I think I’m finally going to pull the trigger on ordering a Metallica Pro this week. I've been saving up for a while now and got a good quote on a NIB, with free shipping. To those of you that already own one, do you recommend it? I've played it on location many times and find it to be a really fun machine (plus Metallica is my all-time favorite band). Are there any technical issues you've encountered or easily damageable parts of the playfield I should try and protect?

Thanks for any insight. I’m really excited to buy my first brand new game, but wanted to check with some of you first.

Quoted from Hazoff:

Easily one of the best pins to date and you should grab a premium its worth it for the light show alone, with the upgraded magnet board I haven't had any problem and now love the hammer lock.

What is the upgraded magnet board? Aftermarket part?

Yesterday I was playing a Met Pro on location and I noticed that the balls were being wildly flung around when I’d hit Sparky. I’ve played this particular machine several times in the past, but it had been a few months. Yesterday was the first time I noticed the balls being affected by a magnet, other than when you’re about to start multiball and the ball locks in place while he gets electrocuted. Did this machine have something added to it or did the new code have something to do with this?

Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the feedback and it makes me even more confident in my decision to buy one.

Thanks to everyone for the input! I just placed the order for a Pro and it should be here within a week!

Are you gonna get the shaker?

Maybe in the future? I'm not sure how much they are or how they're installed.

One more question -have any of you put side mirror blades on? Are the stuck on or nail/screwed? Any recommendations of a seller of a nice blades?

My Metallica Pro is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow between 9am-11am tomorrow. I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight!

Thanks everyone. It was delivered yesterday. The "born on date" was 6/23, so it's only 48 hours old! I was home alone, so I had to un-box and set it up alone (not an easy thing and wouldn't recommend!). The game plays perfectly out of the box and I'm very happy with the purchase.

Ugh... this game is so freakin' challenging. My high score to date is only 30 million and I average about 3-5 million.

I noticed that the right and left side drains are brutal. Have any of you adjusted the side pins, so it's harder for the ball to go out that way? I noticed there are two drill marks if you want to move them.

Ahhh... much better. I adjusted the out-lane posts to the second, closer together option and now I have a much more fun game. Before, I was losing 2 out of the 3 balls on average to out-lane drains, but now it's only about 1 in 10 balls.

I'm still amazed at how tough this game is. I clocked a high score of around 35,000,000 the first day and 2 weeks later, I haven't been able to beat the score. I see some of the high scores listed here on Pinside and can't imagine how to score that high. I consider myself a pretty good player and can post up big scores on other games. What am I doing wrong? I can get 1 and sometimes 2 Sparky mulitballs per game. Are there big jackpots to score? Admittedly, I haven't read a rule sheet on this game and was hoping to just figure it out as I go.

I absolutely LOVE this game and will cherish it forever.

Quoted from Leeps:

What are met pros selling for? Im interested in one or an ACDC. Or both...lol

I got mine for $4700 from Twistedpins.com and that was with free shipping. The game arrived direct from Stern within 48 hours of production and works flawlessly out of the box.
