would be less expensive than the total kit without a bunch of cables and sockets, but not by a huge margin), but that would be way overkill to just get the cross. The cross mech itself is around $250 from distros.
The rising cross is cool, but of all the features on my LE it's definitely the least important to me.

It clears the ball when it gets stuck on top of that plastic as it rises during ball search...cool and functional!
Quoted from XpadreX:The Premiums ship with LEDs, correct?
Correct, but the Pros do now too, you can't buy a new Stern without LEDs anymore.

Never once seen this. Is that common on the pro's?

I actually did purchase the plastics...and have one of the HP picture scanners. Some of the plastics will have to be stitched together....buttt if you need anything........
Quoted from Aurich:Correct, but the Pros do now too, you can't buy a new Stern without LEDs anymore.
Thank you- I was fairly certain, but the emphasis on the Pro made me question. I have a Monsters Premium on the way, and couldn't be more excited.
Quoted from 85vett:Never once seen this. Is that common on the pro's?
I think the only reason the plastic is cut away, allowing a stuck ball, is so the cross can rise

Cannot wait to install!!!
Anyone want to make me a custom rom swapping unforgiven for Orion and Sad but true for Four horsemen. I need to figure it out and pinbrowser seems straight forward but messing with audio levels to ensure smoothness would be key I'd think. My selection seems like it may be someone's else's and already done.
It would be cool to have a rom per the first 4 albums dedicated to each also. Swap it up from time to time. Lol
I really enjoy my MET - its a great game and fun to play.
That said, every time I play it I find the "Casket Multiball" call out SUPER annoying when clearly a Coffin is built into the playfield. Hell - it even says "Coffin" on the DMD display. I have heard others suggesting it would be a simple "fix" to change the DMD to spell "Casket" - but this does not fix this either. For those who may not know - caskets have straight sides while coffins flare out at the shoulders. They really are two different and distinct items.
If James Hetfield is as big a pinball fan as is reported maybe he could be persuaded fix his voice call outs to say "Coffin" instead of "Casket"?? How do you f-up something this basic when creating voice over scripts?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say know one cares about the difference between a casket or coffin lol. Well you and the guy who thumbs upped ya haha
I don't really care about the difference. BUT, I do find it weird that the DMD reads one thing and the call-out says the other.
Quoted from Roostking:I'm going to go out on a limb and say know one cares about the difference between a casket or coffin lol. Well you and the guy who thumbs upped ya haha
I'd think it would bug anyone who knew the difference - like the difference between "know one cares" and "no one cares". LOL
